Henry looked at Richard and hesitated. He was one of the most powerful human magicians and his pride was against accepting the offer, but if he declined, death would be awaiting him.

He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came. His back was soaked in sweat. He knew if he said anything wrong, he would be dead. What was more important? His pride or his life? If he submitted to Richard, he was sure that the path awaiting him would be against the humans.

That choice was really difficult to make. He knew that there was no escape for him now. He had to answer. His life so far was all for the humans. He had no family, but there were a lot of friends who waited for his return.

'I knew it. We should have just given up and run away after meeting him.' He thought. The human empire was important to him. He loved to help others in needs. If only his good friend Alfred was a bit more restrained, or if he had told him to retreat, there wouldn't be a situation like this one now.

Henry took a deep breath and finally spoke.

"Alright, I will become your slave."

After all, his life was more important. Even though with that decision he would betray the humans, that was his only choice in the end.

Richard's smile widened. He cut a small wound on his left hand and pressed it to Henry's mouth. It was obvious what was expected of him to do.

Henry felt the taste of metal in his mouth. It wasn't disgusting. Actually, it was a bit sweet and hot. More blood gathered in his mouth and he finally swallowed it.

Richard looked from the side. After Henry finished, Richard bit in his neck. Henry's face lost all its colors. Even if he wanted to resist, he was already exhausted after the battle. What's more, Richard was a Demon Lord who could kill him with one move. After a few seconds, Richard stopped drinking.

'Become my slave. Kneel down and obey me!'

Richard's gaze moved to Erin. The wound from her shoulder to her stomach was big, but not fatal. The problem was that some of Alfred's energy was still inside the wound. Richard frowned and waved his hand. A shadow extended from him and engulfed the remaining golden energy.

Finally, he looked at Lyse. She was now like a statue. Her body was fully frozen and there was a layer of ice around it. That was self-preserving magic, which was triggered once Lyse was on the verge of death. Richard extended his shadows and his frowned more. His gaze moved to Erin once again. After hesitating for a few moments, he finally cast another shadow. Lyse was soon engulfed in it and her body disappeared from sight.

Richard extended his senses in all directions. He tried to locate Alfred but failed. Glancing back at Erin and the others, he sighed.

"Make a shelter."

Henry nodded weakly after hearing the order. He slowly stood up and started looking for materials. The thing that shocked him most at that moment was that his energy was recovering in unbelievable speed, so he would be able to take care of the shelter without any problems.

Richard came next to Erin. He picked her up from the ground and put his already slit hand to her lips. Droplets of blood entered her mouth and she had no choice but to gulp them in her unconscious state. After a few more attempts to make her drink his blood, Richard finally saw Erin's face recover some of its colors.

He looked around, still holding Erin in his embrace. After some time, he waved his hand and shadows extended from him once again. The shadows engulfed Anna and Seth and moved back to Richard.

He looked around and found a good spot for shelter. The place was still intact, thanks to his protection. He moved there and sat down, his back pressing to a tree. With another wave of his hand, the shadows around him retreated. Anna and Seth were now next to him, too.

Richard looked at the girl in his arms and his lips lifted upwards. He gently put her down in his lap and couldn't help but stretch his arm and touch her hair. Lastly, his hand moved to her forehead and pressed slightly on it. With his other hand, he pressed on her wound. With that, he started to channel energy directly to her body. That way her wound would close even faster.

After about half an hour, Henry finished the shelter and came back to Richard, waiting for his next command. He saw that Richard was now sitting with closed eyes. His hands pressed on Erin and the energy that was transferred to her was visible even to the naked eye.

Henry's eyes almost widened from shock. He wasn't expecting for Erin to be so important to Richard. If that was the case, what would happen to him after she woke up? Would the days that were to come to be peaceful or full of suffering? Only thinking about it made him s.h.i.+ver.

"mmm"

Richard opened his eyes as he heard a weak sound. He looked to his left side and saw Anna opening her eyes. She propped her right hand to the ground and moved to a sitting position, while her other hand was on her forehead. After sitting up, she looked around with dull eyes. Spotting Henry in front of her, her eyes focused and she jumped up, preparing to fight against him.

"No need to fight. He is my slave now"

Anna froze for a moment, finally turning around to look at Richard and Erin in his embrace. The confusion was clearly written on her face, but it disappeared quickly.

"Yes, My Lord."

She made a small bow and looked back at Henry. The desire to attack him was still visible in her eyes, but she restrained herself. After looking around a few more times, she finally sat down as well, her back leaning against a tree as well. She needed to rest a bit more to recover fully.

"Start a fire and make one more shelter."

Richard gave another command to Henry. He bowed and moved around to collect some wood for the fire. After a few minutes, he stacked the branches that he found and cast a small fire from his hand. The fire was now lit. With that, Henry turned around and looked for more materials for the next shelter.

"Anna, cook something for us"

Anna opened her eyes and acknowledged Richard's words with a small nod. Richard didn't make a command to her, but he was still her lord. That was enough for her to take action. She disappeared in the forest looking for some prey.

Just when Anna had left, Seth opened his eyes as well. He abruptly stood up and looked around, his posture ready for battle. After spotting Richard, he relaxed. Henry started to build the second shelter little by little. When he was done, Anna was already back from hunting. Her catch this time was an earth lizard. It was big enough for all of them to eat. She started preparing it for their meal, while Henry finished the shelter.

Richard opened his eyes one more time and looked down at Erin. Her eyes were tightly closed as if she was having a nightmare. He looked at her wound, but it was fully closed now. Part of her skin was now visible from the torn clothes. He gulped and moved his gaze to the others. After seeing them look at his direction, he pressed Erin against his chest, hiding her half-naked body from them. His eyes were now focused on Henry and Seth, the killing intent in them clearly visible.

Both of them hastened to turn their gazes away. They were only waiting for orders, nothing more. Now they had to worry about Richard's wrath.

Richard took a deep breath and stood up, holding Erin still in his embrace.

"Anna, come with me. I need your help to change Erin's clothes"

Anna nodded. She followed him inside the shelter, but her mouth twitched all the time. She was on the verge of laughing. The reaction of her lord was a normal reaction. Even she would be angry if others looked at her master's naked body. But still, she couldn't restrain herself from smiling.

Richard put Erin on the ground and hesitated for a moment. Finally, he turned around and left the shelter, letting Anna change Erin's clothes. He couldn't help but let a small smile creep on his face as well. His girl had finally fully awakened her powers. Now it was only a matter of time before she woke up.
