Nine Tailed System 31 Haunted House

Marco and Alice were travelling at northwest, which made Alice curious, and asked.

Alice: Where are we going?

Marco: At the haunted house.

Alice flinched and started to glare him, but stood silent, Marco sighed, knowing it would be hard dealing with Alice's fear of ghosts… Which strangely didn't included Ghost Girls and other things.

[Later]

It was night and they reached the mansion, the atmosphere around them was getting creepy, the mansion was really old, entirely made of bricks and a wooden floor, almost every window was broken, and at its side there was a small graveyard.

Marco: Aaaand… Here we are!

Alice said nothing, she was wearing a calm face, but inside her she was slowly getting scared. Meanwhile, Marco, who was thinking about how to proceed, found a familiar figure at the window of the second floor that was spying on him.

It was a little girl with a skin similar to Alice, but darker, she had long black hair gathered in twintails which the end of the twintails were colored pink, she had pink eyes and a pair of big but short pink horns at the sides of her head.

She was wearing a black nurse hat with a white cross, a black short sleeved s.h.i.+rt which revealed her abdomen, and black short pants, she had black stockings with pink stripes and was carrying a grey bag around her shoulder.

She was Chrome, a failure as a succubus, and a necromancer, she could make some zombies here and there, even if in future she could use ghosts, she greatly helped during the 3rd chapter of the game, and she was the responsible of the rumors of the haunted house.

Marco: 'I don't think it will be a good decision destroying the place… Let's just go inside and see what happens…' Hey Alice, you want to come?

Alice: I won't!

She declared firmly, even if her tail was trembling from fear, and Marco sighed before saying.

Marco: Alright, I'll solve this s.h.i.+t then we will go at the forest…

Alice sighed in relief while Marco entered the haunted house alone. The insides were even more creepy than the outside, but it didn't affected much Marco since he knew that the chances of death were almost 0% with his powers and with the monsters' behavior.

There were a pair of stairs at the sides of the room, everything was made of wood and was incredibly dirty, almost falling apart, and suddenly, a monster appeared.

She had long black hair and a black dress, while her skin was pale white, she had 3 pairs of hands, 1 pair connected with her body while the other 2 pairs were floating around, she was a Ghost Girl.

She had a smug look on her face and said with a weak voice.

Ghost Girl: Human energy… I'll suck it all up…

Marco was careful, because Luka in the game was able to hit the Ghost Girl with his sword, but there is a possibility that his aura wouldn't work.

Marco: Tsk… 'I should do a test…'

Then Marco used the 1st Gate and attacked her, but his attack got to the other side of her body, leaving her undamaged, the Ghost Girl was grinning while Marco was in alert.

Ghost Girl: Hehe… You can't hurt me with this genre of attacks…

Marco: 'If fighting doesn't work… Let's try intimidation.' Give up… You will never touch me…

Ghost Girl: I don't think that's so…

Marco: And that's where you are wrong… If I wanted, I could easily destroy this place, I decided to hold back because I am here to investigate, not destruction. But remember…

Marco turned towards the Ghost Girl with wide eyes, showing his slitted pupil glowing crimson eyes.

The Ghost Girl yelped while floating away from him and trembling. Then she clicked her tongue and vanished, then Marco sighed in relief but didn't deactivated the 1st Gate, and started to inspect the room where he was.

There was nothing special so he climbed the stairs while crus.h.i.+ng a strange doll under his foot, the doll struggled a bit before glowing, it seems that the doll was a monster girl too, and then the glow disappeared, leaving an undamaged doll in the floor, Marco ignored it and continued to go forward.

Then, when he opened one of the doors upstairs, the thing that greeted him was…

Zombie Girl: Uuwooooooh….

Marco: ...A small fry…

The Zombie Girl had a small stature, her arms and legs were covered in blood, she was wearing only a t-s.h.i.+rt and lowered panties, she had long white hair and an empty gaze, when she looked at Marco, she slowly walked at him, but Marco sighed and pierced her stomach.

It was a bit harder than piercing normal humans, but it was easy anyways with his 1st Gate, then she glowed and something came out from her, after that, she fell down like a ragdoll, lifelessly, the thing that came out must be her soul.

Then he checked out the room, finding only the picture of who should be the daughter of the owner of the house, he checked in other rooms but there wasn't anything important, then he walked in the main room and looked around.

Marco: Should I smash… Or should I find another way? ...Why am I even thinking about it…

Marco raised his foot and stomped on the wooden floor, which started to crack before an hole appeared, and so he fell down.

When he reached the ground, instead of stopping his fall, he broke through the floor, falling even more deep, until he reached a floor made of stones, where he stopped and looked around.

It seems that he was inside a catacomb, and heard moanings everywhere, he observed carefully and noticed many glowing eyes in the darkness, soon he was able to see in the dark and found countless zombies surrounding him, and 2 stood out more than others.

It was a ma.s.sive zombie which had Chrome over her shoulder, the zombie is Frederika, the dead daughter of the owner of the house, her body was fused with many other corpses to form an abomination that is currently there.

Marco was careful and quickly activated the 2nd Gate, developing a second tail, even if the zombies are weak, number can still overpower him, and he wasn't sure about how many there were, but he didn't need to reach the 3rd Gate.

And then, the rampage started…

[5 minutes later]

Marco was walking towards Frederika and Chrome, he had a poker face, like nothing happened, but it was betrayed from the small mountain of corpses behind Marco, none of them were killed… Technically… Well, they were all sealed.

And now it was Chrome and Frederika's turn, Chrome was a bit afraid of Marco, but turned back confident when she remembered that she was with her best creation, and ordered her.

Chrome: Get him, Frede-!

*Crash*

Her order was stopped when Marco's tails suddenly crashed against Frederika, destroying half of her body.

Marco: These zombies are weak… Unlike any other monster in Sentora… So… Are we going to finish this?

Chrome didn't thought anymore about fighting with a freak like him, and immediately kowtowed.

Chrome: Wawa! I'm sorry! Please have mercy on this little one! I'll stop making zombies, just don't kill me!

Marco: …

He was speechless at the sudden change of behavior, he never had intentions of greatly hurting her, and she was talking about death. Well, with the scene he put up before it would be strange not being afraid of him.

Chrome then started banging her head in the stone floor while kowtowing and repeatedly saying 'I'm sorry!', Marco panicked a bit and put an hand over her shoulder to stop her.

Marco: Chill down, girl! I'm not here to kill you! Just stopping you doing this s.h.i.+t.

Chrome registered what he meant and sighed in relief while her front was bleeding a lot.

Marco: ...Hey… Shouldn't you cure that injury?

Chrome didn't want to stay there anymore and ran away, and Marco sighed in exasperation.

Marco: Alright, another thing is finished… Let's go to Alice and get the f.u.c.k away…

Then Marco deactivated the Gates and left the catacomb to group back with Alice, but was stopped from a cold presence behind him, he panicked and turned behind, finding something a bit unexpected.

It was the same lady he found in the picture in the room upstairs, Frederika's ghost.

Frederika: Thank you, traveler… Now my… No, our souls have been saved…

Then, other ghosts appeared and talked with grat.i.tude.

Ghosts: With our bodies turned into zombies, our souls were bound here… But now, we're finally free.../ Even if I'm just a soul, I can finally return… The homeland I've missed so much… San Ilia.../ Thank you, traveler… Thanks to you, we're finally free…

And finally, all of the ghosts ascended, even if Marco knew that Frederika would stay with Chrome, showing herself later.

Marco smiled at the scene and thought before leaving.

Marco: 'If Alice was here, she would faint while standing…'

And then, he left the house, meeting with Alice once again.
