Canceled Version 10 Chapter 10

Eight days pa.s.sed, as Lovell recovered Scarlet ask Lovell of his journey's, of the people, met and more about him. Lovell told her about his times with the Goanna Mercenaries, about how he started his travels to find and protect Luna and about how the Faremin forces captured him. Scarlet intrigued buy his stories paused as he spoke about the Faremin forces.

She sat up, looking at Lovell. "So, they are not all evil like others say?" Lovell nodded as he to a sip of the tea. Scarlet looked over the gardens, puzzled by what Lovell had said. "and this Kyle character helped you escape?"

Lovell smiled at her, "Yes, it was hard for me to believe at first too." He looked over to a patch of sehenas. "It's funny. Usually, when I see sehena's, I end up crying, but this time I'm not." Lovell laughed softly, "It feels strange but somehow intriguing as well."

A servant walked over, bowing, "Sir, ma'am you should soon get ready for your trip in four days. We wouldn't want you to be unprepared for the trek a head."

Scarlet agreeing with her dismissed the servant, Scarlet smiled. "I very surprised my father is letting me see the world beyond my four-city bird cage."

Lovell sigh as he lay across the table, "Yeah, and I'm the one suffering from the baggage." Scarlet smiled sheepishly at him, Lovell sat up, "Well, I'm now strong enough to move once again. So, lets head into town before morning tea." Scarlet agreed as they got up and headed out to town.

Once in town, Lovell looked at the local market for food that they could bring. Scarlet came rus.h.i.+ng over to him, yanking him away. Lovell reluctantly fallowed her to a barbers. She pushed him telling the barber that he needed a makeover. Lovell grabbed his hair, seeing nothing wrong with his sense of style. The barber smiled as Lovell, sat down, knowing he had no say in the matter. The barber cut his hair in two parts one being a short s.h.a.ggy top and left a small segment in the back that scarlet suggested would give him more elegance. Lovell looked at himself seeing that it suited, Scarlet smiled at her hand work. They returned to the market afterword's, as they walked two teens ran by b.u.mping Lovell. Lovell thought nothing about it till he checked for his coin pouch. Lovell went pale, as he searched his body.

Scarlet stopped to see what he was doing. "What's wrong Lovell?"

Lovell looked back, "My coin pouch is missing?" stopping for a moment Lovell figured out what happened. "You have to be kidding me!?" Lovell rushed off, leaving Scarlet behind in the dark.

Lovell s.h.i.+fted through the crowd to find the two. Lovell looked up to see them running along the roof line. Sighing as he jumped up in a single bound to the rooves. The two turned back to see if they were being fallowed, only to see Lovell landed staring at them angerly. The two started to run off splitting up as to lose him. Lovell growled at their choice, ran off after the to the girl. She was slower than her accomplice, Lovell used flash step to get a head over, she slipped through with ease. Smiling that she had him beat only to have Scarlet binder in vines. Lovell thanked Scarlet asking her to keep an eye on her till he found the other. Lovell search the roof tops for the other one when he noticed that he was in trouble. Lovell sighed rushed over to him.

"Where's you sister, Zero?" one of the men asked him. Zero looking for an exit as the sweat trickled down his back.

"Yes, you and your twin sister, Zephyr, have been busy today stealing. SO, hand over you share or we will tell the boss you were stealing from him?!" The three men moved closer to Zero, Zero closed his eyes in fear, his tail tucked between his legs. One of the men fell to the ground at his feet. Zero stared at the downed man. The other two looked to see what happened. Seeing Lovell stand there, angry, "Who the h.e.l.l, are you mutt?"

Lovell clenched his fist. "One," Lovell punch the on who called him a mutt. "Never call me that, and two he's with me." Lovell moved in between the last man and Zero.

The man quivered, as he tried to act tough, "Th-the boss will have your-your head." He laughed nervously.

Lovell moved face to face to him. "Tell him this, if he wants to deal with the black wolf of the Goanna mercenaries, that he will never see the light of the day ever again!" Lovell let out a low growl, as his eye glowed their red hue. The man soiled himself as he ran away. Screaming b.l.o.o.d.y murder. Zero sigh, resting his hand on his chest, he went thank Lovell but stopped to see he was angry at him. "Now as for you," Lovell grabbed his ear, dragging him along. "You are coming with me to have a chat with your partner in all this."

