The health points were a good indicator for the battle system, yet it doesn't seem to show up when Paolo attempted to glean information. The response from the system surprised him.

Upon hearing this, I decided to consult with the main body whether I should increase our level so that I can complete the main quest.

The main body rejected it and said that it's better to wait. I immediately calculated the amount needed to level up to 15 using system points manually. From level 10 to 15, I roughly needed 308,000 system points. Currently, I only had 85,000 points. Rather than level from 10 to 15, I levelled to 12, spending 60,000+ System points.

At this point, I heard a notification sound out from the system.

Anything lower than a 0 value indicates infamy, while anything above 0 indicates the good perception of the people about you.

This is how well you think and process the world around you, and how you decide your next course of action, or even understanding your abilities.

Your intelligence point/10 is your current wisdom value for 1-50 points of wisdom. Every 50 points past that, it becomes intelligence point/100, intelligence point/1000, etc.

I checked my current stats and abilities, and transferred my free attributes to my intelligence, increasing it by 10 points, while I added the remaining 10 points to my notoriety, making sure it was still positive.

I closed the status and opened my skill tree, unlocking the 5th-tier skill, [Memory Reading], under the lightning supportive skill tree.

User can choose one of the following as the default of the skill:

Perfect memory: Allows the user to have a 2%* skill level + (Wisdom value)% + (Luk point/100)% chance of completely reading the memories of the target. Failure to cast will result to a permanent decrease in intelligence point by 10.

Fragmented Memory: Allows the user to have a 5%* skill level + (Wisdom value)% + (Luk point/30)% chance of reading 50% of the memories of the target. Failure to cast will result to a permanent decrease in intelligence point by 5. Repeated use will not repeatedly get the same memories from the same target.

Incomplete Memory: Allows the user to have a 10%* skill level + (Wisdom value)% + (Luk point/10)% chance of reading 25% of the memories of the target. Failure to cast will result to a permanent decrease in intelligence point by 2. Repeated use will not repeatedly get the same memories from the same target.

After fixing my stats and abilities, I faced the leader this time, who I had incapacitated by breaking his bones in the legs and arms using the water pressure emitted from the [Torrential Bolt] skill.

Upon contact, I activated [Memory Reading: Fragmented Memory] spell, which successfully got 50% of his current memories. I used the waiting time to digest his memories.

Oh. It seems the party I just annihilated was part of the special squadron directly under the command of the commander-in-chief of Oz country, Saint Himmelmez. There were 10 elite parties under the special squadron, and this was the 8th strongest party of the special squadron.

I couldn't help but think of the future clashes I would have with these parties. Eh, what will come, will come, I said to myself, shaking my head for overthinking too much.

The remaining parts of the memory were merely secrets of the state that the special squadron was privy to as well as the members of the other parties.

After a few minutes of silence, I casted the spell again, gaining the remaining 50% of his memories. After digesting these memories, I got the important part: Information about Oz and this world.

It was far more complicated than what I initially thought.
