"Are you nervous about meeting gran?"
"Is it that obvious?"
"She loves you already"
"That's without a doubt"
"Show off"
"I'll buzz you when I'm down."
"Okay."
I've had this unsettling feeling ever since granny texted me the lunch date address.
'Cafe B, private room 2.'
If I remember right, the private room caters to 5 people or more. After various confirmations, my count always added up to 3: Me, silver eyes, and granny.
"It wouldn't be that she was inviting the whole family, right?"
I brushed off the feeling, granny most likely wanted a private room for whatever reason. Plus my mom said she had an outing today, so she definitely wasn't invited by gran.
Quincy left for work in the morning after we had breakfast together. It was the first time I had breakfast in months. How he got into my apartment was yet to be answered, but I had a clear guess as to where he had gotten my pa.s.sword from.
He was on time to pick me up and we made our way to granny. We arrived at 2pm and headed straight towards the private room. Thankfully, only granny was there.
"Gran gran"
"You look happier," she stated with a beaming face.
"I've always looked liked this," I rolled my eyes at her.
"Hi granny Jacob."
"There's the spicy guy," she said as she winked at him and made her way over for a group hug.
First things first. I had to confirm my suspicion.
"Granny, why did you get a private room?"
"For privacy, duhhh."
"But it's just the three..."
Before I could say "... of us," my grandpa strutted in and behind him were Old men and wives Jenkins and James.
"It's a trap darling," Quincy whispered in my ear as we both stared at the door in utter disbelief.
"Why are you so surprised? It's tradition. Flora and Claudia should have tales to tell," my granny stated as she laughed mischievously.
Here I was thinking it was gonna be the parent circle, then it turned out to be the grandparent circle.
"It's alright. Dinner's gonna be better," Quincy told me as I composed myself and stared down at my granny.
