"You- You rejected him?!" Agalana screeches once I sat down on the bed and stripped off my stained clothing. Thankful to be in my own room even if I was still in the demon world.
"Of course I did. He abandoned me to attempt another woman." I tell her as if she were the dumbest person alive. My body had ached from the journey back to the castle and Dylan's burning gaze had scorched me alive, but I refused to say another word to him.
He didn't deserve me.
"But he told you he didn't. Don't you believe him?" She questions when I threw off my dirty pajama s.h.i.+rt and tossed it towards her. Going over to the dresser and s.n.a.t.c.hing an oversized s.h.i.+rt. Hopefully, the person who stayed in this room didn't mind me borrowing their s.h.i.+rt.
Though Proximo wouldn't have brought me to this room if they had mind.
"Why are you protecting him? He's been an a.s.shole and now we don't have to deal with him." I said coldly, throwing a s.h.i.+rt on and realizing it was his. The scent engulfing me and making my heart throb in my throat.
Great...
I didn't want my burning desires to rise but with his scent wrapped around me, I couldn't help myself. I still wanted him so badly, but his betrayal had hurt me.
"Kho... He's your other half. He went to save you and he had reasons, Kho." Agalana says when watching me closely and throwing my s.h.i.+rt in the corner of the room where a basket was. I narrowed my eyes at her, still, a bright blue from the desire the alcohol brought.
"He may be my other half, but he broke my heart the moment he left me crying at the manor. I apologize but I have not been shown much kindness in my life and will not forgive anyone who has used me just to settle his demon's needs." I snap at her, regretting it immediately when she sighed and shook her head.
"I can't change your mind, but you weren't that pure tonight either." She reminds making me spin on my heel and thrust a finger in her chest.
"I had no control over my body!" I scream at her as she raised her hands and walked around me.
"Who says he knows that? Just because you were under the influence doesn't mean you opposed the idea of being with another just as he did." She points out, only angering me. "Also. Who says you didn't use him just as he did? Ask yourself if you truly know, Dylan. Or should I say Prince Dareios." Her words sliced through me before leaving the room and closing the door behind her. My sword burned beside me as I shrieked and threw my sword at the door in fury.
The lightning cras.h.i.+ng outside of the room.
〰 Dylan 〰
These last few days have felt like years.
I never knew what pain was before she came into my life and yet, I could do nothing but watch her spar with her Valkyrie friends. They'd all come once they heard I had saved her from Aita and the kingdom.
Everyone knew who she was and refused to harm her as they did before, but now that she knew the truth about everything. She wanted as far away as she could go.
Thankfully with the Valkyries help, she remained here after some peer pressure that Hrudra and Proximo were mates. The revelation shocking but not surprising since they both were br.i.m.m.i.n.g with s.e.xual tension and caused my castle to rattle underneath their wrath.
It explained his att.i.tude and roar the day we came here.
Though it didn't help my situation, I was happy for Proximo since he'd have a hard life before meeting his cold beast. Not that she grow any other emotion with him around but it was worth a try.
"My prince. The queen has informed me to tell you of her arrival for tonight." A servant tells me as I turned away from the large window and nodded in understanding. My mother would demand to meet my mate but I felt that their personalities would clash with one another.
This wasn't going to end well.
But maybe it would.
I couldn't predict my little Valkyrie anymore.
Not after she tormented me so badly.
Her scream pierced my thoughts, her back slamming on the ground in front of Hjala who had sent her away with her boot. The servant joined me by my side, watching Khole snarl and jump off the ground as if nothing happened.
Her blade flew through the air, slamming the b.u.t.t of the sword into Hjala's face before das.h.i.+ng for her and kicking her swiftly. Hjala flew through the air, hitting one of the twins and causing them to begin attacking Khole since she disturbed their fight.
My woman shrieked, defending herself while lightning spewed from the skies and hit the ground around her. The three Valkyries going for her at full speed when she summoned her s.h.i.+eld and prevented their attacks.
She was... truly beautiful to watch fight.
"Start a feast. Large enough for more than a hundred people and begin setting up outside once they stop fighting." I order the servant after watching my Khole take a blow that sent her sprawling to the ground once again.
Shrugging on my coat, I began to leave the office so I could join my gorgeous mate in her fight.
〰 Khole 〰
"Would you like some help?" I ask a demoness that was dragging out a table to the yard, getting ready for some important person to come. The young girl jumped once I said something as she shook her head wildly.
"N-No, my princess! I am okay." She a.s.sures when I sighed and stood up from my spot against the tree. I took the table from her and motioned for her to lead me to where she wanted it making her blush. "Thank you."
I frowned at this, stretching my sore muscles. "You don't have to thank me. And my name is Khole so no more princess c.r.a.p. If you ever need help, just come to me. Alright?" I tell her with a stern look making her s.h.i.+ver.
"Of course, Miss Khole." She smiled, stopping and pointing at the ground when I stretched out the legs of the table and planted it on the ground. "Thank you for your help again." She scurried off before I could yell at her again, my eye twitching with renewed annoyance.

That was quite annoying.
I slipped my sword over my shoulder, kneading my built-up tension and walking for the castle. A shower sounded perfect right now even if Dylan and I shared a room, he respected my boundaries and knew when to stay away.
Every night though, I'd have nightmares and he always came into the room to cradle me back to sleep. He slept with me every night and each morning his warmth would be gone.
It hurt, but this was what I wanted.
"Hey. Where are you going?" Agalana questions me when I walked past her and into the door. She seemed like in a brighter mood only demolis.h.i.+ng mine.
"Taking a shower then heading to bed." I simply say, running a sweaty palm over my forehead.
"It's six in the afternoon. Plus there is a cookout tonight." She spoke quickly, following behind me and up the grand staircase. Her persistence causing me to scowl in fury as she backed away but continued following me.
"Why would I care whether there was a cookout or not? Valkyries don't need to eat." I point out, her ignorance recently p.i.s.sing me off but I didn't question her need to watch over my every moment.
I was the clone of her best friend.
"Just because we don't eat regularly like normal people in the lore doesn't mean we don't need it. Valkyries can just go longer without eating a meal. Though I haven't seen you eat in a few days." She points out though I knew the reason.+
I still didn't trust the foods around me and ever since Dylan had betrayed me, I haven't tasted a single food prepared. Which meant that my strength was deteriorating since I haven't had a meal in what felt like weeks.
Not that it mattered, a Valkyrie can survive long times without eating anything and I am going to prove such a thing.
"I ate the other day. Now leave me, I am exhausted and would like some rest." I wave away, shutting my door in her face and tossing my blade on the ground. Stripping out of my chest plate and feathered skirt, I walked to the restroom and got into the shower.
The warm waters pouring over my bruised and sore muscles while I groaned in pure bliss. Being in the water like this reminds me of how lucky it was to be here and not in the manor.
The manor only had cold water.
Not that it mattered, I only got warm baths that Dylan somehow made for me. All of the Valkyries were jealous of the warmth I received and wondered about how he had created the warm baths for me.
Times like those reminded me of how much I missed everything from before.
But nothing would be the same.
After twenty minutes, I wrapped a fluffy towel around me and left the restroom and felt a soft breeze from the window. I walked over to the window, the grip I had on the towel around me tightening.
The blazing fires from below lit up the city of demons, cheers and laughter sounding even this far above making me sigh and lean against the windowpane. The cookout was buzzing with people around the tables and children running around with each other.
Even in the underworld, people were happy and I wasn't.
I don't seem to be happy anywhere.
A sigh left me as I closed my window and turned away seeing Dylan at the doorway.
