Spiritual Seed Awakening 11 Chapter 11 A New Flavor

I awaken to find my second body, and core still intact. The first major change I've noticed since awakening are new scales just like the snake corpse. I mean I'm still a worm for the most part, but the scales and retractable fangs are a nice touch. I also think I got the slow regeneration ability. It's not as good as the snakes, but it will help me survive this harsh environment. I also have gained some size. I'm still a seven-inch worm, but now I resemble a small eyeless snake.

The corpse of the snake is dried husk now. So I leave it. I still find it strange that I gained snake traits, but I think it had something to do with the corpse blood, and myself being a [corpse wine worm]. I still have a good amount of corpse wine in my core, so the name fits. I check my core and find the corpse wine is now a deeper shade of black. There also seems to be some subtle snake vibes from the corpse wine now. The snake like aura does not seem harmful. In fact, it there seems to be an improvement, so I will hunt more poison creatures.

The wine seems to need these poisons to become stronger I sense on instinct. The snake soul fragment also had finished being absorbed. There was not much left it besides its last moments, and it's meditation method experiences. I keep this in mind but do not use it with my main body. It may have some consequences that I am unaware of that I can't risk, but my second body is on a mission to get stronger.

The snake method should be safe enough, and useful while figuring out what my next steps are in this body. I begin to leave the burrow, I pause and begin to dig around the burrow til near collapse. I dig one last time and slam my tale on the last stable structure in the burrow. It now is the tomb of the corpse snake. It's the least I can do for my first prey.

I move underground towards some plants. I figured they might have better benefits for my main body since they are both plants based. These plants seem to be simple plants similar to gra.s.s. They are highly toxic in nature but lack sentience. My Corpse Wine Worm puedo serpent body is more keen to poison now.

These few patches of gra.s.s have enough poison in the tip of a leaf to kill a human in my past life ten times over. I begin to eat a plant. This feels more cannibalistic then I would like but I need the poison.There is no resistance besides an increased level of toxic being secreted on the surface on the plant. It's ineffective against me. I keep eating the plant. I absorb the manna and poison.

I dig into the ground to eat the roots. The roots hold fewer toxins. I do observe their root system though. I may need to better understand them when I germinate. I lay motionless as I channel the poison into the corpse wine in my body.

The toxic substance from the plant is slowly a.s.similated into the corpse wine. The corpse wine has changed greatly since I added the corpse blood, corpse snake poison, and the poisoned gra.s.s. It's now a more volatile poison. The death aura from the corpse poison seems to not mix as well with the plant poison, but it's not a strong rejection.

I think I will fight fire with fire. I won't eat any more poison from living sources. I think the corpse wine poison needs more corpse based poisons. The plant poison is not mixing well, but the potency of the plant, the high level is mana tells me it's not ordinary. The plant poison is beneficial but I better not eat any more stuff like this till my corpse poison can handle it. I only chose to eat this since it was the biggest one in the area.

I look at my body and notice the serpent features have not changed like last time. The only difference is the corpse poison in my body has begun to boil as the poisons fight eat other. I must quickly find another poison to fix this.
