On that day, at that moment, a widespread earthquake shook the entire northern continent.

This earthquake took to the skies, alerting all the transcendent cities, and destabilizing all the celestial cities.

It spread through the earth, shaking all the supreme cities, immortal cities, and mortal cities.

It is not that such a earthquake has never occurred before, but one that is so powerful is rare. It is something that would happen only once every few hundred years, and each time that it happens, it would cause a continent to crack, and lava lakes to appear at the centers of these cracks. If the earthquake were to start near an edge of the continent, new islands would usually be produced. Anyone near the center of the earthquake, without sufficient power to protect themselves, would die off.

Haradur city is located close to the edge of the northern continent, far, far away, from the continent's center.

But today, it also experienced a great tremble, causing everyone inside and outside the city to fall on their feet.

Despite having traveled such a distance, the noise was still strong enough to rumble in their ears like bad music.

Weakened and partially destroyed houses crumbled and fell.

The citizens went into another panic. First, there are the bandits attacking them, and now, there is this. Have they somehow angered the G.o.ds and caused divine punishment to befall them?

During the earthquake, a telepathic message arrived in Seth's head. The voice within the message was full of complaint. "Stupid master! Stop shaking kitty's bottom!!"

"It wasn't me!! I haven't recovered anywhere near that much power!" Seth shouted back, using another telepathic message. He too, was feeling quite off-balanced.

The earthquake did not last long.

As soon as it was about to end, Seth had to dodge a fist coming at him from the 4th stage Ronold Wolf. The earthquake had swept pa.s.sed for a short time, and then it went away, but his fight is still going on.

That fist enlarged before his eyes. When it brushed past him, he could feel an unpleasant hot air touching his skin, and the repugnant smell of evaporating sweat reaching his nose.

Having reached the 4th stage, even if just the 1st level, Ronold Wolf's strength had become over 4 times as great as it was before, while his speed had more than doubled. Although not to as great an extent, his reaction speed has also slightly increased.

Now, even if Seth is utilizing those martial skills he had previously revealed, he can only barely match this bandit chief in battle. Actually, that "barely match", would only apply to the speed of their movements. In terms of brute strength, Seth would rather not say it, but he cannot compare.

After Seth dodged the first punch, a second fist came at him.

Seth crossed his arms to block, but the punch felt heavier than a speeding truck. The sound of the impact was also worse than a car cras.h.!.+ The world before Seth's eyes blurred, as he was sent hurling into the buildings behind him!

Seth crashed through one stone wall after another, leaving a human-sized hole in each wall in the process.

In his complacence, Ronold Wolf was not able to hear the words that Seth had uttered as he broke through the walls. Those words were, "Blast him to kingdom come.".

Many sparks lit up. There were no fuses, but they followed a path as if there were. The sparks entered the marble sand barrels that had, without Ronold Wolf's noticing, extended out of the sandy walls that were once the stone walls of the surrounding buildings.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

30 flaming marble sand cannonb.a.l.l.s shot out of 30 marble sand cannons at the same time. Any single one of them is not even half as dense, nor half as strong, as the cannonball that was shot by the heavy black cannon that Ronold Wolf had brought forth to break through the city's western gate.

Neither would these marble sand cannonb.a.l.l.s be capable of flying even half as far. But tens of these marble sand cannons had shot at the back of Ronold Wolf at once! The quant.i.ty here, more than made up for the quality. Upon impact, the marble sand cannonb.a.l.l.s would break and explode, causing even further destruction!

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Agh!" The hoa.r.s.e screams of a man sounded out amid a series of tricolored explosions.

...

With both sides going all out at the center of the city, the western gate which had been the invasion point used by the bandits had been abandoned. Only the corpses of many hundreds of men were left there.

A number of soldiers carried a bunch of barrels up the western wall. They placed the barrels on their sides after bringing them to the ledge. Then, they stabbed their swords into the top of the barrels, and watched with solemn expressions, as the liquid within the barrels trickled down into the moat, adding to it a darker color...

...

Human conflicts are filled with destruction, mayhem, and suffering. The arrogant and willful ones disregard the feelings of the weak, and toy with them for their self-satisfaction.

The houses that the people have lived in for generations are being thrashed.

Incurable scars were left on the women and children.

Those victims whom were killed by the wicked will never come back to life.

With a back full of b.l.o.o.d.y depressions, showing even his bones, Ronold Wolf pursued Seth with a mad expression on his face.

His eyes are bloodshot, and he is gritting his teeth, grinding them against each other. He was enduring the pain of having his back practically sc.r.a.ped off of him. He had already taken some healing pills, and along with his 4th stage's ability of regeneration, his wounds are visibly recovering. However, because the wounds this time were too wide, and went too deep, they would take longer to recover, allowing him to experience a torture that he had only ever delivered onto others, but had never experienced himself.

Seth lied in a pile of rubble. There is dust and gravel all over him, and he is looking at the sky through a broken hole in the roof of the house that he had landed into. That hole wasn't one he had made by falling through it. It was caused by a chain of cracks when he broke through a wall. Lying there, looking up, he was wondering about how high the sky of this world really is.

