Chapter 8 Part 3 – Old Fox and Small Fox
Chen Minhao was feeling dejected. The true nature of the matter which drove him so much unhappiness, discontentment, and feeling torn from Friday to Monday, was actually just the story of a woman having n amount of men wrapped around her little finger, and the men consisted of Zhou Mingrui who cried in the number four practice room, Zhang Ye and Tong Ruize who walked into her trap, the CEO who was used as a weapon by her, and himself.
His actual mood right now was mixed with joy and worries. The reason he felt joyful was because with such an agent, the resources he would get in the future was secured. Whereas, the reason he felt worried was because with an agent like Kang Hui, he was worried that he would still be kept in the dark when there comes a time she sold him away.
Kang Hui showed a lovely smile and said, “”Well, it was nice talking to you. Wan Anqi and Wu Xiaofrost are block heads, they don't understand even if I explain to them. I get a sense of accomplishment when I explained these things to you. If I don't tell these to you, I can only be an unknown hero behind the scene.
What b.i.t.c.hiness!
Chen Minhao felt very interested as to what kind of man could tame the cunning old fox in the future.
“But don't bring this matter up to Zhou Mingrui. The gra.s.s is always greener on the other side. Reach out a hand to him when he hits bottom, only then can he rise higher,” added Kang Hui.
Chen Minhao felt that he must have seen an illusion, he actually felt Kang Hui was a little sad when she said that.
Chen Minhao made an action where he zipped his mouth closed.
Then, he looked at Kang Hui and brought up his second objective for coming to see her.
“I wrote a song recently, I think it is quite suitable for senior sister. I want to give it to her for free, but I don't know if she will like it.”
When he spoke, he emphasized on the word, “free”
During the weekend, after Chen Minhao successfully adjusts his mentality, he felt that he was too pa.s.sive, and he should take the initiative more.
With the thought of what Kang Hui had said before – “If you want to climb the ladder of the entertainment industry, you need to consider issues from the others' perspectives”, he decided to gift Wan Anqi a song as an investment in her.
Although there was no profit sharing agreement in his trainee contract, the purpose of the investment was to obtain benefit in the foreseeable future. Benefit does not only come in the form of cash.
The return on the investment is uncertain because he doesn't know what Wan Anqi could give in return to him. The risk in investing her clearly exists as well: for example, there's a possibility that Wan Anqi is a petty person, she accepts the song as a gift but she don't retun the favor, there is a possibility that be Wan Anqi's vocal ability sucks badly as well and the song doesn't become popular because her bad singing. However, the worst outcome of his investment is just wasting a song that is not suitable for himself in the first place.
No pain, no gain.
Even if Kang Hui has some doubts about his “self-written song”, he believes that she will certainly not ask too many questions about it based on her intelligence, she may even help him with the song.
Kang Hui slightly nodded, and said, “Wan Anqi will be attending an event this Friday at Shanghai. Let's listen to your song together when she is here.”
Kang Hui thought to herself internally. The most expensive things in this world is those that are free. Little fox.
Kang Hui glanced at Chen Minhao. “Have you been walking home everyday lately? You've have grown tanned. As an artist, you have to take care of your face. Take a taxi back! I will give you ten thousand dollars, this will be deducted from your earnings in the future.”
Chen Minhao sat upright and gleefully thanked her. “Thanks Sis Kang.”
