Lobo walked over to the sink and spat out the blood and saliva mixture that built up in his mouth. He then turned on the tap and rinsed out his mouth. "I can't marry Cayden now. What am I going to do? I don't want to hide anything more from him but I don't think I'm brave enough to tell him." Ariana cried pitifully. "Pascal?" Mrs. Dabney shouted from the master bedroom. "Coming!" Mr. Dabney shouted back as he ran towards the bedroom, relieved to escape the awkwardness that Lobo and Ariana created.
"What are you talking about?" Lobo asked in frustration. "You are not my mate!" Ariana stopped crying and looked at Lobo with disbelief. Tears still spilled out and ran over her cheeks as she quietly waited for an explanation. "It is a ritual that my clan does. For generations my clan has served and protected the Royals regardless of our feelings." Lobo said as he hissed the last part through clenched teeth.
"Your feelings?" Ariana asked. "Well my family is not to thrilled serving a fake King but we stick to our duties and responsibilities." Lobo said as he turned and faced Ariana. "I took a huge gamble today. I didn't think you were lying but I didn't have any proof that you were who you said you were." Lobo said as he started to pull off his s.h.i.+rt. Ariana screamed and covered her eyes. "No look." Lobo said as he pried Ariana's hands from her face and grabbed her chin. "You are Shevar Guronui daughter. If it was a lie I would have been killed on the spot but look I received the crest over my heart. You gave me honour by allowing me to become your soldier." Lobo said happily. "I can face my face with pride!"
Ariana opened her eyes and saw the same red magic circle that was originally on the ground now on Lobo's chiseled chest. "Did it hurt?" Ariana asked as she slightly blushed and averted her gaze. "No." Lobo replied with a giant grin then let go of her chin. "I can't tell you how happy I am." He said as she pulled Ariana into an embrace. "Thank you." He said as he exhaled. "Let her go." A deep threatening voice called out from behind them. Ariana tried to turn around but was held in place by Lobo.
"Are you forcing yourself on her?!" Mrs. Dabney said in a deadly tone as she gave Lobo a murderous glare. Lobo broke out into a cold sweat and instantly raised his hands in to the air. "No ma'am!" Lobo barked awkwardly. Ariana let out a sigh of relief and turned around to see the Dabneys. Mr. Dabney had carried his wife into the kitchen however he looked like he was the one under duress rather then Ariana.
"Why did you force yourself on Ariana? I will warn you, answer carefully or you're not leaving here with everything in place." Mrs. Dabney said as she shot Lobo an icy glare. Lobo's whole body s.h.i.+vered from Mrs. Dabney's glare. "I didn't! I just needed her saliva to do the ritual!" Lobo shouted in his defense. "Why not ask her?" Mrs. Dabney asked as she narrowed her gaze. "If I did she would have refused." Lobo said in a quiet voice. "No sh*t!" Mrs. Dabney yelled before she started to scold Lobo about s.e.xual harra.s.sment, consent and human decency.
Mr. Dabney sat his wife down in a chair while Lobo kneeled in front of her. Hanging his head in shame. "Hungry?" Mr. Dabney asked Ariana as he rolled up his sleeves. "Are you going to cook?" Ariana asked reluctantly. "She's in no condition to cook and probably won't stop talking for the next hour." Mr. Dabney said as he nodded towards his wife. "Let me help. I tried you food last time... It was so bland, it smelled so good but it was so tasteless." Ariana said with obvious disgust.
"So what do you suggest we make?" Mr. Dabney asked as he hung his head in shame. He felt bad, his wife ate the food with no complaint but noticed she didn't eat as fast as she usually did. In fact it took Mrs. Dabney a full hour to eat her meal but he didn't piece the clues together. "A nice soup, ummm, yes a hearty vegetable soup should do but what do you have for meat?" Ariana mumbled to herself as she walked around a sniveling Lobo and opened the freezer. "No meat.... What's in the fridge?" Ariana muttered as she closed the freezer and opened the fridge. "Pascal what's this?" Ariana asked as she pulled out a long, tightly wrapped package.
"I bought it when I went to buy the fish, there is also ribs, bacon, cold cuts and chicken." Mr. Dabney said as he listed everything on his fingers. "Where are the vegetables?" Ariana asked as she moved the meat out of the fridge. "I used it all up." Mr. Dabney said with a scrunched up face. "Oh my G*d you only bought meat!" Ariana said as she slightly hit her forehead on the freezer door. "I thought she would need more meat then vegetables. Especially if I was cooking." Mr. Dabney said shamelessly.
"Ok, go out find a barrel load of vegetables. Different ones I don't care which ones you get but we need lots. I'm gonna make some ox tail soup." Ariana said as she started to move some slabs of meat in to the freezer. "Ox tail soup?!" Mrs. Dabney shouted as she turned her head to Ariana. Her mouth was watering as she stared. "You like ox tail soup?" Ariana asked as she looked over to Mrs. Dabney. "Love it!" Mrs. Dabney replied.