Scarlet had Zero's sister sitting in shame as they approached. "Found him I see?" Lovell nodded, Scarlet sighed. "She told me her story now it's his turn to talk."

Lovell looked at him, as Zero sat down beside Zephyr. "Now tell me why you are stealing?" They looked terrified they were going to be thrown into jail shut themselves down. Lovell reach over, touching their heads. "Don't worry, yes I'm mad at what you did but I need to know the reason why you two are doing this so I can help you get out of it?" They looked up at him tears welling up. "Look, I'm also part of a group that could get me arrested by turning you two in, but let's start with your names? I'm Lovell this is Scarlet." Scarlet smiled gently. "Now what are yours?"

Zephyr spoke softly, "I'm Zephyr Foxtail."

Zero looked at Lovell curiously, "Mines Zero Foxtail, we are twins, but I have a question for you Lovell?"

Lovell crossed his arms. "Ask away?"

Zero swallowed hard, "Why help us?"

Lovell tried to hold his laughter in but couldn't to Zero's question. "Well, because it was the right thing to do, simple as that."

Zephyr smiled in relief as her brother continued to stare. "Well, ok I except your answer." Lovell leaned back, waiting for their story. "To answer your question, it's because we were dragged into the local gang called the Ratway, shortly after out mother pa.s.sed away six years ago." Lovell's face stiffened as he heard about their mother. "Our father died in the war against the Faremin soldiers. He was an amazing man, the most powerful animilian mage of fire and water that this kingdom has ever seen." Lovell could see that Zero idolized his father. He too idolized someone that was long gone from his life, just seeing the joy filling their faces as Zero spoke put Lovell at ease. "We were about five or six when he pasted, but..."

Lovell was seeing Zero trail off, "I lost my foster mother when I was six to the Faremin as well, and then lost the man I thought of as a father ten years later. So, cheer up life is only starting." Lovell's words touched their broken hearts. "Now it seems I need to take care of this Ratway leader if you are going to be free to come with us." Lovell got up, as Scarlet knew he said those words without thinking.

Zero and Zephyr told him where their headquarters was located. Zephyr looked at Lovell, "Will you be killing the boss?"

Lovell looked at her, smiled. "Not really, I will be taking his sight as a waring though." Zero remembering what he said to one of the men before dragging him here. "Scarlet, do mind getting them cleaned up back at your place, I'll deal with this alone."

Scarlet nodded. "Not a problem but you do know you acted without thinking where you said that they were coming along." She smiled as she led the twins back to her place.

Lovell rubbed his head, "Man, I'm really a kynroc, oh well, more the merrier they say." Lovell headed off to the Ratway's hideout.

"B-boss, we have trouble!" the man Lovell gave the warning to ran up to his boss.

The boss was grabbing him by the head. "Oh, what kind of trouble and where are those twins at!?" The boos looking around at the other members, they all looked at each other asking and shrugging at their bosses' question.

The man squirmed at the pain of the bosses' grasp. "That just it, sir, they were taken by a man that gave me a message for you." The man screamed in pain as the boss tightened his grip.

The boos lifted him closer. "What's the message—" The sound of men yelling caught his attention. "Now what?!"

Lovell tossed one of his men to the side, unconscious, "Well that I would take the light of day away from you." Lovell walked closer as the boss let go of the man. The man scurried away, "Well, you would think he was a rat after scurrying away like that?"

The boss stood up. "So, you took my pets from me?" Lovell bowed with a smile. The boos grabbed his staff from beside him. "You will rue the day you crossed paths with me boy!"

Lovell laughed at him, the boss readied himself, "You want to go against me don't make me laugh beastmen. You have no idea who I am?" Lovell's eye glowed as water raise into the air forming into spikes.

The man with the message, crawled out, "He's the black wolf of the—"

The boss sneered, "I know who he is, the famous black wolf, Lovell of the Goanna Mercenaries. We met nine years ago before I took over as the leader."