Nala continued smas.h.i.+ng her long mermaid-like blue tail onto one bandit after another, turning them into b.l.o.o.d.y messes that young children should never look at. This spell that Seth had taught her, is one that takes a large amount of magic energy to activate, but requires very little to maintain. There isn't any danger of her running out of magic energy and becoming incapable of fighting any time soon.

Although most of the bandits that were attacking the citizens had changed their target to her due to the reward offered by their chief, there were still some bandits whom ignored the obviously dangerous her, and went after the helpless citizens instead. Nala could not do much more than to protect herself and the ones closest to her.

The soldiers of the city continue to fight their foes. They are all tired by now. None of them can tell what the outcome of this battle will be, but they know that this is the last stretch. Mustering every last bit of energy from their bodies, they strive to kill off these invaders.

This was not to say that there weren't any among them whom had fled. When their lord, Merab Zefer, was defeated, at least several soldiers had run off. But those that remained, were only the ones that are willing to fight to the death to protect the relatives, friends, and lovers, that they have in this city.

Within the last 5 days, including the citizens of the city, the soldiers, and the bandits, more than a few thousands have already died.

If it were possible to turn back time, perhaps there would have been a way to avoid this disaster. No, there definitely would have. For example, if Seth had not done anything when Nala was attacked by Fabin, leading to this entire chain of events, or if Seth had not caused the death of the envoy sent by Ronold Wolf and instead took their offer to join the Wolfing gang...

But to speak of such hypotheticals is pointless. Turning back time is impossible. Even the G.o.d of Time cannot do such a thing. Revival is impossible. Reincarnation is a lie. Heaven is a place reserved for angels, and h.e.l.l is a place for demons and devils. Anyone who could be revived, never really died.

The marble sand beneath his feet erupted, and Seth flew into the skies upon a newly made crescent moon. This miniature crescent moon is disintegrating into sparkling sand particles, showing how short a time it would last.

60 stakes made of marble sand formed around him in midair, and shot down at the house below like bullets fired from a machine gun!

WHIZ! WHIZ! WHIZ!

CRACK! BANG! BOOM!

The house crumbled apart. Debris fell, and a dust cloud made of marble sand arose.

A large b.l.o.o.d.y man jumped several tens of meters high up out of the dust. Tens of marble stakes were stabbed into his muscular shoulders, arms, chest, and thighs. He grabbed onto Seth's leg in midair, and tossed him at the ground as hard as he could!

Another loud SLAM echoed out, louder than any other noise made during this battle, and louder than even thunder. More debris was made, and more hearts were shaken. Everyone witnessing this battle, friend and foe, wants to know if Seth is still alive, one side hoping for him to live, and the other side hoping for him to die.

There are people who would say that lives are cheap. In some ways, they really are. The basic materials making up a flesh and blood body are commonly found, and are barely worth anything. A life is fragile, and there are countless ways to terminate it.

But because they cannot be brought back, these cheap lives are irreplaceable, making the sinners whom take them unforgivable!

What Seth truly wants, is a world with none of those sinners, with no one whom would hurt those fragile and innocent lives. If it is to build a world like that, if he is to be able to glimpse a world like that, then he would gladly forge a sea of blood!

After tossing Seth into the earth, Ronold Wolf was still floating in midair, waiting for gravity to take hold of him and bring him down.

But suddenly, he let out a grunt, and the muscles around his eyes twitched, as he felt something stab into his left leg. His bloodshot eyes looked down, and saw a large hook made out of marble sand, with many jagged edges at its end, stabbed through his calf. It went through his bone, and came out the other side. It was lodged in so tightly that it looked easier to cut off his own leg than to pull it out.

Just as he was about to forcibly removed it...

A voice whispered from within the shadows. "...Didn't anyone ever teach you? Don't go into midair if you cannot fly."

Before Ronold Wolf could even touch the hook, it pulled him upside-down and up through the air!

He went higher and higher, at an increasingly high speed. He felt his blood pressure rising like mad, as the seconds went by. The friction of the air against his body grew to the point that it made him have to struggle to even move.

By the time he had managed to wrench that hideous hook out, he had already been brought over 35 kilometers up into the air.

From this point, he can see, in its entirety, the city that he had brought his gang of bandits to attack. Compared to the rest of the world around it, it looks... so small and puny.

Then, he started to fall.

His eyes were buffeted by strong winds. Every time he opened them after a blink, he could see the city below him getting bigger and bigger. He was dragged straight into the sky, and is falling straight back down.

The winds felt cold, and he felt it getting harder and harder to breathe. Strangely enough, he felt his heart filled with both excitement and fear.

It took him seconds to go up, and seconds to go down.

Before he landed, he saw a desert forest full of sharp marble spikes, glittering under the sun...

At the end of his fall...

"Arrggghhhh!!!!" A loud roar of pain echoed out throughout all of Haradur city, and then, everything began to quiet down...
