How dare this woman claim Clovis as her husband. What right did this woman have to threaten the future Feya had so carefully made for herself. Clovis and that child had never been much of a threat till now. On top of that she and her mother in law were being insulted all on her account. That stupid grin made her want to slap the woman across the face, cause or not.
As her hand raised and swung toward Kyera's cheek, open palmed a smack was heard. In a fraction of a second, a hand deflected the blow, as Kyera's hand landed a rather nice slap to Feya's cheek. In a bit of amused surprise Kyera looked at the hand that deflected Feya's blow and followed it up to murderous blue eyes. The fury in Clovis's face was unmistakably filled with anger and fire.
"Feya, don't you dare lay a hand on my wife. You have no right, you filthy witch." Clovis growled, that primalness coming out in him again. Kyera leaned back slightly, resting her weight against his chest.
"Love, calm down. She isn't worth your anger." Kyera tried to seem innocently sweet and endearing as she looked up at him. Clovis slid his arm around her waist, and supported her body. He met her eyes and sighed kissing her forehead deliberately.
"That's ritch, isn't worth his anger? Oh dear, it seems you don't know anything at all. Clovis, you married a little forest vine and walked out with her, but. She doesn't know your secrets how… interesting." Queen Kira purred with a bit of a smirk. Clovis flinched and Kyera looked up at him feeling that change.
"My lady queen, perhaps its best…. Oh wait. I misspoke. I should be calling you Empress shouldn't I? Oh wait, Your emperor is only a figurehead, and the lady Empress Dowager had to remove him… why was that exactly? It couldn't be that the Empress Mother of the Forest Gate Empire t.i.tle was empty, could it?" Kyera asked batting her eyelashes in a mock innocents just to rub it in. The Queen turned a icey glare on Kyera and stepped toward her only for Alexi to block her path.
"That is enough. I believe you have insulted me and my wife enough with your vulgar acts of aggression. Fourth Princess Kyera and Fourth Prince Clovis are our guests. I will not see you show more disrespect, First Queen Kira. Enough." Alexi's normally easy going voice was like a sword coming down to server the conversation. He was done listening to it and if it kept up he really didn't want his wife to end up killing Feya or the first Queen. Blood was hard to get out of her hair.
"Alexi, when did you lose your manners and forget your place. I warned you marrying a wild blood would ruin your sensibilities." Queen Kira warned him, her disapproval grave in her voice.
"If I may interject?" A guard asked and Kira turned on the man and growled.
"SILENCE, I WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED BY A MERE SOLDIER." She roared her lady like disposition beginning to crumble a bit. Kyera raised an eyebrow and looked back toward the house. Raina was not a heavy sleeper and she didn't really want her to see this mess.
"Kyera, we should get you inside. Your chilly. Let them be huffy out here on their own. I see no reason to entertain them." Lalia sighed and turned, leading Kyera inside without waiting for a response. To be honest, Clovis had realized she was chilly as well. He was grateful for Lalia taking control and ending this squabble.
"You are making enemies of the next Empress…" Queen Kira pointed out with a wicked smile. "You will pay when he ascends the throne."
Kyera smiled and stopped, those around her looked at her. She glanced over her shoulder at Kira. "Two verses one… I don't like your odds, Feya. Win or lose, you decide the future of this kingdom, war or peace." With that veiled promise, Kyera continued to follow Lalia inside.