Lovell looked at him trying to remember his face. "Oh, it's you, sorry if I don't remember you name but let's—" Lovell flashed stepped in front of him, the man shocked at how fast Lovell was as the boss saw Lovells hand cover his eyes. "—do what I came here to do and get rid of that sight of yours." T A cold sweat trickled down the bosses' back as Lovell destroyed his eye's. Lovell walked away, waved his hand, "I never came for a fight only a bluff attack and getting rid of those eyes of yours."

The boss groaned in agony, realizing he got off lucky, Lovell was much more powerful than he had thought. Losing the twins was nothing compared to what Lovell could have done to him. He orders the man to tell the others to leave the twins alone and that they were free to do as they pleased. The man nodded as he ran off.

Lovell returned to the de Rosier house to see Zero waiting for him. "So, what did you do to the boss?"

Lovell smiled, touching his head, "I took his sight as fair warning that I'm out of his league in power, besides you and your sister are now free." Heading inside Zero felt some weight lifted as he smiled, fallowing Lovell in, only to see him stopped. "Lesson for you here Zero," Lovell's voice cracked in fear, looking over Zero notice a burly man standing in front of Lovell, "Never tick off n.o.bles what you are going to with their baby girl."

Mr. Rosier dragged Lovell off, yelling at him for his actions as Scarlet and Zephyr walked over. "My father is lechering him, isn't he?" Zero nodded. "Well, we did get the supplies we need because of my worry wort of a father. Anyway Zero—" The sound of her father smas.h.i.+ng things echoed as Lovell kept apologizing. "Anyway, we will be leaving in three days so, you and your sister rest up—" Lovell running past as her father chased him, Scarlet closed her eyes in disappointment as she sent vines to stop her father. "Father!"

He tried to get free as Lovell hid behind Scarlet. "Man, I said I was sorry, but at least I sent her home before is did anything to put her in harm's way!" Lovell cowered be hind her. Scarlet scowling at her father as he stopped to see his daughter angry at his actions.

Zero looked at Lovell, "You can be brave but are a real cowered when it comes to this."

Lovell glared at him, "Look, a woman's father is scary, and they will go to many lengths to protect them." Lovell looked Mr. Rosier, "well most of them anyway."

Mr. Rosier growled at Lovell as Scarlet yelled at her father, Zephyr hid behind Lovell as Zero watched it unfold. The next three days Lovell made sure that the gear was ready and that they had everything. Knowing that it would be a long road before he rejoined Gale and Lance. Lovell looked over to see Zero and Zephyr resting on the couch. He smiled as he woke them to get ready. He felt almost like a father to them the way he took them in, as they woke, Scarlet walked in to see if everyone was ready. Lovell telling her that he just finished checking over everything, while the twins got up. A servant walked in letting them know that breakfast was ready in ten. Scarlet nodded at the servant as they left, as the twins finished getting ready.

Sitting down to eat Lovell noticed that Scarlet's father was missing. "Hey Scarlet, where's' your father at? I thought he would see you off on your first journey?"

Scarlet put her fork down, "He left last night to the capital, the king ahs summoned all the leading family heads to a meeting about the what happened in Marewood twenty days ago. Something about Lunatica's reincarnation being seen there? Why?"

Lovell stood up, "Are you sure that she was seen there?!"

Scarlet surprised by his reaction. "Yes, a young woman with silver hair and eyes with ivory skin was seen leaving with three young men one believed to be Prince Gale of Grand Dale."

Lovell sat down smiling, "They found her, they found her." Tears ran down Lovell's face.

Scarlet and they others looked at him; Zephyr s.h.i.+fted in her seat, "What do you mean Lovell?" Zephyr was trying to make sense of what was going on.

Lovell grinned, "Well, Gale was with me before I left, and I said that I need to find myself and that I would return as so as I did. One of the other two males is Lance, his longtime friend, that I met back in Stonebeak, and well, after that we travelled for a short three months, but I told them I was searching for Luna, the woman you described, as I made a promise to her to always protect her."

Scarlet was surprised that he knew them, "So, is she the real deal then or is it not that—"

"Yes, she was a baby at the time I last saw her, but the mark was in her, no doubt about it," Lovell interjected himself. "Did you hear where they were heading, it might save us a trip." Scarlet shook her head. "Ok, let's finish eating and get to Summerwind!" Lovell was br.i.m.m.i.n.g with excitement to finish the first leg of his journey finally.

