Around 6 P.M, Commoners' Borough, at 16 Black street.

There stood a lone one-storied house only a few ten meters away from n.o.bles' Borough's wall. As the sun starts to go down, suddenly, a figure with a red mask and black dress leaped out from that building's terrace like a cat towards the three-meter tall wall and skillfully jumped towards another side while placing his hand on the wall.

On the other side, Abium smoothly landed onto an unknown n.o.ble's compound and silently walked out. In the n.o.bles' Borough, there was only one main street, and no small streets were connecting like other districts. The whole broad street was completely illuminated with multiple street lights, and many personal soldiers constantly guarded each mansion. And there was a separate royal squad who would patrol that street every two hours.

'It seems it will be tougher to sneak in this street.' Abium muttered to himself while hiding himself up in a random mansion's garden tree. He waited for the first patrol to finish, and after that, he started to search for Baron Harry's mansion.

It didn't take long for him to find out Baron Harry's mansion, and he soon jumped inside the compound without alerting the guards who stood on the watch.

His heart was beating faster and faster as he started moving closer towards the mansion with a red mask on his face. He had already cast Seer's intuition spell before infiltrating n.o.bles' Borough and got a positive result. From the spell, he felt there was considerable danger inside if my ident.i.ty got exposed.

'But if I played safely, I can easily succeed in this mission.' Abium's lips curved upward.

Soon, he first walked towards servants' quarters and waited for anyone of the servant to come. He silently waited there like a lion waiting for its prey to enter into the trap.

After an hour, a black-haired male servant walked into servants' quarters from the mansion house and entered into the bathroom to relieve himself.

He slowly moved towards the right side while yawning and soon arrived in front of the bathroom. For the last few days, all of the servants in this mansion were working like ants.

'Why would Lord Baron's whole family had to come here 20 days before the grand n.o.bles' gathering? That Head maid is making me work like a slave these days.' He muttered in dissatisfaction and soon entered inside the public bathroom.

As he moved to the toilet, suddenly, a hand grabbed his shoulder from the back and hit his nape.

'What-?' Before he could think, his body slowly fell. Without wasting any time, Abium instantly removed his servant dress and quickly wore it. Next, he changed his face like that servant's using the faceless gla.s.s mask and walked out of the bathroom while locking it from the outside using a lock.

Following that, he moved towards the mansion without even slight nervousness on his face. He noticed there were ten soldiers silently stood at the entrance gate while giving him a simple glance.

"Charles! Walk slowly. Otherwise, your feet will get hurt!" A silvery voice came from his right side as he noticed a 50-year-old emerald-haired lady stood there with a waiter plate on her right hand. On that plate were a total of seven orange fruit juice gla.s.ses.

Without knowing how to respond, Abium nodded simply. But the next instant, she gave a glare at him and shouted with a sharp tone.

"You think I care what happens to your d.a.m.n legs? Fool! Go and give these juices to the guests. I will go and get the other plate."

'f.u.c.k. What's wrong with this lady? d.a.m.n, you should at least give some respect, woman.' He cursed at her inwardly while taking that orange fruit gla.s.s plate from her and entered inside. He could see there were multiple servants, and maids started to making giggling noise that made him irritating.

'Well, she didn't seem to notice a slight increase in my height.' Abium muttered to himself and soon didn't know where to go.

"Why are you standing there like a fool? Every time, you are making mistakes after mistakes. Go to the second floor and give those juices to the kids. But don't try to go and knock Lord Randolph's room on the right. He might kill you out of anger." Another shout came from his behind, make his lips twitch.

With a nod, Abium climbed up in the double stair and finally arrived on the second floor. At the same time, Abium silently took out the paralysis potion from his spatial ring and poured a few drops in all those seven orange juice gla.s.ses.

'Before that annoying woman notices me, I have to move towards that elder Randolph's room.' Abium gave an evil grin and soon arrived in front of the right side wooden oak door then knocked it twice.

"Enter!" A deep majestic voice came from inside, and soon Abium opened the door with his left hand while placing that juice plate on his right hand.

"What is it?" Randolph sat on the right-side sofa while trying to deciphering letters written on the two old mysterious papers. He had black hair, silver eyes, and a deep scar on his right cheek. Randolph wore a black robe and gave off a n.o.ble aura around himself. Opposite to him was an older man with gray hair and emerald green eyes, and he wore a gray robe.

