Vanessa saw Ingrid's name on his phone's screen. She could not hide her irritation while Gary stopped on his tracks and waited for them so that he could continue his work. But he noticed that the two seems distracted. The woman is fuming mad, while Clifford was excited as he looked at his phone.

Gary sighed while he shaking his head he thought, 'The man in love and the desperate woman. What a pair!' he grunted.

Vanessa, the scheming witch that she is, took something from her bag and gave it to Clifford to distract him from reading the message.

"Cliff, Paul Keller gave us an invitation for his charity ball next week. Would you believe that he paired us?" Clifford's brows rose as he looked at the invitation but did bother to read it.

The name of Paul Keller makes infuriate him.

"Is that so? I'll check my schedule later. Gary, get the invitation." Clifford is unenthusiastic to look at the invitation so he s.h.i.+fted his attention to his phone and is itching to read Ingrid's message. "And excuse me for a moment, Miss Reiley, I need to answer this message first. I'll catch up later. Gary, please continue the tour for me." he apologetically excused himself.

But the woman did not moved yet, but fixed her gaze to Clifford with narrowed eyes.

Clifford scanned his surroundings he has this eerie feeling that Ingrid is just around.

Clifford:

He waited for her reply but she did not reply again. He dialled Ingrid's number but it just keeps on ringing with no sign that she will pick it up. He is no longer transferred to voicemail, though, which is a good sign.

Clifford: still Ingrid did not reply.

Clifford:

Clifford meant his message. He misses her company and the child that he would really camp outside her house if she will not respond to his message.

Suddenly, someone tapped his back. Turning, he saw Ingrid pus.h.i.+ng a cart loaded with groceries. His heart went flying when he saw Ingrid looking like a wife doing some groceries. He grinned at the sight of her.

Without s.h.i.+lly-shallying he hugged the woman in public. "My goodness! Ingrid where have you been, why were you avoiding me? Where's our son."

"Ugh, excuse me, I can't breathe." Gently, Clifford pulled away from her. "...and please lower your voice someone might hear you." She whispered.

Vanessa was stunned at the sight of them. She could not believe what she is seeing. She did not heed Clifford's instruction but instead waited for him but to her dismay, Ingrid arrived.

Vanessa wanted to pull Ingrid's hair for ruining her time with Clifford.

'She is really a pain in the a.s.s! Just wait till I get rid of you witch!'

"Hi there, Ingrid, we meet again." she interrupted the public display of affection of the two.

Clifford thought that Vanessa went away already, he looked at Gary with a questioning gaze, the secretary already knew what it means and he shrugged that he can't do about it.

"Meet again?" he looked intently at Ingrid.

"Oh yeah, we met earlier here while I was waiting for your arrival, Cliff." Ingrid did not like it when she heard how Vanessa called Clifford.

'Cliff?' and this man allowed her to call him that? Hmmp!'

"We just b.u.mped into each other, and it's not in my plan to meet her in this unlikely place." Her voice was stiff. "...and this Miss Reiley here mentioned about me having a part in your collaboration? Is it true?" Ingrid sounded like a tranquil tigress that with just a wrong answer she will not hesitate to pounce him.

"Huh?" he was confused why Vanessa told Ingrid about it. But he just kept to himself. "..but I haven't decided it yet..." Vanessa lowered her head feeling caught of her scheme.

"Is that so?" Ingrid is satisfied with his reply. "...By the way, you can come at dinner tonight. Clark's been waiting to see you." Ingrid blushed because she intentionally says it in front of Vanessa to tell her to back off he's taken.
