The shocking view was no other people than the 3 older stooges: Janet Jacob, Regina Jenkins, and Barbara James, our grandmothers.
"Clearly, they abandoned the old guys for your juicy gossip," Seraphina said, clearly stating the obvious.
The 3 stooges laughed awkwardly as they made their way into the room and sat on the bed.
"When Summer texts late at night that there's gonna be gossip, why would we waste our time with those old men?" Barbara was the first to speak up.
That was why she was looking all relaxed. She knew they were at the door eavesdropping. You'd think she'd be all celestial and not paying attention to the worldly things. Sadly, she's the most perverted gossip in the family.
My mom and granny had been terrorizing me about "the man" for the longest time. The betrayer that sold me out looked so calm like she wasn't in the same s.p.a.ce as the rest of us. She really is the odd ball, but we all love her.
"We heard your phone. Why aren't you checking?" Janet asked as she tried to peek at my phone.
"You guys aren't leaving?" I watched on as they made themselves extremely comfortable by grabbing pillows to rest on.
"Seriously Winnie. A young man, their granddaughter, love bubble and cupid's arrow... and you think the old women would leave," Flora said sarcastically.
"You've pretty much heard it all my 3 angels," I said as I tried to get them out.
"But we haven't heard it all," Barbara replied as she pointed at my phone with a smirk.
I gave up on driving them out and checked my phone. It was Justin.
Military man: Did you get home safely?
I saved his name as that. I mean, which girl doesn't love a st.u.r.dy military man. All those abs and the sweat that runs down to the V area gets us all excited.
WinWinnie: Yes I did. You?
If he was smart enough, he'd realize the underlying message in my contact name, "win Winnie... win over Winnie..."
Military man: I did.
Military man: You should go to bed soon. Beautiful girls don't stay up late.
I was grinning so hard, my cheeks might as well have merged with my eyes.
Before I could reply, my phone vanished.
Looking over towards the hand that grabbed my phone, I was stunned when I heard it ringing; not my ringtone but a dial tone.
Probably as stunned as I am, Justin picked up on the second ring.
It all happened so fast that I couldn't save it on time. When I got to my phone, I saw Justin looking all dumbfounded.
It was a videocall.
