Of course, Jayesh was the person most worried about his queen, but Zylvia was pretty concerned for her as well. It was a great relief that Fayre was the sort of person to brush things off really easily.
Fayre had always been rather cheerful. It was one of the things that drew people to her, this ability she had of being able to handle just about anything with a smile. It was something that Zylvia had always admired about her, this att.i.tude that she had.
It was also what had made Jayesh fall head over heels for her. The king had been drawn to her just how friendly she was, and had been utterly convinced that she would be able to stand beside of him with no harm to her spirit. Fayre was the sort of person that darkness just could not touch.
This was why all of them wanted to protect her. Zylvia was pretty sure her own husband treated Fayre like a sister and was rather protective of her. Which she was glad of, as she was confident that her husband could keep do quite a bit to keep her best friend safe.
Fayre currently had a soft teasing smile on her face as she looked at Zylvia, "Well, you and Kaldrek are certainly getting along well, flirting with each other with little concern of who is around."
"Well, I guess that Jayesh and you must be rubbing off on us," The quip rolled off of Zylvia's tongue naturally.
Fayre laughed, "Heh, yeah I suppose we are quite bad at times, aren't we?"
"Well, I think it is sweet," Laughter bubbled in her throat as Zylvia patted her friend's hand, "The two of you have a wonderful relations.h.i.+p that would make many people jealous."
"I know," Fayre's eyes grew even more soft and warm just thinking about the man she had married, "I am a very lucky girl, having a husband like mine."
Zylvia a.s.sented to this. Though she really thought that the happiness came just from having the person you loved love you back. It was something that she had often thought about. Marital happiness was not hard, it came naturally as long as you were willing to put in the effort and even more so if your spouse did as well.
She looked down at the baby clothes she was working on. As much as she had wanted children before she was willing to be patient. Now that she and Kaldrek had figured out their relations.h.i.+p it was most likely only a matter of time. Children would come when they came.
She happily worked throughout the afternoon. Soon Jayesh came to fetch them to supper, where they were quickly joined by Kaldrek. Kaldrek grinned as soon as he saw her, which made Zylvia smile back at him in return.
As much as Zylvia wished that the two of them had gotten together years ago, she also realized that it was nice that they had such a deep friends.h.i.+p first. Though they still could have gotten married two years ago and still have a profoundly deep friends.h.i.+p.
The two of them just clicked together in so many ways. She found him pretty easy to understand, he was after all rather straightforward, and logical, even if he sometimes seemed a little out of sync with certain normal things. He was the sort of person that complicated concepts came easily to him, but basic concepts that came normally to people he sometimes struggled with.
And she was pretty sure he understood her pretty well too. He seemed aware of her weak points and did his best to be considerate of her. Just the fact that he was trying helped a lot as she knew he struggled with the very things she needed.
Kaldrek was highly logical and she was a naturally empathetic person. It might sound like they were opposites but Zylvia thought that they complimented each other quite nicely. Rounded each other out.
After eating supper, she left with him to go to their bedroom. She happily took hold of his arm, and pressed herself against him. He seemed rather quiet now, as if he was thinking of something.
She got ready for bed and then asked him to join her as she lept unto their bed. He sat down beside of her and reached out to touch her hair.
"Oh," She tilted her head as she remembered something, "What was it you wanted to tell me?"
