"Drink this." Aita orders, holding the gla.s.s of alcohol when I felt compelled to grab it and take a sip. "You know, this wouldn't be so hard if you just accepted my help." She says knowing I wouldn't say a word to her since she compelled me not to say anything rude.
Proximo had warned me earlier that he'd find ways to torture me, but this hadn't come to mind. I wasn't sure whether or not this was worse than what he'd done to me or not.
I sipped on the drink, praying that for once that Dylan would come for me but no one came through the door. Even after everything he'd done to me, my mind and body begged for his presence to come.
But...
I was on my own.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I question her, my tone rude making her frown. The small victory making me hope that I could break from all her compulsion.
"I'm only trying to help you, Khole." She tells me when I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Yeah. I feel so helped." I said in a snarky voice as she sighed and leaned against the bar.
"Don't be mean. If it wasn't for me, you'd still be in that dungeon." She reminds me, sipping on her fruity drink while I rolled my eyes and tightened my grasp of alcohol.
Come on...
Break free from this, Khole.
"I'd rather have Proximo torture me relentlessly, still. It would have brought me more pleasure than being in your presence." I snarl, breaking from her control to chuck the gla.s.s of alcohol across the room. People stopped dancing, turning to give me weird looks when Aita snapped her fingers, gaining control once again.
Small victories are truly the best.
"Don't be difficult." She sighs, ordering me yet another drink as she reached into her pocket and opened her small flask. "This will make you more friendly," Aita says, her mood lightening up while she poured some of the mysterious liquid into the drink.
"I won't drink that." I deny, using my willpower to break away from her but failing miserably.
"I'm sure, dear. Here. Bottom's up!" She yells, tapping her drink with mine before slurping the rest of it. Her control over me overwhelmed me to gulp the burning alcohol quickly. The affects slamming into me so quickly it made me slump over a little bit.
"W-What was th-that." I stutter, my voice sounding slurred while my vision blurred slightly due to the lights all around us. My body felt heavy all around me as if I was slowly being pushed down to the ground and there was nothing I could do about it.
"It's gonna make you more kind." She smiled at me, her face blending in with the blaring lights when I closed my eyes and tried to get back to reality.
My skin burned alive making me wince and clench my fists, trying to ignore the pain. I felt the desires I'd tried to ignore come back to life, encouraging me to do wicked things with random people but I tempt them down as best as I could.
"I thought-t you were trying to help-p..." I groaned, pressing my hand on my forehead. Her compulsion dripped away from me, knowing I wasn't able to even see the ground at this point.
"I am." She simply says. "Kander! Come here and please this woman! She needs the blood moon to be fulfilled!" Aita yells, her words stabbing me straight into my chest before I noticed a figure rus.h.i.+ng out of the bar.
Maybe...
Maybe I should try that.
I began to get up but collapsed into someone making me mumble an apology. Their skin touched mine, burning and causing it to itch like there was no tomorrow. It felt as if they were a flame slowly torching my skin away.
"How in G.o.d's name did you obtain a little Valkyrie? My, aren't you gorgeous." A man purred behind me, his lips were so close that I felt his breath flanneled against my face. His hands held onto me, making sure I didn't fall to the ground but his touch was nothing compared to Dylan's.
My scorching needs arose from within in me, reacting to his touch and hold. The need burning within me but I resisted it.
I had to.
"Let me go." I grit out, hating his touch when leaning away from him though he only tugged me closer to him. Aita simply watched with a devilish grin, only making me realize how dangerous she truly was.
This was her true colors. She never wanted to help me, she wanted to humiliate and torture me.
"You're vulnerable, Valkyrie. Let a demon show you a good time. I hear that Valkyries love how animalistic we can be. They love to lick our horns and if you liked, I'll let you if you want." He pressed his lips against my neck causing a groan to ripple through my throat, unable to keep it from escaping. The need within me only growing, but I had to break out of this.
His words had stirred a fire within me causing me to think about Dylan and his suddenly luscious horns. Then I thought about him being with another woman which snapped me back into reality.
"You aren't a demon... You're more like a rapist." I growl causing the man to twist me around with his grip holding onto my throat. His dark eyes glared into mine when leaning in and pressing me against the bar beside Aita.
She merely watched us, sipping on her fruity drink with a grin. She was amused with the show and the other demons seemed to cackle at the sight of us.
I hate demons so much...