'Heh, he is the one who ordered to kill my people.' Abium sneered inwardly and started to answer with a polite smile on his face on the outside.

"My lord, Head maid, became so worried about both of your health and sent me to give these orange juices for you two and those children outside."

With a chuckle, Randolph and the gray-robed old man picked up a gla.s.s and started to drink without even suspecting anything. Meanwhile, Abium simply stood there as if there he had no work to do.

As Randolph gulped down the orange juice, he started to frown. At the same time, the gray-robed old man drank half of the gla.s.s's juice and froze.

Both of them stood on the opposite sofas soon noticed they were poisoned and was about to shout!

But no words came out!

Clang! Clang!

Slowly both half-finished gla.s.ses fell on the floor from their hands and made a clanging noise.

Meanwhile, Abium placed that juice plate on the table, then slowly walked near to the wooden oak door and locked it from the inside.

He didn't have any worry about them being able to dispel the paralysis effect! Abium knew at least they wouldn't be able to do anything for the next thirty seconds.

Soon, Abium returned to the sofas while taking out a crossbow he purchased it from Lady Tabitha.

He quickly loaded it with poison bolt and aimed directly at that gray-robed old man's shoulder then pulled the trigger.

Swoos.h.!.+

In a flash, that metal bolt coated with poison penetrated that gray-robed old man's right shoulder. He didn't want that old man to die quickly, so he made sure to avoid hitting fatal areas.

Following that, he loaded another poison coated metal bolt and aimed at Randolph's shoulder then pulled the trigger.

In an instant, it directly entered Randolph's left shoulder, and the poison was starting to enter their body. At the same time, the paralysis effect starting to worn out, giving both of them to gasp for breath.

"Why?!" Randolph muttered in a hateful tone as he glared at Abium. Although he could talk now, he couldn't be able to move an inch of his muscle made his expression worse.

At the same time, Abium noticed that the gray-haired old man was trying his hard to touch the green gem embedded pendant on his neck.

Without even giving him any time, Abium arrived near to him and instantly s.n.a.t.c.hed it from that old geezer's neck.

He could feel some invisible power withing that item and felt s.h.i.+vered a little.

Without hesitation, Abium threw that pendant into his spatial ring and soon glanced at that old man's expression.

There were great anger and hatred emotions hidden within that man's eyes made Abium lips to curve upward. That old man looked at Abium like he had stolen his precious treasure from that old man.

"Tsk, do you know why both of you are in this state?" Abium clicked his tongue and asked while glancing at both of them.

"W-Who are you?" The gray-haired old man asked with bloodshot eyes.

Abium made a smug smile and quickly removed that faceless gla.s.s mask from his face and revealed his ident.i.ty.

But soon, he found out both of them didn't appear to know him and sighed.

"Heh, how did you forgot about me after you ordered to kill my soldiers and send their heads to me in bags?" Abium's expression went icy cold and asked with a sharp tone.

"Y-You did this for those six soldiers?" Randolph asked with disbelieving eyes. When they were in Moondale town, he thought the newly t.i.tled Baron would come back for revenge. But after they wait there for a week, they already forgot about Abium and even thought of him as a coward. Abium didn't reply to Randolph's question. Instead, he stared at that old man with dagger eyes and asked.

"Who are you? Why did you kill my soldiers?"

"Hehe, do you think I will tell you with these little threats? Laughable! You are just a chess piece, puny kid." That old man's arrogant tone made Abium's expression darkened. No! Not his arrogant tone, but something else made his emotion to rise instantly.

'Is he thinking I won't kill him?' Abium instantly loaded another bolt and directly pulled the trigger while aiming at that old man's forehead.

The next instant, the metal bolt directly penetrated that old man's forehead and killed him instantly, leaving Randolph dumbfounded. Randolph didn't expect this elven kid would kill ruthlessly without even batting an eye. Even Abium was surprised by his own behavior and felt something was not right!

Sigh!

"Now tell me, Elder Randolph, why shouldn't I kill you here and now?" Abium sat opposite to Randolph on the sofa and asked while aiming the crossbow towards his chest.

'Kid, can you move towards the table? I want to take a look at those two papers.' Azolla's voice echoed inside his mind making Abium little startle.

'What happened?' Abium asked while creasing his brow and stood up, then started moving towards the wooden table near to Randolph's right side.

'Hmm, isn't it look like abyssal language writing?' Abium frowned. Although he doesn't know the meaning of these words, he was sure it was an abyssal language.

