Stockholm syndrome was a complex disability. The victims have a deep emotional relations.h.i.+p with the offender and in turn helps the offender. Also known as hostage complex or hostage syndrome.

Hostage sympathy for gangsters was a distinctive feature of Stockholm syndrome.
