"What are you going to do, brother? The blood moon is tomorrow and it seems no progress has been made." Pairs said in snickering tone when I snapped my teeth at her, watching my mate swing her blade down at Agalana.

"I've made progress, dear sister." I sneer making her laugh in a light tone, her eyes trained on her own mate. Hjala threw daggers at Hrudra, trying to get her with one of them but Hrudra was skilled enough to deflect all of them easily.

"Oh yes. I have as well. My darling, Hjala, knows of the moon rising tomorrow and has even gone to the length to court me. Isn't she the loveliest?" Pairs purr catching Hjala's attention before getting knocked on the ground by a large branch. My sister merely chuckled, not worried over her strong Valkyrie woman.

These Valkyries were... too much at times.

"You told her what is happening to you tomorrow...?" I ask bewildered when she spared me a glance and gave a short nod.

"Yes. I told her that I would have to be with another because the blood moon would have scared her s.h.i.+tless. However, my woman has b.a.l.l.s of steel and was aroused at the thought. Who would have thought Valkyries were amazing?" Pairs said in a delighted tone, her eyes trained on Hjala and her swift moves.

I was surprised that any woman or man would accept a demon s.h.i.+ft and at their most vulnerable time. I knew that Valkyries were bada.s.s, but I never truly expected this.

"Yes. They truly are." I agree, glancing back as Khole jumped out of the way of Agalana's attack and dove under her arm. Khole lashed out, hitting Agalana's leg and forcing her to the ground.

A victorious grin rising on her beautiful face when looking up at me with s.h.i.+ning eyes.

"What will you do? Have you not told Khole-Boo about the blood moon?" Pairs ask me, using the pet name she's been calling my mate. She stared at me, her eyes widening when I didn't say a word. "Oh my G.o.d. You haven't told, Khole. Oh. You a.s.shole. Did you plan on going to be with another woman just to settle this need? Y-"

"I don't have a choice. You of all people know this." I hiss at her, knowing that this will only drive a drift between Khole and I but I didn't want to force her into something she didn't want.

Cade may have been nice to her, but when tomorrow comes...

"Oh yeah. Totally. Just like how I didn't have a choice? I told Hjala about everything and we've known each other for two? Maybe three days?" She waved her hands around in a frantic way while I only narrowed my eyes at her. "You are truly pathetic. I call you brother through all your decisions whether good or bad. But this one...?" Pairs shook her head, looking disgusted. "I will not. Not this time."

"Wait." I s.n.a.t.c.hed her arm before she could walk away, sighing deeply and trying not to get riled up. "You must watch her tomorrow. Please." I plead to her as Hjala abandoned Hrudra and walked over to us.

"What's happening? Are you alright, my mate?" Hjala asks softly, running her palm over her waist and eyeing me.

"Do not ask me of this. I will no-"

"You have to," I beg, grasping both her hands tightly. "Please. Both of you." My eyes flicked to Hjala's then back to Pairs's black eyes that stared at me in pure anger.

Pairs scoffed, s.n.a.t.c.hing her hands from mine and stomping away. Hjala looked at her p.i.s.sed mate then at me in an irritated way before chasing after her. I knew that Pairs would help me because, in any other situation, I would help her.

"Are you and Pairs, alright?" She looked worried and the sight had my chest burning with the need to tell her the truth. It was already hard enough for me to remain in control around her, but with her staring at me so intently like this...

"Yes. I am leaving on a trip tomorrow and asked her to watch over you. Not need to worry, little one. You will be well." I promise her, my hand twitching to touch her but Khole didn't like PDA very much. Which to be honest bugged me because I wanted everyone to know she belonged to me.

"Leaving? W-Why?" Her nervous stutter clicked back in and I forgot all sense and hugged her tightly against me. Wis.h.i.+ng she trusted me enough to let me settle her s.e.xual needs.

It hurt me to know she pleased herself when her doors were closed at night. I just hoped I would have romanced her enough by now, but it's clear that I have not made much progress.

It was only then that I realized I never answered her question making me say, "I have important business and I can't handle this at home. I've got to return and do it in person." I spoke vaguely, not lying but not telling the truth. She nodded, leaning into me before letting me go and smiling at me.

"Okay. Will you be back by tomorrow night then?" She asks me with a small smile that warmed my heart but at the same time, broke it.

Oh how much I wanted to tell her my worries and thoughts.

"I don't think so, but I will let you know," I tell her, leaning down and pressing a small kiss on her forehead. "Continue your training, little one. I've got to make a few more things before leaving tonight." She flinched at my words staring at me with confusion and hurt.

"Leaving tonight...? Why are you so eager t-to leave?" She questions in a heartbreaking tone making me smile sadly.

"I didn't mean tonight. I meant early in the morning. The flight will be long and I want to be as quick as I can so I can return here." I tell her, my words making a smile come back on her soft features.

"Oh. You scared me for a moment, Dylan." She hugged me once again before saying, "I thought you didn't want me anymore."

I watched him walk away with a laugh at my thoughts, a.s.suring me lots of times that he wanted me more than anything in the world. He deflected my questions with soft, sweet sayings

Surprisingly, all were me which made me warm and fuzzy inside.

He was so perfect.

"You sure you like him, Kho?" Agalana asks me, tossing her guns into the air. There was wariness in her eyes that made me unsettled but I trusted my Dylan. He would never hurt me in any way.

He just couldn't.

"Of course. He says we are mates and I do feel very, very connected." I blushed furiously when realizing my words, shaking my head frantically. "That's not what I meant! We've never-"

"Oh, we know. You are far too innocent." Hrudra bluntly says, annoyed that her sparing buddy ditched her while I stuck my tongue out at her.

"How do you know?" I challenge, lifting one of my brows. "I know what kissing and hand-holding is!" I exclaim, both women shared a look before cracking up in laughter. Agalana was on the ground dying from dry laugher while Hrudra covered her palm over her mouth, clearly laughing at me as well.

"Jesus Christ, Kho! I knew you were innocent but you do know what s.e.x is right?" Agalana questions, my face running beat red.

"Of course! Oh my G.o.d!" I screeched covering my face in embarra.s.sment.

"Stop! Please shut up!" I scream covering my ears from Hrudra's explanation only making them grow delirious from laughter once again. This was so embarra.s.sing!

They both picked and nagged at me for another few more minutes before they couldn't laugh anymore. I wasn't even upset at them messing with me, happier that they didn't call me dumb for not knowing many things like other girls had before.

"No but seriously. You do know what like oral and stuff like that is right?" Agalana asks me but that word didn't have any meaning to me making each women sharing an evil look.

"Don't finish that!" I screech yet again, each woman chuckling at my shyness.

"Once we're done with you. You won't be shy and will be informed on how to keep that demon of yours in your claws. Come." Hrudra waves, slipping her blade away when Agalana grabbed my arm and pulled me along.

"We should introduce her to p.o.r.n. You know what this is, right?" Agalana asks while I blushed and looked away. "Lord have mercy on you, child." She says in a joking tone making me laugh and pat her arm.

"You can show me what you wish but it better not be inappropriate," I warn them, a snicker leaving Hrudra when Agalana patted my arm.

"I promise." She winked at me with a deceitful smile making me gulp and hope for the best.
