"This isn't good Xing Chen, I must hurry to inform the patriarch!" exclaimed Elder Sim rus.h.i.+ng out of the library. Xing Chen ran out of the library, attempting to follow Elder Sim, but the elder had already vanished.
The 6 year old Xing Chen stood there in silence, tilting his head up, staring at the 3 bright moons that seemed to light up the entire Jade City for nearly half an hour. The fear within the depths of his heart increase at every beat he felt. Something dreadful was going to happen to Jade City.
"Xing Chen!" shouted a familiar voice nearby.
Turning his head to the direction of the voice, Xing Chen could see his father and mother running towards him, fear within their eyes. Not only that, it seemed like everyone had been woken up and began running around frenziedly. He had read all the books, including the ancient texts, yet he was in the dark of what the 3 moons s.h.i.+ning brightly in the night sky signified.
'It must be something that only the higher ups of our Xing Clan can only know,' thought Xing Chen.
"Son, we're leaving Jade City," informed Xing Yun picking the 6 year old Xing Chen up into his arms.
"Why father?" inquired Xing Chen innocently.
He truly wanted to know what was happening. He just turned 6, yet the darkest hours was already upon them. Even the novels he read, the story took a few chapters to build up a perilous setting. Then again, the arrogance of those transmigrated and reincarnated individuals family or enemies tend to cause most of it.
"Once we're safe, I'll explain it to y-"
**BOOM
Many large stones engulfed in flames had begun descending from the sky, obliterating everything in and outside of Jade City. However, it was unusual for meteors to strike in one specific spot. Anyone with a brain could tell that someone was specifically targeting Jade City, attempting to erase it from existence. At this rate, Jade City would be most likely be wiped off Lunar Continent if they didn't escape fast enough.
"Xing Hua, follow me," said Xing Yun fearfully.
Carrying Xing Chen, both Xing Yun and Xing Hua speedily ran to the main hall of their Xing Clan. Upon reaching there, they quickly entered and headed down the hall, zigzagging through different doors. Each door Xing Chen's parents went through were actually a secret code to getting into the secret chambers under the main hall. If an emergency that endanger the Xing's bloodline were to occur, the higher up must gather the members and lead them to the secret chamber.
It was of utmost important to keep their bloodline alive, even to the point if one person had to survive the whole ordeal.
Finally, after going through so many doors, the trio reach a dimly lit hallway and continued until they could see stairs descending into the earth. The descent lasted ten minutes, as they reached the secret chamber under the main hall. Xing Chen, still within his father's arms, stared at the humongous chamber as rows of ancient statues of various warriors lined up all the way to a giant and ancient looking gate.
His parents continued walking down the path, reaching the closed gate with a statue on each side, almost as if they were guarding it. The statue on the left appeared as an unknown beast, it's eyes perfectly painted like the starry night sky of the Lunar Continent. It was quite fearsome looking, almost as if it could tear and devour the entire galaxy.
s.h.i.+fting his eyes to the right, he looked at the warrior-like statue. It was covered with extremely powerful looking armor, equipped with a heavenly halberd. Although the warrior's face was hidden with a helmet, it's eyes were quite different than the unknown beast. The more he stared, the more he realized it's resemblance to his old world.
'Oh, what the actual f.u.c.k?' thought Xing Chen in surprise.
'Aren't those that d.a.m.n shut-eye goggle loser, All-Seeing Eyes? s.h.i.+t, this Xing Clan must be of an anime character's descent! Then again… anything can be possible too. I was reborn with a leveling system...'
"Father, what are those eyes?" questioned Xing Chen to affirm his hunch.
"Those are the All-Seeing Eyes… this warrior was once a powerful member of our Xing Clan during the ancient era. We have many secret books pertaining to those eyes, but most of the information has faded through the flow of time…" explained Xing Yun. He too, stared at the statue of the warrior in wonder.
"Does Xing Chen want to become like that warrior?"
"No! I want to be stronger than this warrior!" exclaimed Xing Chen in a childish manner. With his level up system, he could definitely become stronger than those from the ancient era.
"Hahaha! Good, good... My son will definitely surpa.s.s all within Lunar Continent!"
After ten minutes of chatting aimlessly, more members appeared, walking towards the closed gate Xing Chen's parents sat nearby. Soon, nearly a quarter of the clan's members reached the secret chamber, awaiting for an announcement from the patriarch or the elders that lead them.
Although this placed awed them, the situation they were in was dire.
Not long after, the final and last person entered the secret chamber. His robes and clothes were tattered, staggering along the path whilst limping. Everyone stared at this lonesome man, missing their left arm while their right arm gripped a broken spear, using it as support. Soon they recognized this limping man.
It was their patriarch!
