Chapter 229: Death and Conspiracy (32)

Jin Xiangdong took Lu Jia’er’s words as saying for him to mistrust his family. “Jia’er, trust me, I won’t let anyone hurt you, not even my family!”

Lu Jia’er was seized by complicated feelings when she saw how sincere Jin Xiangdong was. Though it was difficult to accept that she was an advanced AI, Jin Xiangdong’s situation pained her heart much more. Since the very beginning, he had no idea that he was… a subst.i.tute.

Jin Xianglan turned to her brother and seconded him, “Professor Lu, we won’t hurt you!”

Upon hearing this, Lu Jia’er turned her gaze toward Jin Xianglan. The latter’s shrewd-looking eyes were fixed on Lu Jia’er. While Lu Jia’er could not hear the inner voice of Jin Xianglan, she could tell that there was some truth to Jin Xianglan’s words judging by her expressions.

Jin Xianglan would not harm Lu Jia’er. After all, to successfully create an advanced AI like Lu Jia’er would cost a large amount of research funds, knowledge, technological skills, and energy. If Lu Jia’er was the most advanced AI currently, she would be the pride of the development team naturally.

Before today, Lu Jia’er would never have admitted that she could be aggressive. However, as she was upgraded and as the environment was changing and more truths were revealed to her, she was transforming as well. Just now, she and Jin Xiangdong defeated two groups of security guards. Her potential was being tested.

In front of Lu Jia’er in her current condition, Jin Xianglan dared to deal with her by herself. Lu Jia’er didn’t know if Jin Xianglan was overly confident. Well, yes, humans were smart but usually, they were full of themselves as well.

Lu Jia’er’s hostile looks softened. “Where is the conference room?”

“This way, please.” Jin Xianglan even used the word “please”.

But Lu Jia’er remained unmoved. Jin Xianglan had to change her words. “Follow me.”

As soon as Jin Xianglan turned around, Lu Jia’er took out a gun with her right hand from behind her waist. She rushed over and abducted Jin Xianglan the next second.

Lu Jia’er out her left arm around Jin Xianglan’s neck and pointed the gun at her head. Lu Jia’er said into Jin Xianglan’s ears, “Do you think I bought it when you said you wouldn’t harm me? Don’t be c.o.c.ky. You may not hurt me but that doesn’t mean I won’t hurt you!”

Jin Xiangdong was shocked. He would neer have believed that Lu Jia’er would take such actions like abducting his sister. “Jia’er!”

But Lu Jia’er interrupted him. “Ace, do as I say!”

Jin Xianglan, who was being held captive, was not in a panic. She was rather calm. “Professor Lu, what do you want to do?”

“Take you as a hostage.” Lu Jia’er gave a brief answer.

Jin Xiangdong, who was in a panic, tried to talk to her. “Jia’er, calm down!”

“Ace, I am calm.” Lu Jia’er said to Jin Xiangdong and then pressed Jin Xianglan, “Tell me, where is Ian being kept?”

“I have nothing to tell you about Ian.” Jin Xianglan was not cooperating.

Lu Jia’er pressed the gun on Jin Xianglan’s head. “Nothing to tell me? Aren’t you afraid that I will murder you?”

“Professor Lu, I suggest you put the gun down!” Jin Xianglan reasoned with Lu Jia’er even-tempered.

“What if I don’t?” Lu Jia’er snorted.

Jin Xianglan replied, “You cannot leave even with me as your hostage.” Having said so, Jin Xianglan tried to reach her wrist.w.a.tch.

Lu Jia’er noticed it. She grabbed Jin Xianglan’s hand and twisted it backward. Jin Xianglan cried out in pain and her expression twisted as she tried to pull away.

Lu Jia’er’s actions took Jin Xiangdong by surprise again. “Jia’er! She is my sister!”

“Ace, she is not your sister!” Lu Jia’er wanted to tell him the truth. At the same time, she didn’t forget to tighten her grip on Jin Xianglan’s hand.

Jin Xiangdong tried to appeal to Lu Jia’er’s mercy, “Jia’er, I know that it is hard for you to accept that my family developed you. But, hear me out…”

Before he could finish, Lu Jia’er cut him off again. “She is really not your sister!”

Jin Xiangdong looked at her, confused. Lu Jia’er went on in a haste, “Both you and I are just test subjects created by her and Jin Shengping!”
