Chapter 221

It was already dawn by the time Lobo and Ariana finished reading the letters . Lobo was right, all the letters had pieces of information . She wondered if her grandmother had written the letter the way she did so if it was ever intercepted they would let Ariana have it . However her mother gave her the whole stack in one go . Was it just in case the estate was broken in to and they found the letter? Ariana's head was spinning but one thing was for sure Cayden was missing . Did his family hand him over to the church when he lost his usefulness? But then why did her grandmother provoke his family?

"You should go to bed . " Lobo yawned as he stretched out his arms . "I don't even think I can . I'm scared to close my eyes now . " Ariana said pitifully . "You need to act like yourself for the next few days . I'm sure your mom gave these letters to you when no one was watching you closely or when someone specific was watching you . " Lobo said as he placed a fist against his lips, his brows furrowed and he slipped in to deep thought . Mumbling a few things every once in a while .

Advertis.e.m.e.nt"I can't think anymore . " Ariana whined as she slumped forward . "You should probably destroy all these letters . " Lobo said after he sorted out his thoughts . "Ariana?" Lobo called out . "Ariana?" He called out after a moment of silence . He turned his gaze to Ariana and let a out a small sigh . Ariana had fallen asleep on the bench . Lobo quietly collected the letters and envelopes as she slept . "You're the familiar from before . " Lobo said when he saw Duko curled up under the bench . Duko looked up at Lobo and nodded his head . "Can you take her back to her bed?" Lobo asked but to his surprise Duko shook his head no .

"Why not?" Lobo asked as he stared at Duko . Of course he knew that he would never hear his voice and the ginger root babies only gave him mumbled words . He had to go off of his feelings because mother ginger was still mad at him for disturbing her day off . Lobo stood up and scratched the back of his head, debating what to do . When suddenly he felt a icy glare drilling a hole into his body . He turned and saw a pink stag walking slowly towards them . Duko held his hands up in defense but realized he made a mistake . He still hand the letters in his hands .  

"It's not what you think! I wanted to ask her to destroy these letters . It's dangerous to keep them . " Lobo said in a panic . Vasu snorted hot air into Lobo's face the moment he was close enough . Then Vasu laid down and waited . Lobo looked at the stag then Ariana . "Oh . Only you can carry her?" Lobo asked in surprise . Vasu nodded his head . Lobo picked up Ariana and placed her gently onto Vasu's back . Duko crawled out from under the bench and turned into his giant wolf form .

Vasu left first and Duko followed closely behind, making sure that Ariana didn't slip off of his back as she slept . Lobo watched as they slowly disappeared . After a moment he looked at the letters . He nodded his head and turned to walk away . He said he was going to protect her and he would . Even if it meant hurting her .

Ariana woke up and felt stiff all over . She stretched her back and felt completely drained . The entire time she was asleep she dreamt about Owen dying along side her, then of her adoptive family being hara.s.sed with jewel b.a.l.l.s, accessories and pieces of clothing . Then finally of Cayden being chained up somewhere with one eye missing, bleeding out as he cursed her . She looked around and was dumbstruck . She was actually sleeping outside the dorm building with Vasu acting as her pillow and Duko as her blanket . "I'm so sorry!" She shouted in a panic as she tried to get up .  

'No we are sorry . We couldn't get you to your bed . ' Duko said as he quickly changed back into his chibi form . "Don't be! You guys are awesome for keeping me safe and warm but . . . . What time is it?" Ariana asked as she looked up at the sky . 'Early . ' Vasu said as he turned back into his chibi form . "Like go back to bed early?" Ariana asked with a shaky smile . 'Probably?' They both answered . "Good enough for me . " Ariana said as she walked around the building and went through the front entrance .  

Girls were already up and chatting away . "Nope . " Ariana groaned as she dragged herself up stairs . When she entered the room a pillow crashed into her face . "Where did you go?" Edlyn said with puffed out cheeks . She looked like an enraged chipmunk . "Morning . " Ariana replied after the pillow fell from her face . "You look awful!" Halina shouted bluntly . "Thank you . " Ariana said sarcastically as she dragged herself to bed . "So where did you go?" Talisha asked . "Walk, I went and took Duko out for a walk then fell asleep outside . " Ariana said loudly after she face planted into her pillow .  

"What about your letters?" Halina asked . "The letters!" Ariana yelled as she shot up from the bed . Ariana looked around the room then checked her hoodie pouch . "Gone . " Ariana groaned as she fell back onto her pillow . "Is that okay? Weren't you excited to read them?" Talisha asked as she finished getting ready . "Ya, I read and walked . I must have lost my letters . " Ariana explained as she started to look for the edge of her blanket . When she found it and wrapped it around her body then rolled . "You okay?" Edlyn asked with some concern . "S-l-e-e-p . " Ariana moaned as she closed her eyes .  

"Let's go . We should do what we need to do . " Edlyn said as she got off her bed and picked up her pillow . "If we're successful will need to wake her up to prepare the picnic . " Talisha pointed out . "Let her sleep for now . We can worry about that later . " Halina said as she got off her bed .
