Ingrid stiffened at the realization that there were onlookers and they did not budge but fixed their eyes at them. Ingrid jolted from his clutches and stormed away from him and pretended there's nothing happened.
Her heart palpitated and she could feel the heat rise up to her face. She composed herself and walked normally ignoring the stares of the employees.
While Clifford just smirked and paid no attention to the stares of his employees and went after Ingrid. He saw her walking towards the main entrance. He caught up with her easily and walked beside her.
"Why did you suddenly leave?" Clifford acted as if he did not do some naughtiness.
"Are you kidding me? You really wanted to be a laughing stock among your employees?" Ingrid angrily squinted. Clifford then softly laughed.
"Why would they laugh? I think they'll love it. Have you seen the look on their faces? Geez... they're so fascinating." Clifford teases her all the more which makes Ingrid swiftly stomped away from him.
The car was already waiting for them outside the building. Clifford then opened the door for her.
"Are we having the same ride?" Ingrid is so surprise because she thought that they'll have separate ride.
"Of course! We'll both fetch Clark in his school." He said coolly.
"Oh no, no, no. No way, Cliff! Are you insane? You really wanted us to be exposed?" Ingrid could not believe what Clifford is doing.
"Should we argue about that here in front of the company or should we discuss it inside the car? Look, everyone's looking at us..." his eyes moved from her to inside of the building.
Little by little, Ingrid turned and looked behind her and there she saw bunches of employees who were evidently peeping at their direction. Curiosity and silent murmurs could be seen on their eyes and on their lips.
"Goodness! You. Are. Unbelievable!" she put more intensity on the words she uttered to him. She hurriedly went inside the car, followed by Clifford and they sat side by side. Ingrid inhaled deeply and groaned.
"Ha! Will you just follow me as I lead, my sweet Ingrid? You are the one who will expose everything because of your constant protest. And as for your peace of mind, I'll call some men to secure the school so that no one can notice or detect or even take picture of us fetching our son. Besides, I'll be the one to get him. You'll just wait for us in the car."
Ingrid did no longer protest. She stared outside and just remained silent. True to his word, Clifford called someone and instructed to secure the school before they arrived. After the call, she felt that her right hand was squeezed gently by Clifford.
'Why does he know how to calm my raging emotions?' She did not look at the man but let him hold her hand until they reached the school.
Clifford, on the other hand, seems so contented being with her and just holds her hands like this.
When they entered the Clark's school, she noticed that there are several men surrounding the place but they were not men in suit but just wore normal clothes but some wore dark sungla.s.ses. They seem ordinary to look at but then she knew that they were the men who secured the area.
The driver opened the door for Clifford and he nodded at one of the men who seem to be the leader as he emerged from the car.
"Young master, the little young master is waiting in his cla.s.sroom." The leader informed.
"Are there any person inside?"
"None, except for the teacher." He then dismissed the man and turned to her and said, "Just wait a while, we won't be long." He said smiling and walked away with so much command.
Ingrid could not take her eyes off his back. She felt a strong emotion of being so proud that he is the father of her son. She felt so secure, and warm feeling filled her heart. She felt like she could be whoever she is in front of him, and still she won't have to worry what he might think because she knew she is valued and respected and loved?
