"Your late," he murmurs as I walk pa.s.s him and into the locker-room in the far back near his office.
"Am not," I say as I lock my things up. I turn to find him leaning on the doorframe, arms crossed. He's surrounded by a cool aura like always with a hint of darkness that makes him all to alluring.
"What's wrong?" he asks as I tie my violet-blue and black hair up into a ponytail.
"Nothing," I lie, it's for the best. I can feel the war coming, there's no use making nice with him. After all, he'll pay the price if he and the others learn who I truly am.
"Violet," he says as he takes hold of my arm and pulls me back to him.
"What?"
"You can tell me anything, you know that, right?"
"Yeah, I know. Can you let go?" I ask as Crystel appears before us, her fiery red hair down around her shoulders and waist. She wears golden heels and bracelets along with a white c.o.c.ktail dress that makes her look like some sort of G.o.ddess.
"Hey luvs," she says as Alex lets go of my arm.
"Hey Cry," I say as I make my way back to the bar and leave them behind. The rest of the night goes by in a blur as I serve drink after drink. That is until a mongrel asks for "Dragon's Blood."
"You want what?" I ask.
"Dragons Blood," she repeats.
"Your mad," I say as I tap Billy on the shoulder "cover for me," I whisper in his ear and he nods. I jump the bar, grab the girl by the arm and take her to the closed area were Alex and the others sit. "Wait here," I tell her.
"Hey…"
"No," I shake my head and whisper to Alex "she wants Dragons Blood," I nod at the pretty blond.
"Really?" Alex asks as he gestures for Sam and Rio to take her.
"Yeah," I turn to leave only to be stopped by Crystel.
"No, Billy can handle the bar. Come on," she says as all that sat with her and Alex follow Sam, Rio and the girl into the back room where Alex tends to "talk" to his enemies.
"All she asked for's Dragons Blood, I don't see why you have to bring her back here," I say.

"She's the second mongrel that finds a way in only to ask for Dragons Blood," Alex says with an atrocious grin. 'Who are you?"
"Eliza Montrell," the girl answers not seeming affected by Alex's grin or the fact that she's tied to a chair.
"Eliza, how did you get in?" Crystel asks with a voice that makes you feel like you're on morphine.
"Can't you see she doesn't need that," I say when Eliza doesn't respond but instead looks at us like she's high.
"Well what do you propose we do?" Crystel asks.
"Let me," I say and slap Eliza then take her face between my hands and press my forehead against hers. I go through clouded thoughts, "she's been compelled," I say as I push forward and find two red eyes looking back at me. "Let me guess, your Joel." "You know who I am?" the eyes ask. "What do you think?" I say as I reach even further and shove him out of Eliza's head.
"What did you see?" Alex asks.
"I know how she got in."
"An?" Crystel ask as I walk out of the room and into the locker-room grab my things and leave.
"Violet!" Alex shouts as I walk out the back door and into the alley. "Wait," he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me tightly against his chest.
"Let go," I say through gritted teeth, as the wind blows from the north.
"Not until you tell me what you saw," he says as he pulls my hair loose from its ponytail.
"Why?"
"It's my Club; I need to know how she got in."
"No, you don't,' I say as I try to pull loose only to have him tighten his hold on me still with one arm.
"Violet, I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to," whispers as Crystel appears before us. Her eyes blazing.
"Well?"
"No," I say and this time he lets me go. I jump up to the window of the conjoining building before landing on the roof; I look down at them only briefly before taking off.
