Like usually, I woke up flawless. Beauty routine, check. Outfit, check. Face mist, check. Perfume, check. Money in card, check. Shoes, check.
After my morning checks, I stepped out of my apartment to explore the mall. My dad's birthday was coming up, and I had no idea what to get him. After roaming around the food stores to satisfy my rather large appet.i.te, I made my way to the men's department. With my icecream cone in one hand, I fished out my phone while dancing to my catchy Hyolyn "Dally" ringtone. It was my lovely granny.
"Hi granny"
"Congratulations baby. Someone finally took you off my hands," Granny said in a really confident tone.
"What did you do again this time?"
"I just returned from the mall after meeting with my grandson-in-law. He is coming for you soon."
Before registering what my lovely granny said, she had hung up and I was left dumbstruck. She didn't leave me with any information about this potential suitor, and she just left me hanging. Surprisingly, I was looking forward to meeting this man. I took after my granny, so I believed in her taste.
"He's at the mall?" I asked myself as granny's voice echoed in my mind.
"Oh well. We meet when we meet Mister," I thought as I took a bite out of my strawberry Haagen dazs and resumed my walk to the men's store.
"I'm sorry Ms. Seraphina. You're pretty but..."
That was what I heard as I walked past a well built man, catching a sniff of his Polo Red perfume. Very manly, I thought to myself.
"But what?"
My question caught him off guard. He stared at me for a while, and the perverted me couldn't help but think he was imagining me with my clothes off. I wanted to get a dissecting knife to pluck his eyes out, but the biologist in me ruled that unethical.
"You're Seraphina Jacob"
His voice was baritone, smooth, and enchanting. My name rolled off of his lips and at that moment, I mentally thanked my parents for naming me Seraphina. My name sounded so good coming out of his mouth.
"You're mine", he said. I instinctively wanted to nod and acknowledge, but I snapped back to my senses when I realized he was the man granny gave me to. OMG! I need to see granny right now. I had no idea how I looked leaving his sight, or what impression I left on him. All I could to do at that moment was run. Not out of anger, but excitement. I bagged a hot guy.
