Ryouta saw a poster of two people. He knew they were strong.
Keika sees what he is looking at and smiles saying "that is a match coming to the city over there for the Meijin t.i.tle the match will between Seiichi Tsukimitsu and the G.o.d of shogi himself. The one I told you about earlier. The G.o.d has made 4th dan at 15 and has been 90 t.i.tles matches won with a lifetime Meijin."
Royta looked at her confused and asked: "I don't get it but is that impressive?"
Keiko was shocked "Is it impressive? Is it impressive? Oh yeah, you never played. "she rubs her eyes and says "Men become a professional at 4th dan. But before you even think about that, you have to pa.s.s an examination to join the elite society. Members of the a.s.sociation must achieve fourth-rank status by the time they turn 26 by winning compet.i.tions among third-rank members.
Each year, only four members of the society, which currently has 170 males and one female, can turn professional.
amateurs wis.h.i.+ng to become professional must be accepted into the JSA's Apprentice School Apprentice professionals are initially ranked from 6-kyū to 3-dan based upon their results on the apprentice school entry exam or performance in certain amateur tournaments. Apprentices are guided through the system by their master a currently active professional who acts as their sponsor and teacher and are promoted or demoted in rank based upon performance."
Ryouta boldly claims "yup the G.o.d Souysama will be my master"
Keika frowns at Ryouta interruption
"*cough please continue"
She just shakes her head and says "Players who successfully move up the ranks to 3-dan partic.i.p.ate in the 3-dan League This league is held twice yearly and the two top finishers of each league are promoted to 4-dan, thus gaining professional status."
Ryouta begins to laugh and responds "So I just need to be a 4 dan to become a professional? Haha, easy! Then I'll challenge the G.o.d and become the best"
There were people glaring at Ryouta boasting but noticing he was a kid they just got annoyed at him hoping he'd leave.
Keika grabs Ryouta arm and pulled him away saying "Kise shh quiet". She took him away to the side and said"Kise-kun you can't declare that you will easily make it to professional. Some people have spent their lives and never make it..."
Ryouta realized his mistakes and feels bad but curiously asked Keika "are you a Pro?"
"..no I'm not I've been playing since I was 3 but I haven't made it yet. It's harder to make it as a female shogi player than a male but I won't give up. My father is a 9-dan shogi player. As his daughter, I will keep up the family tradition. " Keika said with a determined look
Ryouta feels his bragging might not be good. Then realizes"whats the 9-dan "
Keika laughs "well you were busy talking big you never let me finish telling you"
Ryouta just rubs the back of his head
Keika then tells him " To become a 5-dan you have to Win 100 official games,

Keika thought he was sad because it would be a long time if he could attempt to make it to the top. She thought he might not want to play but to her surprise Ryouta was excited
He looks at her and says "Thanks Keiknee-san I now know what I must do. I will go to the library and learn about the rules then on Sat.u.r.day after the tournament I will seek G.o.d and ask him if I could be his apprentice. "
"I'm glad I can help" She smiles, looking at the possible future Meijin but shakes her head
"Oh I should get going, but before I go can I have your number?" He took out his cell phone
Keika looked at his phone and was shocked "is this one of the new cellular phones?"
"umm yeah." Ryouta forgot the cell phone was still new and only the rich had it." you just put your number in like this" He showed her how to input her number
She looked at Ryouta thinking he's a rich boy" Ryouta what do your parents
Ryouta interrupted her "hey didn't you have a match"
Her face went blue and she just said bye and ran off. He shakes his head.
Ryouta ended up staying at his friend's place. He lived in the red light district. Nothing happened he just had to help out the buy me drink place. A couple of days later he receives a phone call he picks up and
"Ryouta get over here " his uncle shouted on the other side of the phone.
*click* "I don't think it was important" The phone rings again and he picks up
"Yes may I ask who is calling"
"...Ryo it's me your old man. the house is finished so come meet your new family"
"...sure" he hung up 'today is Thursday so Sat.u.r.day they will come to our town to have the match!'
Ryouta says goodbye to his friend Kai and his mom and runs home.
He sees the much bigger house and whistles. He rings the doorbell and a very short girl opens the door. She had light brown hair that curls at the tips and brown eyes. She was wearing a headband that has a dog footprint on and an ap.r.o.n. She seemed a really bubbly person
She smiles and says "you must be RyoutKun!" She gives him a hug
Ryouta remembers talking to the old man a while back
***flashback***
Ryouta looks at his old man and asks "So what's the type of woman you married ?"
The old man laughs and says "I've found her...The legal loli"
Ryouta was confused "Whats a legal loli"
The old man responded "A loli your allowed to f.u.c.k"
***flashback end***
"so you must be my new mom. your Kinue Hayase"
She smiles and says "you can just call me mom" She lets go and says "oh let's meet your new little brother and sister"
'new brother and sister? The old man never said anything like that...how can she have kids...'
Kinue looked at Ryouta and said, "Kuzuha and n.o.buyuki are registering the kids ." She calls them and three kids come out. Inari jumps up and hugs him saying "big brother guess what we have a new brother and sister. " She shows her the girl who is holding her s.h.i.+rt "this is Chinatsu Hayase. Shes is our little sister"
Ryouta looks at her and smiles "Hey Chinatsu I'm your big brother"
She looks at him and then her mother and Kinue smile and nodded saying go greet him so she did the same thing Inari did and hugged him. "I'm Chinatsu I'm 5 years old" Ryouta just thought in his head cute
then a fat boy was shocked as he saw Ryouta and Ryouta notices him too and smiled "I guess you're my little brother right I'm Ryouta Kise you can just call me big brother"
The fat boy looked at Ryouta pretending he didn't know him and he started to sweat..He thought his life was starting to change after meeting Aki but now..."I I am Masamune "
Ryouta looks at him and says "you know I'm starting to learn Sumo do you want to practice with me"
Masamune tried to refuse"I " but Ryouta didn't allow him to. and grab his arm.
"good lets go...mom I'm going to play with my new brother" Ryouta knew she wanted him to accept her

Ryouta looked shocked and hurt "what why would I hurt you. I was serious. You look like you would be good at sumo. Plus I need a training dummy"
"Did you say, dummy"
Ryouta just hit his head "oh I meant partner, partner now let's go to the garden and make an arena
Masamune was dead tired after that training. He never worked out before in his life.
-------------
It was the day of the Tournament and Souya won his match earning him the 91' st t.i.tle.
Ryouta waited outside in the hallway. He was walking out and Ryouta called to him
"Meijin I was wondering if I could be your apprentice."
but he ignored him and walked by him. Ryouta then went up to him and asked again but the same thing happened...
Ryouta then went in front of the G.o.d and asked him again "Meijin My name is Ryouta and I want to be your apprentice"
Souya took out a pen and signed his name on a paper and gave it to Ryouta. Ryouta just folded it and put it in his s.h.i.+rt but then realize that wasn't why he was here and shook his head "no no no that's not it. I want to be your apprentice"
He looks at him and pointed to his ears indicating he's deaf
Ryouta wrote down on a piece of paper asking him if he could become his apprentice and which Souya response
"only if you learn sign language in a week. If you do meet me here at the same time."

Akisame is seen reading Ryouta's book Kino's journey and sighs "the book is good"
////AN: I started getting too into shogi and played a few matches to understand the game. Its a bad habit of mine. I have been reading all these girl sports mangas and watching sports anime to better understand characters not sure why though.
