Down a broad hallway in Glory Trade Corporation, a woman's small figure leaned against the white clean walls, her head lowered.

Walking down the hallway with black long heels and dressed in dark long leather pants, was none other than Mimi.

Mimi's face remained unfeeling as she stared at Jinny's figure leaning against the wall, her complexion pale.

The small woman had her head lowered, light ginger strands of her pixie cut hair falling gently in front of her closed eyes.

Mimi had merely stared at Jinny for a few seconds before sneering.

"Getting tired of acting?"

Startled by the familiar sound of someone's voice, Jinny opens her glittering eyes abruptly, her head s.h.i.+fting up to stare at Mimi standing a few feet away from her.

"W...What?"

"Do you really enjoy being this way? Lying to your friends constantly?"

With quivering lips, Jinny rapidly shakes her head.

"That's not it! Stop saying that, I merely…"

"Oh? That's not it? Then I guess you and your friends really do deserve one another. Since all you all do is either lie to one another, criticize others or make fun of one another." Mimi coldly narrowed her eyes.

"Don't talk about them like that! Listen, you're young you don't understand anything!" Jinny snapped harshly, however realizing what she said, she covers her mouth abruptly.

"I'm sorry I…"

Just as Jinny was about to apologize, she stopped upon seeing the broad sinister grin on Mimi's face.

Her beaming smile had spread chills down her spine.

Why did it seem like she enjoyed her snapping at her?

Mimi, containing a pleasurable s.h.i.+ver from escaping slowly forms her grin into a sneer.

"Didn't that feel good to let it out?" Mimi said gently while placing her hand on her hip.

Now that Jinny thought about it, she found that when she snapped at Mimi, she felt as if a load had been removed from her shoulders.

In fact, Jinny found whenever she talked to Mimi she didn't have to conceal anything as she was already aware of everything entering her mind.

But, no matter what she couldn't. She couldn't change.

"Do you realize the things people are saying about you?" Jinny asked gently with a lowered head.

Realizing Jinny wasn't going to admit to her previous question Mimi frowned. With an irritated sigh, Mimi scratches her cheek.

"Should I? And even if I did, why should I care?" Mimi indifferently stared at Jinny.

"You should care! If they continue to say such things about you, won't that affect your reputation? Not to mention those involved like Mr. Sato or your brother. If you merely told everyone how you felt then…"

"Tsk."

Startled by Mimi's sharp tsk, Jinny looks up to see the young girl's previous indifferent att.i.tude was replaced with contempt.

Toward Jinny's words, Mimi had been too annoyed she couldn't hold back her apparent disdain.

"Were you not paying attention earlier or just suddenly lost your hearing when I spoke this morning?" Mimi coldly glared at the woman whose complexion began to pale even further.

"I don't care about reputation. And so what if others get involved? You think they would have made it so far if they so easily got affected by petty rumors?"

"If others want to criticize me so be it. But if they're going to the least they should do is try to be perfect themselves before spewing such bulls.h.i.+t. And what will telling all them about the truth do? No matter what I say they will try to twist it in their own words to possess another reason to despise me."

As Mimi spoke, she didn't hold back the disdain and coldness in her voice – she wanted this little woman to recognize exactly what she thought about their minor insults.

Why should she try to explain herself to people she didn't put in her eyes?

To others, it was irritating to deal with, however, to Mimi each harsh word she spoke was another word she could slap back in their faces.

All it took was to have patience and ignore.

Which to Mimi was easy.

After speaking to Jinny, Mimi took in a deep breath to calm her irritation.

Why did she become so annoyed whenever she was around this woman?

It was like she was talking to some sort of naive angel that refuted with everything she said and always tried to reason with her!

Once more revealing her unfeeling unsympathetic eyes, Mimi walks past Jinny, however not before saying a few words parting words…

"I'd rather have one thousand enemies admit they despise me than five friends who merely know how to secretly bring me down."

