Tristan's insides were shaken by the Tree's energy blast. Tristan quickly transformed into his energy form. He was going to defeat this tree.

The tree was still shrieking and it's branches were still waving around. Tristan burst towards the Tree stem when a branch came towards him and slapped him. The branch was slapped Tristan and shockwaves of energy were emitted, however Tristan stood firm and internally urged the energy in his body to propel outwards.

Suddenly, a powerful blue burst of light emitted from Tristan's hand and clashed with the incoming branch and a shockwave pushed Tristan back, however, the branch was significantly damaged.

The tree yelled even more loudly, angry at being hurt and a huge energy wave spread from its bark in all directions. Tristan found it impossible to evade and decided to meet it head on with his energy. He brought both his hands together and a ray of light collided with the incoming wave of energy.

It took a huge effort, but Tristan's concentrated energy blast managed to block the Tree. Tristan sighed and once again rushed towards the stem to damage it directly. The branches swung again to blast him away, but Tristan dodged them as he moved swiftly. His Domain of Perception helped him even see energy movements cleanly, unlike before, and Tristan reached the bark.

Tristan came to the mouth of the tree and saw that it was going to erupt with those powerful radiant waves of energy again and quickly detonated all the energy he could harness near the mouth of the tree. A huge explosion blinded everything in sight and a few minutes later, the half damaged energy body of Tristan finally got up from the ground, gathering energy from the surroundings to rapidly reform.

Tristan looked at where the Tree used to be. The tree had died, but Tristan had lost most of his energy body in the process as well. He found a small glowing piece of wood like object where the Tree was.

"Looks like that is the Tree's energy core." Tristan said as he quietly picked up the energy core. But when he saw the intensity, he was shocked. Tristan quickly checked his quest for energy body evolution and his shock was verified.

The tree had not even evolved once and was not counted in his quest. He, an evolved energy body was barely able to defeat a Tree which hadn't been evolved yet. The tree had the inherent disadvantage of being stuck in one place as well, although it had a long reach.

"My Energy Body is really weak. Esprit even said I hadn't unlocked the full potential of the body and a skill of this body is locked. I don't even have an Energy art and ended up struggling by just freely manipulating energy and using brute force. This Tree's wave of energy should be some kind of Energy technique." Tristan quietly a.n.a.lyzed.

He looked at the core in his hands, he could feel the core being slowly eaten up by Tristan's energy body, but there was no noticeable effect from it. However, at that moment, Tristan could see a hazy illusion of the way the energy moved around and inside the tree just before the blast. The illusion quickly disappeared before Tristan could properly understand it.

"Is this the use of the Tree's energy core? May be I can understand its innate Energy manipulation ability, but the illusion was too hazy. I need to find more of these energy trees." Tristan sighed and began walking again. He had long ago strayed from the path and every place looked identical. He was thus unsure where he was going.

Meanwhile, White Wine was giving advice to the four freshmen who had come to his hut. Suddenly he stopped and looked to the distance. "Hmm? Those weird Trees are crying."

"What happened Teacher White?" Andrea asked with curiosity. She had been practicing this new technique White Wine had taught her.

White Wine shook his head. "There are some bizarre trees in this world, they are quite rare. They look like trees but are some kind of energy life form. I just... felt like they were scared just now."

Meanwhile, Tristan had found another of those Golden Tree creatures. Without waiting, he attacked it, however this Tree was extremely aggressive. The leaves of the tree turned into blades made of energy and shattered parts of Tristan's energy body, but Tristan still struggled and managed to defeat it. He then took its core and as it was absorbed, he could feel one thought, revenge, from the core followed by another hint of the complicated circuitry through which the Tree controlled energy.

Tristan spent half an hour resting and absorbing energy from the background to regenerate the shattered parts of his energy body as he shook his head. He began thinking about the complicated manner in which the Trees had been circulating energy, it somehow made their attacks much stronger using less energy. Still he couldn't see the whole picture and decided to go looking for more of these trees. As long as they weren't huddled together, he could take them on.

Some time later, White Wine frowned again. "Has someone infiltrated the secret world? Why are those trees crying to each other?" He spread his spirit sense in the direction of where he heard the last crying tree and sensed that a battle had taken place there and the Tree had died.

He stood up. "Students, you all can continue exploring this world. I need to see who is messing around with the gold trees." Saying so he disappeared.

The other four nodded and then left the hut, continuing to explore the area.

A minute later, White Wine had arrived at the first site of battle. "The tree fought against another energy creature, the opponent's use of energy is incredibly sloppy, yet it won." He soon rushed to the second battle site. "There is some improvement in energy control, this time, but the Trees also seemed prepared for the enemy yet this tree lost."

Later he finally reached the fifth spot. Five trees had now died. However this site left him shocked. "The attacker has disappeared? Why do I only see the tree's energy attacking itself? Wait... the attacking energy creature used the Trees energy style! Did one of the trees go berserk and decide to kill the other trees?"
