Chapter 203

"Very sure . The first time I changed was on my 13th birthday, New Year's day . " Ariana said firmly . "You were the one that terrorized Stella Amora two years ago?!" Mrs . Dabney exclaimed . "I didn't terrorize anyone . I ran in to Lord Romanoff and he tried to kill some children . So I did what I was told and stayed perfectly still . Just my luck though, I didn't know my own strength at the time and slaughter some bad people who attacked me first . That's all . " Ariana said with an indifferent shrug .

"Okay this is salvageable!" Mr . Dabney shouted as his eyes started to spin from the overload of information . "I wanna see it!" Mrs . Dabney shouted excitedly as she stared at Ariana with sparkling eyes . Ariana looked back at Mrs . Dabney debating whether it was a good idea or not to continue sharing . "My other form? Sorry can't on my own . " Ariana said apologetically . "What?! No! That can wait! I want to see your hair straight!" Mrs . Dabney stated as her eyes magnified . In the end Mrs . Dabney's eyes won .

"Aroha . " Ariana called out with a small sigh . 'Yes . ' Aroha replied . "Can you dampen my hair enough to make it straight?" Ariana asked . With swift movements Aroha flew through the air and around Ariana . 'Done . ' Aroha announced before she went back to the pillow . Ariana felt her hair cling to her back uncomfortably . "Thanks . " Ariana said in a low and unimpressed voice .

"Wow . . . You look wet . " Mr . Dabney announced after he processed everything . "Ya . . . Can you not get your wind and fire familiars to work together to dry your hair? You know, makes.h.i.+ft a hair blow dryer?" Mrs . Dabney asked . "I think they can . Davita, Rahul . " Ariana called out . "Oh there's a brush on the vanity, just grab it and use it . " Mrs . Dabney instructed . Ariana did what she was told and ten minutes later her hair was straight and silky . "Holy mother of Creation, you look like your mom but you can see your dad too . " Mrs . Dabney said . "A lot, like your father . " Mr . Dabney joined in .

"You met my parents?" Ariana asked in surprise . "Sorry, I only know your father, I am two years older then him and acted as his mentor . " Mr . Dabney said with an apologetic face . "I've seen both from a far . I was in my third year when your mom came to the Academy . Your father was in his last year and rather . . . . Unsociable . Actually he was known for his cold att.i.tude . " Mrs . Dabney said . "Then you met my adoptive mother too . " Ariana asked enthusiastically . "The two of them where glued at the hip . Then one day she never came back . "

"My adoptive mother told me about that . She feels bad that she didn't stay with my mother but things happened and they lost touch . She was so happy when she found me that she decided to adopt me almost right away . " Ariana explained but the Dabneys were confused . They could see and sense so much love and affection when Ariana spoke of her adoptive mother but almost nothing for her biological mother .

"Do you want to hear some stories about your parents . I only have a few but at least it's something . " Mrs . Dabney said awkwardly but Ariana responded with a melancholy smile . "I don't think so . "

Mrs . Dabney was dumbstruck, she had a.s.sumed most orphaned children would love to hear tales of their parents but Ariana was uninterested . "I think . . . I should go back to the dorms now . I promise to visit it again . " Ariana said as she took a few steps back . "Wait . You're still coming to stay with us when you change right? When should we expect you? I can get Pascal to put up some enchanted barriers for your safety and we can prepare some other things if you want . " Mrs . Dabney said as she slightly blushed . She hoped she wasn't acting to out of line but her excitement was hard to mask .

"Thank you for the offer but my guardian is suppose to house to me for that time . . . If he isn't a complete d*chebag I will consider your offer . " Ariana said before she turned around .  

"We really should get going now . " Ariana said as she walked towards the door . Aroha and Loralei got off the bed and started to float towards Ariana . "You should fix your hair before you go out!" Mr . Dabney shouted as he chased after Ariana . "Aroha . " Ariana said with a heavy sigh . "But this time don't make it so wet please . Just enough moister to bring the waves back . " Ariana said as Loralei turned into light and went back into the earring . While Vasu a.s.sumed his favourite spot .

Aroha quickly created a mist and Ariana's hair tuned back to normal . She then stayed out and perched herself on Ariana's shoulder . 'I still owe you and explanation . ' Aroha said nonchalantly . "Be careful on your way back . " Mr . Dabney said as he watched Ariana leave the bungalow . "Thank you I will . " Ariana called back .  

"So are you going to talk as we walk or should I find a place to sit?" Ariana asked as she walked down the path . 'Best to find a place to sit . I would a.s.sume you have questions as I talk about my past?' Aroha asked dryly . "You know you don't have to talk about yourself if you don't want too . I'm not making you nor will I force you too . Just take your time, I trust that you will open up to me one day . " Ariana said with another sigh .

Aroha had used every means to avoid her and Ariana got her message loud and clear . She was not liked, Arhoa was only on one mission and nothing else mattered . So why force her to do anymore then just to tolerate Ariana's existence .

'Ha! Like your fan club would let me off the hook . ' Aroha sneered as she looked down at Vasu . While Vasu gave her an innocent stare . "Well it doesn't matter now, it looks like someone is looking for me . " Ariana said with mixed feelings of regret and relief . The Lumas looked up and Aroha quickly turned into a stream of blue light before she went inside the sapphire earring . Vasu stayed out and glared at the person who caught sight of them .
