Just Mine 156 A Proud Mom

The next day Sky sat at the office with Dwayne, Anton, Chiamanda, and Bones as they went over some doc.u.ments. Sky pretended to be going through the doc.u.ments as she flipped through the pages. She looked at Chiamanda and Bones through her gla.s.ses, she noticed the way the both of them avoided each other...they wouldn't even look at each other. "Hmmmmm, I thought they were getting along well. Maybe I have to intervene." Sky thought to herself.

"This is good, the new malls are doing fine and everything is ok with the school in City L. I hope preparations is going well for our presentation...you know, our end of the year project that will blow everyone away? " Sky asked as she signed a doc.u.ment.

"Yes ma'am everything is going well." Dwayne answered her

"I've gone through their proposal for the Winery...it looks good and we already picked a few people who will be going over there. I'm sure in six months time, the company will be ok and by this time next year...they should be back on their feet." Anton took a sip from his bottle water as he handed the file to Sky.

"Thanks Anton. Chiamanda and Bones...I need you to go check the new site for our project. I need detailed information, pictures ...videos so I can send to our engineers and I also need you to stop at Palmera and pick something up for me."

"Ma'am I thought I was suppose to go with Mr Teffa?" Chiamanda said disappointed.

"I'm sorry love but my fiance is busy and as you all know he's getting ready for his trip and I don't want him to leave my side cause I'm gonna miss him when he leaves." Sky said smiling.

Dwayne almost choked on the water he was drinking as he heard Ms Sky.

"That reminds me Dwayne. I hope you don't have any plans tonight? cause I need you at home...pack a small bag cause you'll be spending the night." Anton said as he avoided Sky's eyes.

Sky looked at him surprised. Was he teasing her? why does he want Dwayne over? and besides the house is full now. She tried to talk to him with her eyes but he refused to look at her.

"Ms Sky. Concerning the press, I think it's time we hold that press conference. I mean you are getting big everyday and we don't want bad rumours spreading about you." Dwayne said as he looked at her swollen face.

"I don't think I need permission to get pregnant. I'm sure they must have seen my ring and they are aware we are engaged...so they can think anything they want. But I will address the press concerning our project....and if it comes up, I'll address it. Thanks lover".

Anton rolled his eyes at Sky. She was acting all cute as if they are a real couple. Well he's happy she's in a good mood this morning.

As everyone stood up to leave. Sky asked Chiamanda to wait behind.

"I thought you and Bones were doing ok...why do i sense tension between the two of you?"

"Errrrmmmm ma'am what do you mean?" Chiamanda stuttered.

"Please I know everything. I just want to know why you are not together now?"

Chiamanda looked at her boss surprised. Well since the cat was already out of the bag. She might as well go ahead and tell her everything. "I don't think he's over his ex ma'am. He was married, but she died in an accident. He blames himself for not protecting her, now he's scared I might get hurt cause of him."

"Yeah I know about his marriage to Lucinda. Bones almost went crazy after her death. That was when he left the army. Turns out one of his old friend betrayed him and Lucinda took the car he was suppose to take out. He didn't know she went out with the car until his friend told him he tempered with the brake. It's was already too late when he got there. It will take sometime dear but I'll talk to him. Please I need that file on welfare."

Chiamanda noticed the way her boss changed conversation easily. As if they weren't just talking about her personal life. "Yes ma'am, thank you. I'll get it right away."

After Chiamanda left, Sky phoned Jenna.

"Hey Jenna, how are you? I thought you were coming to the office today to brief me on what happened yesterday?"

" Are you not feeling too good or you are hungover? Just how many bottles did you take last night! Don't ask me to calm down, you shouldn't be drinking cause of you are on medication. Plus you shouldn't let your guard down around him. What! what do you mean he knew the mole was fake? I think we should stop this now Jenna...it's getting dangerous."

"What do you mean he's in your house? He slept in your place....did you have s.e.x with him? Oh I find that hard to believe Troy. Ok today is your last day...since you feel you've gotten close and you might get something today. I'll let it go, but if by tomorrow I don't get any thing solid. I'm pulling you out. Yes love, yeah please take care of yourself, yeah your niece is doing great."

Sky sighed after she ended the call. Turns out they both got drunk last night and Aidenn spent the night at her place. Jenna told her nothing happened except for a little smooching but she didn't believe her. Jenna had told her he was preparing breakfast for her. Well she just prays everything goes well.

Her phone message tone pulled her out of her thought. It was a message from Anton.

"I want to take Kira somewhere so we can talk. Dwayne will stay with you tonight, since we can't leave you alone. Bones will be close."

Why didn't Anton tell her in person....why was he texting her. Was he trying to get back at her for what she did with Kira? He could have asked anyone over but instead he asked Dwayne. She didn't want Dwayne uncomfortable.

Sky had dropped Kira at Brianna's house on her way to work. The two hit it off the first time they met, so she asked Bree to show Kira around. And take her to a Chinese restaurant in case she was missing home food.

The rest of the day went smoothly and when it was time to go home. Sky stopped at Mrs Hembadoom's restaurant to check on work there and to ask the woman a few questions.

Sky was disappointed after she left the woman's restaurant. She didn't get what she came for but instead the woman ended up confusing her more.

She called Dwayne to ask if he was home so they could pick him up and so they could go to work together tomorrow through the company's main entrance, so everyone can know they are really together and also see her baby b.u.mp. She was done hiding her sweetpea. It's time she tells the whole world she's going to be a mom. It's better if the news of her pregnancy comes from her first before other sources. She was gonna wear something s.e.xy tomorrow.
