-What DID I do wrong back then?

I don't get it, if it was related to my own self-worth then it doesn't really make sense. No one has had a problem with it before, so why would they suddenly have it now?

Maybe that's not the issue…

Then what is!?

I don't know…

I just don't know.

Why am I so bothered with this? It's very unlike me, the worst human who has lived his whole life in misery and loneliness. But for some reason, the event really bothers me.

The answer is probably right in front of me, but I'm too dumb to see it.

That would be proof of my claims, so no one can dispute my own self-worth. -

As I laid in bed, trying to piece the situation together, I reflected on the past couple of days.

The recent days had been some of the most eventful in my life, leading me to question my relations.h.i.+p with the club members.

What was my relations.h.i.+p with them?

I thought we were just fellow club members who were forced together by an oppressive ruler, rhyming with Konami.

Was I wrong,

or was that interpretation one-sided?

I had no idea, I had no way of reading other people's feelings or what they thought of me.

In my mind, it was impossible for someone to like me, or even accept me. I thought that people were just about able to coexist with me as long as I didn't bother them.

But the reaction I saw before told me something else, even if I was the worst human out there, that still meant that I was a human. Thus, I was obviously able to read the mood in certain situations and the general mood of the people around me.

I couldn't come up with an ulterior motive that would lead to such a response, perhaps I was too stupid to think of one.

Who knew?

It all came back to the same two options in the end.

Either I was too stupid to notice the underlying motives behind the people around me, or I was too stupid to read the mood and underlying feelings behind the people around me.

No matter which way I went, it still meant that I was too stupid.

My deep thinking stopped once I finally noticed the '1' notification on top of one of the icons on my 'FOV'. I clicked on it out of curiosity, and the desire to stop thinking about the same thing. That skill-sheet popped up in front of me with a notification resting in front of it, the notification said

-----------------------------------------------------

Congratulations on reaching level 2!

Because this is your first time leveling up, we're giving you double the number of skill points, totaling at 6 skill points.

-----------------------------------------------------

- The first question that popped into my mind when reading it was 'Who are 'we'', is there some kind of spiritual or nonspiritual group of people behind all of this? I have no clue, I haven't even pondered the question about what these powers actually are.

The whole concept behind these powers is so weird. I mean, beyond the fact that there are power systems in the real world, there is the thing that Kanton said. That these powers are supposed to 'reflect who you are, who you are destined to be, and who you want to be'. I don't know if I can say that about my sheet of powers. It just seems like a confused collection of semi-OP powers that I don't deserve.-

Upon reading it and clicking the 'Understood' b.u.t.ton, I was returned to the quite large sheet of abilities.

The sheet now looked like

I closed the sheet of powers because I decided not to upgrade anything. Since I did not deserve it, I decided to simply not do it. Although I thought about upgrading the Hotou Kaito system, I thought that I could just do it tomorrow.

Suddenly when I was lying in the bed trying to sleep, I heard a loud

*KYAAAH*

I ignored the sound, thinking it probably was some drunk people wandering and screaming out on the streets.

The once orange-toned room that I was staying in had now turned into a black-toned room only lit up by the street lights outside.

Immediately when I sat down on the bed, I heard a familiar sound outside

"SORAAA!"

I reacted instantly and started running towards the window, but in the time it would take to snap a finger, a young boy suddenly appeared outside of the window, looking into the room.

I stopped my running out of reflex and the boy wearing a skin-tight military uniform opened the window and smiled smugly.

The boy stepped into the room and said

"You must be the rumored Kenjiro Asukara, right?"

I said

"No, I think you have the wrong person"

The boy turned bright-red and said

"O-O-Oh, I'm sorry to have bothered you..."

The boy then slowly walked out of the window, legs shaking a bit.

A couple of minutes pa.s.sed while the boy went around the building looking in every room.

I took the opportunity to walk up to the window and look out, there wasn't anybody there. Did the guilt from before make me hallucinate?

"you b.a.s.t.a.r.d, YOU ARE KENJIRO ASUKARA!"

*SHATTER*

The madman broke through the window by jumping in with his feet first.

The young boy was visibly upset and went up to me and grabbed my collar, he said

"Don't waste my time, I wasn't here to kill you. I'm simply here to discuss"

I threw my hands up into the air and said

"I understand, start talking then."

He dropped my collar and I proceeded to sit down on the bed. The boy then slowly walked around the room while talking

"So basically, we've captured your friend with the blue hair, I don't remember her name. Before you start fuzzing over it, I want to let you know that we won't hurt her. She's just there to bait you out of here. We could have fought you here, but we don't want to destroy this building in the process so we thought stealing her would be a better option. Also, don't even think about just not going. If you don't arrive before sunrise, something will happen to that girl.