'How come there is an abyssal language appear here? It looks like there is a deep secret lying here.' Abium quickly picked those two pieces of paper and started asking.

'Azolla, can you able to decipher these words?'

'Hmm, it is an old abyssal language only used by higher chaos beings. Most of the letters are very hard even to write. But I can decipher it for you. If you have time, I can send the knowledge about this language to you.' Azolla's words made him breathed out a sigh of relief.

"No! Give that back!" As Abium was about to put it inside his spatial ring, Randolph started to shout with a low voice. His face now looks white due to the poison, and his breath grew ragging.

"Tell me then. Where did you get these two paper?" Abium s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards Randolph and asked curiously.

"I-Its our family ancestor Novak's diary. We don't know what is written in those two scrips." Randolph said with a grumbled voice.

'Oh? Kid, ask him, does he have any other scripts like this?' Azolla suddenly became so interested and started to speak inside his mind.

"Do you have any other scripts like this?" Abium asked.

"I have another three scripts in our family ancestral hall, but I won't give it to you. Our Novak's family elder gave those scripts to different families and even hid it from the church's eyes in various places before his death. He said that in this diary contains a deep history of an empire, and our ancestor was the only person who escaped from that empire's destruction." Randolph said with a serious tone and even revealed many secrets made Abium speechless.

'Moreover, An empire? Which empire? I never heard of an empire got destroyed in any history books.' Abium frowned deeper and asked quickly.

"Do you know the name of the empire?"

But Randolph gave a bitter smile and replied while shaking his head.

"We don't even know what is written in this paper. But there is a prophecy our ancestor Novak told us before his death. 'When the chaos arrives, collect those remaining pieces and bring it to the south. An ent.i.ty will be there to protect you.' That's what he said." Abium began to feel some utter motive hidden within those words and quickly glanced to his left side at the gray-haired elder and asked.

"Who is he? Why did he order your son to kill my soldiers?" Abium doesn't care much about this so-called history for now. All he needed was the answer.

"He is the one who came here to ask anyone script from me in exchange for gold, and he came here to tell me there is someone who could decipher these words. As for why did he killed your soldiers, he told me it would be beneficial for us if we managed to enslave your soul using a special artifact. The wealth contains in your Alastall territory is immeasurable, and we thought of controlling you to plunder the whole wealth." Randolph said with a self-mocking laugh.

'Enslave me? Is he a necromancer? Possible!' Abium's eyes instantly lit up and quickly picked up the spatial ring on that gray-haired old man and examined it.

Next instant, Abium's expression grew solemn as he confirmed that gray-haired old geezer really was a necromancer!

'Moreover, he appears to be a first-tier necromancer! I thought he was a fourth tier warrior. d.a.m.n, if he had found out there was paralysis poison in the juice earlier, it would have ended differently.' Cold sweats began to drip down from his forehead, and soon he asked.

"What is his name? Tell me more about him."

"His name is Baxter. We became friends when I was younger. From time to time, he sends me letters and asks about what is happening in the kingdom. He has a mysterious background, and I don't know anything much about him. This time he came to our capital with his friend and came to see me." Randolph said without hiding anything.

'Hmm, this Baxter must have arrived here to his friend with the same motive as those necromancers.' As Abium was in deep thought, a slow knocking sound came from outside, followed by a woman's anxious voice.

"My lord, did Charles entered your room?"

It was the head maid!

Abium glanced towards Randolph and signaled him to reply.

"Yeah, he is with me. Don't worry; I just need his help." Randolph understood Abium's meaning and quickly replied.

Soon, Abium heard the footsteps moving farther away and breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Now, on to business. I will take Baxter's corpse with me. As for the cure to the poison, there is no cure for you. You will lose your strength slowly and die in a few months. Also, don't say anything about this incident to others. If you did that, you better wait for the consequence. Of course, I won't do anything to you, but I will ma.s.sacre your whole lineage." Said Abium, then moved towards Randolph's back and directly knocked him unconscious using the sword hilt. Following that, he erased that spiritual mark on that Baxter's spatial ring and replaced it with his own then stored Baxter's body inside.

'Okay, it's time for me to go.' Abium quickly changed his clothes and directly opened that slider window then jumped from the second floor to the ground without making much noise. Slowly, he blended into the darkness and left the mansion without alerting those guards.
