Seeing Leo looking down, everyone on the table wanted to cry. *I was 12 when i first sensed mana, thought Gunther* *I was 11 when i first sensed mana, thought Travis* *I was 7 when i first sensed mana, thought Edward* Sarah broke the silence and said, " congratulations young master Leo". Now looking at Ed and Nessa, she said,"congratulations your grace". Only now did they remember that they hadn't said anything. Gunther and Travis also congratulated them.
The matter of Leo sensing mana at age 4 is something that could threaten his life so it was to remain a secret between all of them sitting on the dinning table.
Not wanting Leo's talent to waste, Vanessa looked at Ed and said," since he can't join the academy yet, you will teach him the basics". Ed agreed and hurriedly ate his food. Then she smiled at Leo and said gently, " darling, go with you father ok? He is going to teach you how to use that energy to become stronger". She kissed his cheek and patted his head. Not understanding what was going on, Leo nodded and smiled back at his mom. Ed looked at Nessa with protest in his eyes and said, "don't I deserve gentle kisses and patting?" She looked at him, smiled and asked,"last night fun wasn't enough?" Leo looked at his parents and asked innocently, "mom, dad why would you play at night? Wasn't it dark already? Hearing this his parents faces flushed red. Sarah, Gunther and Travis laughed out loud.
*at the training ground*
Edward led Leo by hand and sat him on the floor of the training ground. He looked sternly at his son and asked, "Leonardo, what is your aim in getting stronger?" Leo looked at his father's serious face and thought for a while. He recalled all he had read in the family library about the world he was in. He knew that the reason for his well being was basically because his parents where both powerhouses recognized across the continent. He had a hunch that although the demon race were silent for now, it wouldn't be long before trouble would arise. He also recalled the dreams that he had frequently. He didn't want to be powerless and lose his beloved ,although he had no idea what he was feeling for this "beloved", he could still feel the pain, from the memories he saw in his dreams, of losing what he loved and cherished.
He looked at his father, with seriousness and determination all over his face, he said, "father, I need strength to protect what I love, what's mine and all those I care about".
