"Well, Wifey it seems there is a simple choice. Teach me to see through the shadows." Clovis suggested wrapping his arms around her, holding her close while they spoke.
"We have less than twenty four hours. I can't teach you to see through illusion that fast." Kyera replied shaking her head slowly. "Most knights can't see through a shadow illusion on earth more or less in their realm. The few who do spend years training. Verone was around me when we were little so it was second nature… even he is easily tricked by my illusions."
Clovis nodded realizing she had a point, this wasn't simple or everyone would know how. Then he got an idea. "Be my eyes."
"What do you mean?" Kyera asked meeting his eyes a bit wary. She had a feeling she knew where this was going, but she couldn't have been more wrong.
"Go with me. Surely your Grandmother would support us going together so I can meet my Father in law." Clovis pointed out as he let her go. The garden was getting a bit more crowded and he knew she wasn't the most comfortable person with public affection. However to his surprise, she only s.h.i.+fted so her head was on his shoulder.
"We can suggest it. Perhaps suggest a frost wedding at the festival, a tie in the world of my people. With your father in control of our first marriage doc.u.ment it might be best that isn't the only record of our union." Kyera pointed out, slowly forming a plan.
"You mean a actual wedding, no political c.r.a.p or wedding crashers?" he asked with a chuckle. "Is that possible?"
"Point. However it is much harder to crash our weddings. There isn't a guest list or a sit down ceremony. It would consist of signing a marriage doc.u.ment with royal witnesses then perform the ritual before my people. A dance, nothing more." Kyera explained chuckling as she remembered all the words and bowing they had done during their actual wedding. Clovis looked curious.
"A dance ritual?" he asked honestly intrigued by this concept.
"Yes, one of the bride's family plays the tune, while the bride and groom dance together to symbolize their hearts dance to the beat of the same drum." Kyera explained the custom without much trouble. In all honesty she had always loved the simple elegance of their ceremonies.
"Then let's do it." Clovis agreed as Kyera finally slid off his lap.
"Well then, my mate, let us go speak with Grandest Mother." Kyera replied smiling at him. There was true excitement in her eyes, so much prettier than when he first asked for her hand. There was pure joy and impatience in her as she took his hand.
"Well won't there need to be some private dance lessons?" he teased and Kyera chuckled at him. Merriment dancing in her bright eyes.
"You have a lot to learn about our culture. Our rituals are about what comes naturally, not planning and memorization. Come on." she tugged impatiently at his hand. Clovis grinned ear to ear and followed his eager wife back into the main hall to seek the Matriarch.
