Shou forced himself to maintain a cool composure on the surface as he asked Gong, “I thought we agreed it would just be s.e.x and not have feelings involved?”

“Right now I want both.”

“Why?”

Gong's smile was gentle. “I said when I saw you for the first time, I wanted to f.u.c.k you. Actually, there is more. When I f.u.c.ked you for the first time, I wanted to be with you.”

Shou sucked in a deep breath, feeling his legs grow weak. His entire heart was beating erratically.

He admitted that his heart was already moved for a long time.

Shou twisted the hem of his jacket tighter, not daring to speak up or nod his head.

He did not know how much of Gong's words were sincere. For a long time player like Gong, he could say one thing and mean another. Shou could not tell if it was the truth, nor could he resist it.

If he gave his all again, and in the end if they broke up and just called it quits, he was worried he would not be able to bear it.

He was worried of being with someone like that cannon fodder again.

Shou sniffled his nose, with his head lowered he said to Gong, “I need some time to think about it.”

Gong rubbed Shou's head and replied, “It is okay. I can wait.”

Shou suggested that before they confirmed their relations.h.i.+p, it would be better to be apart for a period of time. Otherwise, he would not be able to calm down and think properly. Gong agreed with this idea. Hence, at night he sent Shou back to his own home.

Gong parked the car by the road and as Shou was unbuckling his seatbelt,  Gong said, “Let me send you to your door.”

Shou replied, “There is no need. I live on the 6th floor and there is no lift. It is too troublesome for you.”

Even though he said that, as a matter of fact, he was afraid that once they went up, he could not bear for Gong to leave.

Gong seemed to have seen through his real feelings so he did not insist as he said, “Then, you rest early.”

Shou took his time to step out of the car. After walking two steps, he turned back and spoke to Gong with the car door between them, “If you miss me and can't fall asleep, then read that python starter guide. I left it by your bed.”

Gong chuckled and said okay.

Shou could not think of anything else to say so he had no choice but to turn and enter the darkened pa.s.sageway.

He walked up each step of the stairs slowly, feeling complicated. For the past few days he had been staying with Gong day in day out. Being alone now, he was really not used to it.

Shou scolded himself for getting affected. Even when he broke up with the cannon fodder, he did not feel this way. As he took out his key from his bag, he thought, why not just give an answer to Gong in two days time.

At that moment, in the dark came a drunken voice. “Xiao Xu, you are finally back?”

Shou was so startled that he jumped on the spot. When he regained his senses, he realised it was the cannon fodder's voice.

The cannon fodder, who was squatting by the wall, stood up abruptly and grabbed Shou's wrist in one movement impatiently,” Xiao Xu, where did you go for so many days? I have been waiting for you here. It was my fault previously. Can we start over?”

“No.” Shou immediately rejected him.

He tried to pry the cannon fodder's fingers away one by one but the grip on his wrist was tightened.

“Why not?” The stench of alcohol was very strong on the cannon fodder, making Shou's eyebrows to be knitted. “I do not have any feelings towards those hook-ups. My heart only has you, Xiao Xu. If you are willing to be with me, I will never find someone else again.”

“But I have already found another man.” Shou replied.

The cannon fodder was astonished. His expression became fierce as he asked, “Who is it?”

“It is me.” There was a man coming up the stairwell at the back, a hint of anger in his voice.

Shou was immediately happy. At first he was worried that he would not be able to win if he had to go one-on-one with the cannon fodder. Now that there was a stronger backing, he felt more confident.

Cannon fodder pointed at Gong who was walking towards them and angrily asked Shou, “This person? What is so good about him?!”

Shou puffed up his chest and said, “His d.i.c.k is bigger than yours!”