AS they, walked the streets of Summerwind, Lovell noticed a person run by that looked like Gale, he turned to see but lost sight of them right away. Shrugging it off as thought he was seeing the thing, made his way to the inn with the others. Scarlet got them two rooms for the next five nights, giving them time to go and ask for information about Lance and Gale's whereabouts.

"Hey, Scarlet! I'm heading out for a while; I'll be back for dinner." Lovell is letting Scarlet know as she and Zephyr settled into their room. He headed out to the plaza, looking around he noticed someone in the distance tacking a change Lovell called out to them. "Lance! Lance is that you?!"

Looking around Lance noticed someone in the distance, calling his name. He squinted through the crowd to see that is was Lovell. "L-Lovell! Is that you?!" they ran up to each other. Grasping each other's forearms, Lance looked up and down Lovell, "I-I can believe it you are here and you… you seem different? Different in a good way though."

Lovell smiled, "Yeah, a lot happened over the last twenty-four days, but I heard that you and Gale are travelling with Luna and one other?" Letting go of each other.

Lance nodded, "A lot happened with us as well, oh and when we found Luna, Fang was with her, just as Mrs. Humbly said, he is—"

"Is what, Lance?" Fang walked up behind him, Lance jumped, turning to meet Fangs glare. Looking at Lovell, "and who are you?"

"I'd say the something Fang Krisnik, son of Terrance Krisnik, known as Azoth Wolf now though." Lovell sneered at Fang. "Also, I'm Lovell Krisnik, your younger half-brother."

Fang stared at him, "so you know already about—" Lovell nodded. "Ok then let's talk back at the inn." He points in the direction of the same inn, Scarlet and the twins were at. Lovell let him lead the way as Lance fallowed behind.

As they reach the inn Zero waited outside with Zephyr, "You know your late Lovell, and Scarlets mad?" Looking up he notices Lovell was with tow others. "You know them or something—ouch!" Lovell smacked him across the head. Zephyr winced as she watched.

"Sorry for his behaviour, he is someone I picked up, anyway it looks like all of us are staying at the same inn so, why don't we all eat together," Lovell suggested to them, Fang and Lance both nodded. "Besides, Scarlet might be more understanding otherwise, hopefully?"

Lovell walked in with them as they headed off to get Gale and Luna to join them, Lovell looked over to Scarlet sitting at a table tapping the table as she watches him. Swallowing his fears, he pulled another table closer, as the twins gathered the chairs. "So, who was that you walked in with?"

Lovell felt a chill in the air as Scarlet was ready to boil over. "That was Fang my half brother and Lance that I had already mentioned back in Fallmist."

Scarlet dropped her mouth. "Tell me you are kidding?" Lovell shook his head; Scarlet sat back. "They went here, and fate brought us to them. Now…now why is that?"

Fang and Lance returned with Gale and Luna. Lovell noticed something had happened to Gale; he didn't look the same as he left. "What happened to Gale?" Turning to Lance. Lance explained what happened, Lovell looked at him, "At least your alive Gale, I don't care if you are human, daemon or heck an elf, just as long as your alive."

Gale thanked him as he smiled. Luna walked over to Lovell, "Its nice to meet you Lovell, I'm Luna." She extended her hand to him. Lovell felt lost in words as his face turned red. Luna looked at him, "Is something the matter?"

Lovell panicked, "N-no, n-not at all!" Lovell could figure out what was going on with himself why he felt some jumpy as his heart raced at the sight of Luna. "Ah, r-right, this is Scarlet, Zero and his sister Zephyr." Lovell was trying to get his mind distracted. "Scarlet, her help me recover after an incident that ill explain later, back in Fallmist, and that where I also met the twins."

Scarlet extended her hand to Luna, "Its nice to meet you."

Luna softly smiled, "Likewise, I'm just happy I found all of the warriors now."

Lovell almost fell out of his chair, "Wait all six Ren-Ky warriors are here?"

Luna nodded, "though I could only find them after finding you though." She clasped her hands together. "To think, Lance the Winds of freedom, Gale the Lightning of strength, Scarlet the Earth of Kindness, Zero the Flames of Courage, and Zephyr the Waters of Knowledge would find their way to you Lovell, the warrior of light."

