With two spiritual beasts following them now, Yun Bei Fen and Mei Chao Bing finally continued on their way. Mei Chao Bing made them walk slowly to the other end of the valley, letting Yun Bei Fen look further for spiritual herbs and other things they could take with them. Because of this, it turned out that they had actually made a good decision in taking in these two spiritual beasts.

While Xiao Hui didn't have much value in terms of fighting strength, it was great at finding spiritual herbs. As soon as Yun Bei Fen put it down on the ground, it would hobble in the direction of the closest herb. The only important thing was to make sure they were able to pick the herb before the spiritual beast started gnawing at it.

Yun Bei Fen didn't worry about it too much. If it was his decision, then he might have actually allowed Xiao Hui to eat all of them. Mei Chao Bing intervened though. It was still alright to let Xiao Hui eat them if the stalks were of lower quality but the others should be picked and kept safe by them. First of all, the little spiritual beast wouldn't be able to digest a herb that had too much spiritual energy because it was just not strong enough yet and secondly, it would be a waste to let these herbs be eaten. No, it was better to keep them for now. If Xiao Hui turned out to be able to level up soon, then they could still give it the herbs, otherwise, it would be better to use them for something else first and find others for it to eat later.

Da Hei also turned out to be even more useful than he had thought. Even though several spiritual beasts approached when they smelled the scent of humans, all of them turned tail and ran when they noticed the midnight wolf at their side. Mn, it seemed Yun Bei Fen wouldn't have to worry too much with these two around. If they were separated in the border region, he could just send Da Hei with him to make sure that at least the beasts wouldn't dare to do anything.

When he thought of that, Mei Chao Bing couldn't help but take a closer look at the midnight wolf. He had used a few of the spiritual herbs that they had gathered to heal its wounds so its black fur was looking as glossy as before. Nothing could be seen of the previous b.l.o.o.d.y appearance. As for its level … If he could use some resources to have it gather more spiritual energy and then let it gain some more experience, it should be able to advance to the spiritual beasts' equivalent of the nascent soul stage.

When he really managed to let Da Hei advance, there really wouldn't be any need to worry for Yun Bei Fen's safety. Even if the demonic sects' side made a display of power in the border region, they also didn't have too many people in the nascent soul stage. All of them would be Elders and most would refuse to go to such a mission and quibble with some juniors.

But other than them, there wouldn't be anyone that could be dangerous to Yun Bei Fen anymore. Now that he had learned to use his spiritual energy, it was only a question of time until he would be able to defend himself against people at his level or a lower one and for everything else, Da Hei would be enough to handle it. It would only be problematic if many cultivators ganged up on them but the likelihood of that should be low. And in the worst case, Yun Bei Fen would soon be able to escape them on his flying sword. All in all, there was no need for him to worry as much anymore. They could really go to the border region now and join in on the mission.

After a few more hours, the group of two people and two beasts finally reached the end of the valley. Yun Bei Fen looked up at his senior martial brother who was taking out his sword and couldn't help but look at Xiao Hui and Da Hei.

"Mei Chao Bing, what should we do with these two now? Do I need to learn how to fly first?"

Mei Chao Bing raised his brows and looked at the two spiritual beasts. Right, there was a bit of a problem here. He was able to transport Da Hei but he wouldn't be able to take Xiao Hui too. And Elder Baili certainly hadn't thought that Yun Bei Fen would need something to transport a spiritual beast. After all, his disciple had never been out before. Who would think of him finding a spiritual beast? It seemed it really was a lucky coincidence that Yun Bei Fen had chosen this type of small spiritual beast that could be held in his arms.

"Don't worry about it." Mei Chao Bing took out a little black box from his spatial ring. He looked at it with a complicated expression. This was actually something his Master had given him not long before he betrayed the sect. Back then, he had still been a valued disciple and his Master had still been the honorable and upright Elder Feng. Looking at this now … it truly felt strange.

Mei Chao Bing took a deep breath and pushed the thought aside. It had been a long time ago. Now, all that wasn't important anymore. Now, only his little bunny was important.

He showed the box to Yun Bei Fen with a smile. "This is a transportation box for spiritual beasts. You can put your own spiritual beast in it or even one that you found outside but haven't signed a contract with yet. Unfortunately, this one can only hold one so we'll have to use it for Da Hei. As for Xiao Hui … You can just carry it."

Yun Bei Fen nodded and curiously looked at the box. It was just a small chest made out of dark wood though. The only special thing about it was an engraving on the lid. Maybe this was what allowed you to take the spiritual beast with you?

He still couldn't imagine how Da Hei should fit into this box though. Thus he could only curiously look on as Mei Chao Bing turned to the spiritual beast and motioned at the box. Da Hei glanced at the box with an unenthusiastic expression but finally, its body turned into an arrow of spiritual energy and rushed at the box, disappearing inside.

Yun Bei Fen looked from the place where the midnight wolf had just stood to the box and then back. Had this big beast really just gone into the small chest?

Mei Chao Bing couldn't help but laugh when he saw his expression. "It works just like a spatial ring, just that it can also transport living things. You could say that there's another dimension in there so the box isn't as small as it looks. Don't worry about it, Da Hei will be alright in there." He bent down and picked up Xiao Hui, pus.h.i.+ng it into Yun Bei Fen's arms. "Hold onto it tightly, we'll be flying for a while. Let's go to the border region now. I'm sure your Master will be worried about you already." With that, he pulled his little bunny onto the flying sword.

Meanwhile, Yun Bei Fen's eyes widened. His Master… He had completely forgotten about him!