Afterward, Mimi walks away out of Jinny's sight. Left alone in the empty hallway, Jinny's eyes widen, her face drained of any color.

"Eli wait up!" A woman's gentle voice called out.

Startled to hear his name being called, Eli turns around, his glowing green eyes looking at the woman speed walking in his direction.

With a fl.u.s.tered expression and rosy cheeks, the woman looks up at the man to reveal her dark gems.

The woman calling Eli's name and standing in front of him was none other than Senior Su.

"Ms. Su, please call me Mr. Sato, remember we're at work." Eli flashed her an innocent smile.

Holding back a frown from instantly forming on her face, Senior Su bites her bottom lip, her dark eyes looking keenly at Eli with an unreadable emotion.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"About Mimi!" Senior Su suddenly raised her voice slightly.

Those nearby hearing Senior Su speak loudly, looked in their direction curiously.

Perceiving everyone's eyes, with a frustrated sigh, Eli gently grabs Senior Su's arm to bring her in a more private area.

Once he was certain no one was nearby he looked at the flushed woman's face who was currently staring at his grip on her arm.

Casually letting her go, Eli crosses his arms.

"Why would I need to tell you something like that?" He arched his brows confusingly.

"Because…" Senior Su began but stopped herself from finis.h.i.+ng.

Because you would always tell me everything...

Already guessing what Senior Su was going to say, Eli scratches the back of his head, looking around the corner to see if anyone was near.

"Listen, Meilin, that was back then when we were younger. Things are different now, there are certain things that I can and can't reveal to you."

Senior Su held back a saddened expression as she listened to Eli speak. Every word he spoke made her realize how much things had changed since they were children.

He subtly reminded her that all he seemed to see her as was a childhood friend and employee.

Not aware of the woman's thoughts, Eli continues. "And besides I would have thought you'd notice Mimi's skills by now. But I have to say…I was disappointed in you."

Hearing those few words had suddenly produced a crus.h.i.+ng feeling on the woman's heart, the blood in her face draining.

"What…" Senior Su mumbled hesitantly.

"Ms. Su, even if you didn't partake in insulting Mimi, don't think I'm not aware of you encouraging some of the employees. You out of everyone should know what baseless rumors can do to someone." Eli frowned with a look of evident displeasure on his face.

Widening her eyes, Senior Su looks away from Eli to harshly bite her bottom lip.

How did he know? Did he see it or did someone tell him?

Honestly, what had actually happened was, Tobias made Juno -his secretary, make a list of everyone who spoke badly of Mimi behind her back along who fanned the flames – one being Senior Su.

One day while Eli playfully wrapped his arm around Juno's shoulder, he happened to see the list of names in his hand – the top written with the words 'people who spoke ill of Ms. Mimi'.

Eli wanted to make fun of the list and the others names when suddenly he noticed a familiar name on the list.

Su Meilin. Moreover known as Senior Su.

Seeing that name Eli couldn't help be surprised but also a feeling of disappointed entering his heart.

"Eli listens to me. I didn't mean…" Senior Su began but was cut off by Eli.

"I don't want to hear your excuses. Merely know I don't want you to do it again, as someone with higher power in the company you need to be a better influence on the employees and shape them up when they've committed a mistake. Not encourage them."

Sighing, Eli looks at the watch on his wrist.

"I have to go," Eli said before walking away from Senior Su and down the hall.

Senior Su, uneasily watching his departing figure wanted to call out to him but found nothing escaped her mouth.

He was disappointed in her?

But why?

She worked so hard for him to be proud, did so much for him to notice and think well of her, and in the end, he was disappointed in her?

What went wrong?

Mimi. It was because of her.

If she hadn't pretended to not know anything then she wouldn't have encouraged their behavior!

If she hadn't shown up, then Eli wouldn't be disappointed in her and look at her with such eyes!

Clenching her hands into fists, Senior Su bites her bottom lip harshly, her head lowered.

Senior Su had her head down with her bangs secretly covering up the resentment in her deep eyes.
