"How about the earlier incident, what exactly happened?" Clint asks Mr. Vladimir.

"This is what happened... on their way here for the announcement of the DNA result, a fast approaching car suddenly came into view targeting the driver's side of the van they were riding. Luckily, the driver who I sent to fetch the experts saw the approaching car and evaded it immediately. As a result, it collided with a fully loaded truck. The driver already memorized the plate number of that vehicle and still in the process of gathering the information. Unfortunately, the perpetrators this time escaped despite the collision that had happened to them. It's a good thing that we planned ahead of time, Master Clint."

"Hmm..."

"Oh G.o.d! Please Clint, John, do something... what if they'll hurt any of us next? Or our grandchild, or Clifford or, or Ingrid?? I could not afford it..." Helen panicked and Rose becomes affected too.

"Investigate first that Maya Holmes. Then we'll hold press release as a family and tell them the truth." John declared.

"But John, isn't it dangerous? Everybody will know." Rose gripes.

"I believe that our enemy knows about it already that's why he wanted to destroy everything. All we have to do is to rally the support of the people. But whatever that man or woman's motive behind all of this is severe."

Clifford and Clark were left in the living room and agreed to go to Ingrid. Clifford thinks that they really need to talk again for the reason that he has so many things to clarify.

Then Lance emerged from the garden. His eyes were puffy. 'Did he cry?' Clifford silently inquired in his thoughts.

"Mr. Briggs, I am happy that the result of the DNA is positive and that Clark has already a father to look up to. But there is one thing I want to say to you, that despite that fact, it doesn't mean that I concede from pursuing Ingrid. You are neither married nor even in a romantic relations.h.i.+p yet. So, I still have a chance."

"I am not expecting that she will marry me right away either. I still have a long way to prove my worth as Clark's father and as her future husband. But are you sure about this, Mr. McNaught? I cannot guarantee you that I will hold back in proving myself either."

"But, of course! Let the challenge begins... let's have a clean compet.i.tion, shall we?" Lance eyes showed determination and extending his right hand for a firm handshake, sealing the challenge.

Clifford then firmly shook hands with Lance.

"Clean compet.i.tion, we shall have." Clifford seriously responded. He could not afford to lose to this man.

And the challenge started between the two men. Clifford may have the advantage as being Clark's father but he is still not sure about it, knowing Ingrid who is not easily swayed by sweet nothings or flattery words or fancy things. He is really extremely challenged.

After their brief encounter, Lance bid good bye and left the mansion.

Clifford then took his son by his hand and together they went to where Ingrid is.

"Daddy, what are you two talking about my mommy?"

"Ahh, hmm it's men's talk about on how to prove our worthiness for the woman we wanted to marry."

"Oh... uncle Lance wanted to marry mom, too?"

"Ahh, he wanted to, but it all depends on your mommy, son." Clifford sighed.

"But you are my dad. You are the one who should mom get married to not anyone else. I only wanted you as my daddy no one else!" Clark pouted his lips in protest. Clifford stopped and carried his son into his arms.

He squeeze his son's nose while chuckling and said, "Of course, I won't let it that your mom get married to anyone else, but me." the child hugs him on his neck.

"You are the best dad!" Clifford was stunned on the child's gesture and his heart skipped a beat and he hugged him and kissed him on his head in return.

'This must Ingrid have felt everytime their son says some admiration to her.' He pondered. The man will never ever regret being a father.

He knocks at the door and Liane answered to come in. Liane was grinning when he entered while Ingrid frowned when she sees him.

"What do you want? You already won, are you already here to claim your prize?" Ingrid then slightly berates him.