Before I realized what happened, he forced himself onto me making me whimper and try shoving him away. His lips feeling slimy and disgusting against mine, unlike Dylan's gentle ones.
As I tried pus.h.i.+ng him away, he s.n.a.t.c.hed my hands and forced them on either side of me. I bite down onto his lips as hard as I could, drawing blood. The iron in my mouth giving me some kind of relief when he flinched away and touched his lip.
"WHAT THE f.u.c.k?!" He roared, slapping me before letting me fall to the ground. I cradled my face as he stood over me like a monster. "I am going to-"
A low tune started playing, piercing through the music just as large footsteps sounded from the entrance. I could feel undeniable anger coursing through the room, the anger so powerful that the soft melody of the tune didn't reach my ears.
Still holding onto my face, I glanced up seeing a dark shadow coming towards me. It was a demon, their horns stretched out and the skin rippling in darkness.
For a moment, I thought I was imagining the demon as I strained my eyes against the blazing lights. My head and body still burning and aching with need but I refused to get involved with anyone.
Finding the strength to get up, I darted away from the demon and Aita. I ran through the door I'd come through earlier and backtracked to where I found the window over a river.
If I could get there, then I could escape.
I could do this.
My hand strayed away from my face and to the wall beside me as I continued walking quickly. A scream pierced the soft melody I was ignoring making my body tremble at memories of my slavery coming to surface.
Thankfully, the memories were a turn-off which helped me ignore the burning need.
"Come on, Khole. We've gotta escape." I whisper to myself, pus.h.i.+ng away from the wall and beginning to run once again even with my vision making everything look like a wave.
I don't need my vision, I memorized where and what turns I did.
There was a roar behind me causing me to run faster and take a sharp turn around the corner. For some reason, I felt that whoever was coming after me, they could scent me easily.
I finally came to the window, reaching my fist back before breaking the gla.s.s. My hand was cut up as I stepped onto the ledge and held onto the windowpane that sliced into my palms.
It was really high...
"DON'T!" A deadly voice roared only making me tremble and realize that I'd rather take my chances out in the river than remain here.
I jumped from the ledge, covering my face while waiting for the water to slam into me.

I marched over to them, my demonic s.h.i.+ft rising within me while Alican played her sleeping melody like earlier. Aita was unaffected though just as was my Khole. Her body was trembling, staring at me as the monster I was.
The man who'd harmed her before was on the ground in front of Khole, but she didn't seem to care before she jumped off the ground and ran through a doorway. The need to give chase burned within me, but I wanted to slaughter the man and Aita first.
"Aita. I am going to kill you now." I tell her as calmly as I could when she held onto the bar, her nails digging into the wood.
"Prince Dareios... I didn't-"
"Shut up!" I snarl, stomping on the man's head so he couldn't hurt any other woman as he did to my Khole. The Valkyries were still fighting off the guards who were immune to Alican's melody. Proximo was with them, watching over Alican carefully since she was afraid of this place still.
That left me to deal with my enemies and to help my mate.
"I am the only one who can save her," Aita yells as I took another step towards her. "I gave her demon brew!" Aita admits, my blood boiling with even more anger and hatred.
"I will save my mate. Your life ends here and now." I slipped Khole's blade out of my belt, the flash of silver making Aita realize that it was hers and not mine. Aita will die on my mate's blade for her pleasure.
"We grew up together! I am your betrothed!" She shouts, inching more away as I pointed the blade at her.
"You threatened and harmed your queen. You will face the ultimate punishment." I order dangerously before swiping the blade down at her. Her ear-piercing scream ringing through the bar as her head rolled away from her body.
Blood had sprayed onto my face but I didn't care.
I had to find Khole and now.
I heard Proximo roar in anger but I didn't have time to see what it was about, I needed to get to her before she did something stupid.

Barreling through the door she went through, I followed her scent and was pleased to see that she'd harmed the a.s.shole that pushed onto her. Though I hated that Aita was immortal and now realizing she'd come back to life in a few hours.
That's alright with me though, I'll sentence her to die over and over again until I felt satisfied.
My feet stopped once I heard something shatter to my left making me run and see Khole slowly climbing up the window. Her small, tight red dress not providing any warmth from the elements.
"DON'T!" I yelled, her body trembling before launching herself out the window and downwards. My heart dropping as I lunged to the window and watched her splashed into a river.
