In a certain room within the Zefer family mansion, one woman sat atop another, with both her hands gripping increasingly tightly on the woman on the bottom's throat. The furniture in the room was scattered into a mess, indicating the fight that had occurred within.

The woman on the bottom was groaning as she thrashed about desperately, kicking around her legs, and using her hands to strike at the woman a.s.saulting her. Her chest moved up and down in an attempt to breathe, but no air was coming through, whilst her face was beginning to turn blue from oxygen deprivation.

"Die! Die! Your son killed my son, so now you must pay the price!" Ignoring the resistance shown against her, the woman on top pulled up the head of the woman below her, and then slammed it viciously against the floor, knocking the remaining air in that woman's lungs out.

Then, the woman on top repeated that action again and again, causing the floor to crack and be smeared with blood. With each hit against the floor, the woman on the bottom's body would jolt, and her consciousness would shake.

The slamming sounds echoed out loudly for what seemed to be an uncountable number of times, as the woman on the bottom's responses grew weaker and feebler, until finally...

BAM!

The woman on top flew across the room and slammed into a wall.

Seth was speechless.

As he was returning to his room, he suddenly heard some loud noises coming from his mother's room nearby. Thinking that it has been a long time since his father came to violate his mother, he curiously opened the door, intending to peek. What he found was his eldest aunt beating his mother to death.

What he thought at that moment, was, "If you're going to murder someone, can't you do it more quietly?"

Ever since Seth's mother, Lady Aki, was forced into a marriage, her heart and her body, had slowly been weakening. If a fight were to occur between her and Lady Kesha, who had always been living quite the comfortable life as the family lord's official wife, Lady Aki had no chance of winning.

However, in the end, no matter how much difference there is between the two of them, both of them are just ordinary women. If that Lady Kesha were to confront a martial artist like Seth, she would be crushed like a bug.

"In the end, I am too gentle with women, settling with only giving an extra crack to her b.u.t.t. I doubt she will be walking ever again though."

Seth then looked at his own mother, and frowned. Sprawled unconscious on the floor, with a miniature pool of fresh blood beneath her head, and her neck appearing somewhat mangled, she looks like a newly made corpse.

He crouched by her side and gave her a touch. "Her body is still warm. There's no breathe, but she is probably not dead yet."

Seth quickly drew upon what mundane medical knowledge he had learned who knows how long ago, and began operating, starting with CPR, and then, after confirming whether or not she had a skull fracture, took out some tools from out of nowhere, and began treatment.

With bandages wrapped around her head and neck, Lady Aki laid weakly on her bed, the sound of her breathing barely audible.

Lady Kesha's unconscious body was taken away by the nervous servants that were called in, and brought to a clinic to have her broken b.u.t.t be treated.

After hearing of the commotion, Merab Zefer had come to take a look at his wife and concubine. But all he did was look. He confirmed that his wife had not died, for if she really had, he really would have to think of an excuse to give to her father. Her death would signify something completely different from the death of their son after all.

He praised Seth for his calm decision making before leaving.

With Seth casually watching over her, Lady Aki eventually opened her eyes after two nights. Due to the back of her head having been badly injured, Seth had made her sleep on her side.

Still feeling groggy, Lady Aki scanned the room with just her eyes. The first thing that she saw was Seth, sitting nearby, staring at her.

"Good morning, mother." Seth said with a smile.

Lady Aki didn't reply. Although they run into each other on a daily basis, this pair of mother and son rarely ever managed to hold a proper conversation. The son would greet the mother, and then, the mother would give her son a sentence before she pa.s.ses him by.

Lady Aki tried to move her body, but immediately felt her head ache and her neck hurt. She gave up on moving around, and then started thinking back to the last thing in her memory.

That madwoman, Lady Kesha, had broken down the door to her room and a.s.saulted her. She was not able to resist for long before she was shoved down onto the floor, straddled and strangled. She tried desperately to get her off, but was unable to. Then, the madwoman slammed her head against the floor again and again, until she blacked out. It was frightening and painful.

Lady Aki tried to say something, but pain immediately came from her throat, causing her to cough. The cough brought along with it a bit of blood.

"Your throat seems to have been scarred a little, so you shouldn't try to talk. Try not to move your neck or head yet either. If you have anything to say, try lip syncing it. I have learned a bit of how to read lips."

After a moment of hesitation, Lady Aki did just that. She silently moved her lips.

Staring at her lips, Seth nodded a few times. Then, with a thumbs-up, he replied "Don't worry, even if a few scars remain, mother will still be a ravis.h.i.+ng beauty capable of toppling countries, sinking s.h.i.+ps, and dropping dragons.".

Lady Aki stared at her son with a humorless expression.

A normal woman would certainly love to hear such flattery, even if it is not actually sincere. But ever since Lady Aki was married, her appet.i.te had been slowly decreasing, causing her body to grow increasingly thinner. Her hair hasn't been well taken care of, causing it to lose its l.u.s.ter, while her skin has become dry.

Although she still has the frame of a beauty, her attractiveness has plummeted compared to when she was young. It has plummeted to the point that her husband would rarely ever visit her now.

"Uh…" Seeing that expression and recalling how lacking of a sense of humor his mother has, Seth decided to be serious once in this lifetime. "That lady Kesha's b.u.t.t has cracked and she was sent to the clinic. Huh? No, I'm not joking this time. I'm not talking about the crack that was already there. I really kicked her b.u.t.t. …Did you want her dead? I don't think father's subservience level is high enough for him to forgive me for killing a political agent like her yet. Wait until it reaches level 2, mother, then I'll flay her alive for you. Hm? You don't care? How boring…"

"Did I kill her son? You haven't heard? This…"

Seeing his mother ask this, a guilty look appeared on Seth's face. Although he doesn't truly view this woman as his mother, he never intended to personally make her suffer. It's just that, often when he acts... he doesn't fully think through the consequences. Knowing that he was half to blame for her near-death experience, he could not just act unrelated.

But seeing Seth fidgeting around in guilt instead caused a smile to creep onto Lady Aki's face. For the first time in her life, she gave a whisper of praise to her son.

"Good job."

Instead of blaming her son like she should, she instead praised him, for killing the favored son of that evil man and that vicious woman.

In fact, Lady Aki didn't really care that much about whether she herself lived or died. If she died from being killed, she would be blameless. She would no longer suffer living in this prison where she is wasting away. Her true family will no longer be held hostage against her once she is dead, and she would never again experience her body being defiled by someone she has only hate for.

Hearing her praise, Seth's eyes brightened. He realized that he had taken the wrong approach with this woman up til now. There are some people out there that, instead of hearing themselves being flattered, would rather hear their enemies being bad-mouthed.

Thus, Seth began spouting one line after another, each more s.a.d.i.s.tic than the last, and each targeted towards one of his mother's enemies within the mansion. Some were plain dark humor, while others were so frightening as to give people nightmares.

Lady Aki was surprised to see this side of her son who was always so well-behaved in the past. In the end, she found herself amused. Without realizing it, tonight, despite barely being able to say anything, would become the night where she would have the longest conversation she ever had with this b.a.s.t.a.r.d son of hers.
