It was noon.

Alchemy cla.s.s had just ended.

Seth walked out of the cla.s.sroom along with the other students.

He did not have many friends in this school. Even if he had any, ever since the incident half a year ago, they had stopped approaching him. Thus, unlike the other students whom would bunch up and walk together, Seth separated from them all and went his own way.

He walked down 2 flights of stairs. Then, he went out of the middle school building, and began making his way towards the high school building.

The Savant Snake Alchemic 'school' actually has 3 school buildings in total: One elementary school, one middle school, and one high school.

The elementary school is the smallest. The middle school is bigger. And the high school is the biggest. This isn't because the schools of the upper grades have more students, but because the more advanced cla.s.ses require more facilities, including training grounds and laboratories. The 3 schools were built not too far from each other, and all of the buildings were colored pink, making them very eye-catching.

Students in higher grades would have their cla.s.ses in higher floors, and vice versa.

The roads in between all 3 schools are surrounded by greenery. Said greenery give a very comforting sensation to the students that walk through those roads.

Every once in a while, you would be able to see some cute quadrupedal kitties, jumping out of the bushes.

It is the very picture of a peaceful school life.

...

Kasor Wartle walked through the wide middle hallway of the 3rd floor of the high school building. Dressed in a green academics robe, he looks like a refined, middle-aged man. But in actuality, he is an old man soon to enter his late 50s. He is walking in a pace that can be considered neither slow, nor fast, all the while exuding the grace of a cultured senior.

Every time a student is about to pa.s.s him by, no matter what year they are in, they would first bow to him, raise their voices, and say, "Greetings, Headmaster!"

Kasor Wartle, or rather, Headmaster Wartle, would nod his head each time. This is how students should be: humble! polite! respectful!

They shouldn't be like a certain someone who doesn't know how to respect his elders...

Just when he was thinking about that certain someone, a young man appeared in his view, causing him to put on a deep frown.

This young man is still a middle school student. If he has come here, to this high school building, then there can only be one reason.

Headmaster Wartle immediately used a spell to send a message to the school's elders.

As the leader of one of the leading forces of an immortal city, it is nothing weird for him to have cultivated some spells. Most mortal cities do not have magic cultivation techniques. However, immortal cities usually do. It is just that they normally try to prevent magic cultivation techniques from falling into the hands of mortal cities to lower the chance of any rebellions by those mortal cities.

For the Savant Snake alchemic school, their magic cultivation techniques and spells will be made available to any students, teachers, and elders, whom they deemed highly trustworthy. The headmaster, being the one who leads the school, will obviously have access to every one of the school's spells and techniques.

The 'sound transmission spell' is a spell that, once activated, can condense the words spoken by the user and send them through the air. As long as the walls or obstacles, are not thick enough, nor numerous enough, the condensed words can go through them as well. The message can even go through people's bodies. But this also means that as long as they have a method to see it, people can interrupt or intercept the message sent by this spell. The range of the sound transmission depends on the amount of magic energy put into it.

Kasor had heard before, that in higher ranked cities, what people use, is something called a 'telepathy spell', a spell that can directly send a message into a person's mind. This spell is harder to interrupt, and harder to intercept.

If a tracking function is added to the sound transmission spell, then the message that is sent, can travel all the way to the target, even if the target is not in the user's current field of view. However, this would require the two parties to register each other into their spell blueprints beforehand.

Headmaster Wartle had already registered all the elders of his school into his sound transmission spell blueprint, and during the day, most of those elders would usually be in their respective training rooms or labs in the high school. Thus, so long as they aren't sleeping, they should receive the message.

The message that Headmaster Wartle sent was, "All elders currently present in the building, convene in my office post haste!"

Then, he stared down at the young man that had walked up to him.

"..."

"..."

Neither of them said anything.

The young man has a smile on his face, but no greeting came from him.

Naturally, Headmaster Wartle did not feel good about this.

"...Follow me." He said in a cold voice. Then, he began walking in one direction.

The young man followed after him.

They walked through the hallway.

The students that saw them couldn't help but chatter.

"Hey, it's that middle school brat again. What was his name? The one that somehow killed elder Croc?" One male student said.

"It's Seth. It looks like he's been called by the headmaster again. What do you think he did wrong this time? Did the murderer kill another person?" One female student replied.

...

5 minutes later, the elders of the school walked into the headmaster's office. Aside from one old man, most of the elders appear to be either in their late 20s, or middle-aged. None of them are actually as young as they appear.

In this world, a human mortal's maximum life span is 100 years; This is a number that they can only reach if their bodies remain perfectly healthy throughout their entire lives, a feat which only a very small percentage of human mortals can accomplish. Once a human reaches 30 years of age, they would be considered middle-aged. Once they pa.s.s 50, they would be considered old.

But in the case of cultivators whom have broken through to the 3rd stage, the escaping fatality stage, after each level, their outer appearance would regress slightly in age. This is due to the fact that after a cultivator reaches the 3rd stage, each level in that stage would rejuvenate their cells and grant them another 10 years of life. A person at the peak of the 3rd stage, would look to be half as old as he actually is. Although, there are other factors that can make a person look older; For example, excessive stress, long-lasting injuries, and difficult-to-cure diseases.

Once all of the school's elders have entered the office, the door was closed shut.

The office is large. Inside the office, the walls are all layered with steel. It is practically a safe room.

