Close to the human city were many villages, these villages were under constant attack from hordes of monsters and other things that lived in this continent. It was truly survival of the fittest villages were being constantly attacked, but the Royal Guardsmen usually stepped in to protect them. This had been the only saving grace for the villagers, until recently the capital stopped sending aid to certain villages. Unless the villages gave the capital a large amount of their crops and earnings the capital would ignore the plights of the villages.
At first the villages kept up with the demands, but they could see how this had become quite a problem for them. They lost most of their reserves and soon they would no longer be able to protect themselves. That's when they began to trade for cultivation techniques and teach them to their children. That's when the capital stepped in taking the strongest cultivators for themselves, leaving the weak ones to defend the villages and die.
Cruxia had been chosen as one of the weak cultivators left with a few of her friends to defend their little village. She had dark purple hair with streaks silver lining her hair, fair light skin and deep yellow eyes. She had seen so many battles throughout her life that it was depressing. She had seen so many people she cared about die. She had been a survivor twenty years old, a lonely cultivator of the fourth stage. Only one of her friends had survived all of the troubles she had faced, he lay in the hospital now, bones broken from their last encounter with a demon beast they had found next to a s.h.i.+pment of goods. She had dropped him off after helping him from her shack.
They had both found a s.h.i.+pment that was headed for the capital. They found and read the note that had come with it.
"This is the netgear is an artifact given from myself to the people of your kingdom, enjoy the adventure cultivator. Once you begin you will see the power you wield increase several fold. There is a technique attached to this letter to power the artifact use it well. Good luck cultivators"
It also had instructions on when cultivators of different realms could join and how the items could be transferred out into the real world. This was a gift from the heavens the only problem was the city would obviously use this to their own selfish gain. There were one hundred and fifty gear helmets left, Cruxia secretly stole fifteen of them. Then returned the rest to the city if it was true that they could gain immense power from just using this gear she would risk her life to obtain it.
The small group entered the game finding it to be an interesting game of hunting creatures that were within their reach. Even though some were tough like the special bosses they never had any problems finis.h.i.+ng of the powerful ones. Eventually they landed on this keep quest to defend this powerful structure from monster waves. They had lost a couple of their party especially on the last wave but they had managed to not only free this demon lord but defeat a G.o.d avatar. Everyone had been rewarded. To the allies they lost they were given soul repair medicinal pills instead of these weird scrolls the ones that survived received. The best reward was her new weapon twin daggers that had amazing effects these would help with the defense of the village. She had the group of friends swear they would not tell anyone of what had happened it would be too dangerous if the city got word of their accomplishments. The city had experts of the fourth realm they could not afford to alert them to what they had done. She came and sat down with Faux helping him back into the bed, he had fought so wildly in the game full of life. He had recovered slightly especially that he was in the fifth stage. He had only begun at the third now in one night he was one of the most powerful young experts in the country. "It was the first good night we have had in long time. I can't believe I will say this, but I actually had fun." He said smiling. Faux had light purple hair with streaks of black, dark black skin, and light green eyes. He held a "Put that away if anyone see's you with it we will all be either killed or captured!" Cruxia whisper in a very serious tone. Faux did, then pulled out a book his master had lent him. "This book shows the way of the sword master said. He said this is the way a cool wielder of a katana should act, helping my cultivation increase a thousand fold. He said this was a literary masterpiece but not to follow the sword style just how he acts." He opened up the book reading Cruxia had not seen him so excited in a long time, to think he almost gave up on life before they had begun this new journey. This "other world" was a gift sent for them in this their greatest time of need. She could only hope to meet this powerful cultivator to thank them for this life saving game. She didn't care that they were ranked number one with two other sects she was just happy to be in position to help her village. Cruxia walked to a nearby hill where thirteen other experts waited for her. They were other cultivators like her wearing cloaks to hide their appearances. After exchanging greetings, they sat down to get down to business. "We did very well tonight." One of the figures started. "It was a good idea to keep this a secret the city would do almost anything to get the treasures we have acquired." Said another. "Make sure to keep this quiet, we need to be strong enough to defend ourselves in the future from both the monster waves and the city." Cruxia said. "This is the last time we should meet like this if anyone else has anything to say relay it through the game good luck to you all." The farthest cloaked figure said daring into the night. The group nodded disappearing into the night. ---------- A week had pa.s.sed since they had begun the game Cruxia had gotten used to spending time in game then outside of it. She checked her core: Sync: 3% To fully synchronize to her core, it would take about seven months apparently there were no shortcuts for this. She went out for patrol killing a few monsters here and there keeping the paths into town cleared out. There had been almost no major incidents in the past week with the new strength in most villages they were fairly safe. This had induced a seizure of goods in all villages in the area they less of their crops lost so the city thought they deserved better treatment. She knew the city was shameless but to this extent it made her furious. After scouting the area for about three hours she decided to head back home. That's when she saw it three very distinct figures two of them were very hurt they were both exuding distinctly powerful energies. The figure above them was trying to feed them something, but the energy it gave off wasn't human it was demonic energy!!!! She quickly hid the last time she had felt such energy the lord of the city went off to fight it before things went bad. The city lord had never returned now she felt the distinct energy again, only that she could tell the energy this being possessed was only that of the first stage. She smiled thinking she could save the two cultivators taking out the Demon with ease. She moved slowly getting a sneak attack in at this time would be easy, taking out her daggers she then dashed feet gliding off the ground. Once she reached her target he had turned around weapons in hand blocking her attack!! How was that possible she made no noise approaching him even a second realm monster beast would be caught off guard. The dagger strike reverberated with the tonfas in the hands of her opponents...
She carefully selected a group of cultivators to use this gear and used this mysterious technique charging the gear then took her group of fifteen cultivators to begin their journey. At first it was difficult to get used to the new world it was so bright! Full of colors she had never seen, she also had a master whom was quiet eccentric. She had chosen the Hunter cla.s.s
