When Clark felt a hand touching his face, he slowly opened his eyes.
"Daddy..." he softly said.
"You're awake, are you hungry?" he asked full of concern. The boy just stared at him and then looked down. He seems fearful over something.
"What's wrong? Are you unwell?" he touched the boy's forehead.
"I'm hungry."
"Oh, okay... here, eat this." He handed him a sandwich stuffed with ham, cheese and eggs. The boy's eyes lit up when he saw the food. Grab it and slowly ate. Cliff just observed the boy eating, then he drink the coffee.
"So tell me, how did you end up here?"
"Tristan and I were playing hide and seek and I was the one to hide, but then I got lost." He took out his phone and was about to dial his sister's number but then he received a call from her instead.
"Cliff, are you in your office?"
"Yes."
"Kay, I'm coming over." He then looked at the child again, helping him to drink his milk.
"Sorry if I have disturbed you, uncle. And sorry if I called you Daddy."
"May I ask why did you do that? Calling me daddy?"
"I dont know sir but I just love calling you as my dad."
"Where's your daddy by the way?"
"I don't have one. Can you be my daddy?" The child asks hopefully.
"Ahh..you ask your mom first. Who is your mom by the way?"
Clark opened his mouth to answer when suddenly the door opens.
"Ohh thank G.o.d you're here...." Rona heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing Clark.
"Clark, I've been looking for you and I was so scared when i could not find you.
"I am so sorry auntie Rona for making you worried, I won't do it again." Tears flowing from the child's eyes.
"Don't cry, baby..." she go over the child and hugged him. "..nanny Tess is on her way here."
"Please don't tell mommy please that I misbehave.." his eyes pleading, "I love to hang out here."
Rona gazes at his brother waiting for confirmation.
"So you plan on coming back here?" Cliff was astonished on the boy's statement.
"Yes, uncle Cliff, but not to play. I love to bring my books here and read it. Look Tristan?" He pointed on the floor to ceiling window and run towards it. "..you're right, you could see the whole city from here. Mom, would love this." He mumbled to himself.
As the two adults watches the boy, Rona became serious.
"Cliff regarding earlier when i called you, I've been dying to ask you have you impregnated a woman before?"
"What?! h.e.l.l, no!" He said sternly.
"But how can you explain the child's features? He looks exactly like you."
"I've never done anything so foolish without taking responsibility of my action. It's just a coincident."
He recollected his 'escapades" before, though all of the women he slept were willing to carry his child but he never alone any one. He was so careful.
A thought then strucked him which makes him sweat in his forehead.
'Oh no, no, no.. it's impossible!' He screamed in his thoughts, clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
"So, do you now remeber?" Rona urged.
"It's just impossible..."
...
On their way home, Clark pleaded to nanny Tess not to tell to his mom about what happened today.
"Please nanny Tess, I'm begging you, don't tell mom, okay..? Please, please please."
The nanny then sighed.
"Just this one, if you do it again, I will definitely tell everything to her. Deal?" The child smiled happily.