Lovell looked at her, his eyes darkened, "No, I'm not the warrior of light." Luna tucked her hands in, his face stiffened. "I'm the warrior of light and darkness of balance." Lance leaned on the edge of his seat as he heard the words come from Lovell.

Luna stared hard into Lovells eyes to see a fire that hungered for blood and the fire to protect. Luna stepped back. "Wait, but I thought that the champion of light when tempted by—"

Lovell sighed, his face turning red once more. "Well I am different where I have the darkness fever, still coursing through me." Placing his hand on his chest. "But someone showed me that I could control it, if I excepted and understood the true meaning of what good and evil is." Lovell smiled as he looked at everyone. "I think I should explain what happened shouldn't i?" They all nodded, Scarlet order the food knowing what Lovell was going to say. "Ok then, lets start with the fact I was captured by the Faremin forces when I was suffering from the brunt of the fever."

Gale leaned forward, "You were captured?!"

Lovell nodded, "Yes but I was unaware till I came to from the spirit realm, where I was dragged in by a woman named Ulva—"

"Wait, was this Ulva a wolf beastman with a grey coat?" Fang stood up suddenly. Luna grabbing his s.h.i.+rt tell him to sit down.

Fang sat down, Lovell looked at him, "Yes, she said she knows my—our father, as well as Morris." Lovell shook his head, "Anyway when I came to, I was brought to Mourn Fortress—"

Luna cut him off, "Wait that's a two-month journey here?"

Lovell glared at the others, "Will anyone let me finish before asking more questions?!" Seeing that Lovell was irritated at them already they shook their heads. "Now, after I woke, I met someone within who helped me escape, but at the same time Azoth showed up." Fang stiffened as he listened. "The person who captured me told me who I was and a little about who my father is." Lovell clenched his pants, remembering what Ulva had said. "Though I was there for a short while the Dark lard himself had originally order for my death, changed it so that I would be bait in finding Luna. For the reason's unknown to me, the person, Kyle, told me the plan and decided that I had to leave soon than he had predicted, he had me learn the spell teleport, to try and get me out, but I choked till Ulva came back. For some reason Azoth was in pain seeing her, which allowed me to tell me to trust my magic and I got out." Lovell looked at Scarlet, "After escaping, I somehow ended up at Scarlets doorstep and I had been there for sixteen days before leaving to here four days ago."

Lance stared at him. "Did they try and convert you to join?"

Lovell closed his eyes, "Yes, my captor did and the leader of the fortress as well, but as you can see, I refused, but I think I would have if it weren't for Ulva saving me first."

Fang s.h.i.+fted his weight. "Lovell, should I tell them about 'him,' or do you want to?"

Lovell looked over to Fang, "I will…" Luna and the others confused on what was going on. Turned to Lovell, as he turned away, "The person we are referring to is our grandfather on our fathers' side." That all sat waiting to here it. Lovell sighed, "Our grandfather is Lord Damora, the dark lord himself."

Luna and the others stared at Lovell; Fang sighed, "It's true I never told you because I wait till we found Lovell."

Luna started shaking, "So, you," she turned to Fang, "and you, Fang, are Faremin?" Fang nodded, Lovell couldn't look at her. "So, all this time you—"

"Luna, I thought the same thing about the Faremin, and Kyle changed my mind." Lovell could find the courage to turn to talk to her. "I found out that the dark lord forces his citizens to either forced labour. Or they are forced to join the army. They don't have the freedom to do anything, and there may be a resistances within their forces, just like Kyle or—"

The sound of screams rang outside, he and the others ran out, while Luna sat still, Scarlet touched her shoulder. "Lovell is right, about this, he is an example of what good can look like from within the darkest moments of any situation even if they are the enemy." She ran off to join the others. Luna closed her eyes realizing that she was right as she went off to help in any way.

Looking around Lovell, Gale and Fang were fighting Faremin soldiers with the local hunters, while Scarlet, Zephyr and Lance helped get the citizens to safety. Luna went to help with helping the citizens. But Lovell flew past her, looking over she noticed a man that looked like a boy she knew walked over to him. He smiled in enjoyment.

Luna tucked herself in, "River?!" He stopped as Luna said his name.

He looked over, "Luna? What are you doing here?" River turned to face her, the dust floating between them, as time seemed to stop for them.