I'm not quite sure what will happen to her, because my superior hasn't told me yet.

But she could die, or she could become an a.s.set of the company: basically a slave. I don't know, but it won't be nice.

As long as you come, we'll release her.

Hate me as much as you want, but I'm not the one who issued this mission. The boss did, and I will follow the orders he put out."

I chuckled for a bit before I said

"So your plan is to take me out while I'm in a weakened state. I'm not even going to complain, that's definitely the smartest thing to do right now. But to think that you're doing so much to take out the worst person out there, kind of strange.

Your boss seems to be a competent guy though, to act this fast on something.

Give me the location, I'll get there."

The boy looked at me strangely, probably expecting a completely different response. He walked past me and dropped a folded piece of paper in my hand before disappearing.

I grabbed the piece of paper and looked out of the window with a tired facial expression.

To me it was obvious for me to go, it was me who caused the situation to begin with.

It was obvious, but still…

There was a tiny voice in the back of my mind telling me to not go.

Whispering egoistic things that would ease my life at the moment tremendously.

The voice was a first for me, I had never heard anything similar to it before.

I was firm on going there, but the voice still remained in the shadows.

- This day never ends, problem after problem just comes at me. I'm tired, I just want to go home and watch Anime…

But I have things to do and little time to do it, so I have no choice but to just pull through.

Talk about a never-ending night.-

~Several minutes before~

"Hey there, young lady. How are we this day?"

Sora stopped in her tracks, so did Aya who was walking slightly behind her. The both of them looked at the newly-arrived middle-aged man with uncomfortable eyes. Aya nodded towards Sora, and Sora started walking again.

Takuchu backed up a bit and placed himself in front of Sora. He said

"Wait there, I have some business with you…

You see, I---"

*DON*

The sound of a jump kick from Satos.h.i.+ reverberated throughout the street and Takuchu bent himself down in pain and held the source of pain with his hand.

Satos.h.i.+ immediately commented

"Stop acting like a h.o.r.n.y teenager, you perverted b.a.s.t.a.r.d!

If you're gonna do it, just do it.

Get to the point!"

Takuchu stood up quickly and shouted

"Shut up! Let me do my thing, you go complete your part of the mission!"

Satos.h.i.+ smacked his lips and started walking towards the building behind Sora and Aya.

Aya made mental preparations for some sort of offensive once she heard 'mission'. It was sort of hard to see what the allegedly perverted b.a.s.t.a.r.d looked like thanks to him standing next to the lamp that illuminated the sidewalk. The only things she could point out were some sort of gla.s.ses and short and pointy beard, and some kind of clothing that was a tight fit. Other than that, it was really hard to see.

Takuchu cleared his throat as a coping mechanism to avoid straight-up embarra.s.sment in front of everyone. He then said

"Let's forget what just happened, okay?

Anyways, I'm going to need for you, the blue girl, to follow along with me."

Sora did what any decent human being would do and refused him by saying

"No, definitely not."

and made an attempt to walk.

Takuchu sighed and said

"Look, I really don't want to do this. But Boss issued the mission, so I have to fulfill it. The reason I need you to tag along is that we're trying to bait out that Kenichi guy or whatever he is called. We won't hurt you, and I can promise you that.

So please, tag along diplomatically."

Sora prepared herself for running away, Aya had also realized that the situation wasn't quite in their favor.

But Takuchu quickly realized what was going on and exhaled regretfully.

He quickly grabbed a purple ball that was roughly the size of half a thumb, he threw it incredibly fast towards Aya who didn't have enough time to block it. When it made an impact on Aya's stomach, the ball opened up and revealed some weird smoke. Aya looked at it in fright and when the smoke reached her skin, she suddenly lost her vision.

She said

"I can't see anything! It's all black!

Sora, where are you!?"

But the response she received wasn't what the most desirable

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

The scream was quite loud, but it suddenly disappeared for some reason. Aya couldn't figure out the reason, but was quite scared.

"SORAAA" Aya screamed but did not receive an answer

After roughly half a minute, Aya regained her vision all of a sudden. When she looked around her, it was completely empty and silent. Not a single noise was heard, but a couple of seconds after she made that observation, she heard a very distant

"aaaaaaaaaaaaa"

to the northwest of her current position.

She turned towards the sound and started running towards it. She made an effort to run as fast as she could. Whilst running, she thought to herself

-What's going on!?

First, there was the whole debacle with Kenjiro and now some weird people are stealing my friends to pick a fight with Kenjiro!?

What's going on!?

Kenjiro better come and help rescue Sora. Otherwise, I don't know what I'll do. I'm already a bit mad at him from before…

What's going on!?-