The elders faced the wide wooden desk in front of the thick gla.s.s window, and all 7 of them, all at once, bowed their heads.

They all shouted in unison, with very respectful tones to their voices, "Greetings, headmaster!"

"Rise. You may take your seats."

Hearing those words from the figure seated behind the wide desk, the 7 elders straightened their backs. Then, they sat down on their chairs, placed by the sides of the office.

10 minutes after that, a steaming hot cup of tea, on a tea plate, was placed on top of the desk, letting off a fragrant smell.

Headmaster Wartle asked with a smile on his face, "What matter do you have for us today, headmaster?"

"..." "..." "..." "..." "..." "..." "..."

No one could bring themselves to say anything.

The refined headmaster of the Savant Snake alchemic school, is serving tea to the 14 year old middle school student sitting on the headmaster's seat, while addressing him with an ingratiating att.i.tude.

The headmaster is a butler, and the student is the headmaster.

This just seems so wrong...

Seth took a sip of the tea.

"Hmm... It's not poisoned today." He commented.

"This servant wouldn't dare." The supposed headmaster, Kasor Wartle, bowed his head. The scars have already healed, but he could still feel that tingling sensation coming from his back where he had been brutally lashed.

He can still remember what had happened approximately 7 months ago...

According to eyewitness accounts...

Back then, Seth's wife, the girl called Nala Zefer, had come to school like usual.

At that time, she was 4 months pregnant, and her belly had grown to the point that people could tell that she was so.

Then, there was this very, VERY, stupid student.

That stupid student was the grandson of one of the elders of the Savant Snake alchemic school, the one called elder Croc. That elder's grandson was that type of naughty student who would go around the school with his followers flattering him, and b*tches at each of his sides.

When this naughty, IDIOTIC, student, saw the pregnant Nala Zefer, he immediately started taunting her, calling her a s.l.u.t, a b*tch, an easily impregnated wh.o.r.e. The students that were his followers joined him in his taunting, causing enough of a ruckus, that everyone in the area could hear.

The impatient Nala Zefer, who couldn't stand the verbal abuse anymore, lashed out with her magic, cutting apart the d*ck of that moron.

The shower of blood that erupted at that moment, is still talked about among the students even now...

That poor, idiotic, moron, immediately sent all of his followers to kill the girl.

Unfortunately for him, all his follower were killed by her in one wave. The moron himself, was smashed into a tree, causing it to snap and fall. If it weren't for his higher cultivation level, he definitely would have died.

That idiot's grandfather, elder Croc, quickly heard word of this.

He immediately rushed over to deliver divine retribution onto that ruthless b*tch!

The result? When he barged into the Zefer family's house in dark ash city, he had met Seth instead.

Then, they fought.

Then, he died. The one who died wasn't Seth, but elder Croc.

The exact details of the fight were unknown to Kasor. The next day's morning, the student Seth, was happily kicking a b.l.o.o.d.y red 'soccer ball' on the road to school, freaking out many of the other commuting students.

The elders of the school, having learned that one of their own had been killed, all gathered together to apprehend Seth.

An elder of their school, one ranked as high as them, was killed by one of their own students. They felt terribly disrespected. Whether their relations.h.i.+p with that elder who had been killed was amiable or not, this was something that they could not forgive.

The only one who did not partic.i.p.ate in the arrest, was the elder who had brought Seth to the school in the first place, elder Liao, who had come out of retirement the day he came back to dark ash city with Seth.

Surprisingly, Seth had put up no resistance. He allowed himself to be tied up and dragged to the headmaster for his execution.

...That was the beginning of their misery.

When that young man, Seth, was dragged before him, Kasor ordered his immediate decapitation!

But instead of falling into despair or begging for his life like they had expected, the Seth who heard his own death sentence, smiled.

It was a very bright, and wicked, smile.

A great many gun turrets rose up all around him, pointing their muzzles at every which direction. They were all marble in color and had a surface like sand.

Fire flashed, and what seemed to be countless thin and long stakes shot out like bullets from gatlings.

Blame them for being in a fortified room at that moment, but the headmaster and the elders couldn't immediately dodge. The window wasn't open, someone was dumb enough to lock the door, and the steel walls couldn't be broken through.

All of them were blasted into porcupines by the sudden sneak attack.

The red hot stakes would stab into their bodies, granting them excruciating pain. The burning sensation was truly something to die for.

Kasor was no stranger to magic. He himself is a spellcaster specializing in fire magic, which is known to be the most devastating element of magic there is.

But he had never seen a spell as frightening as that one. As far as he knew, even real turrets are not as terrifying!

All the furniture in the room was reduced to smithereens. The sparks that flew into their air made everything that was made of wood set on fire.

The metal walls, were being dented into.

Kasor himself, a peak escaping fatality stage expert, was nailed to the reinforced window, coughing up blood.

Black smoke filled the air.

All he could do was protect his head, hoping that the barrage would quickly end, and that he could quickly consume some high level healing elixirs to heal his wounds and save his own life.

If it weren't for the fact that Seth wasn't really trying to kill them back then, Kasor and all those elders there at that time, would definitely have died.

After bringing them down to an inch away from the nonexistent afterlife, Seth asked them in a most casual tone:

"Subservience, or death?"

With battered bodies and bitter hearts, each lying in a pool of their own blood, Kasor and the others all swore their loyalty to Seth.
