"Princess, may I be blunt?" Oslo asked with a bit of a cautious look on his face. She nodded still quite a bit nervous as he smiled at her. He had to expect this from her, being as she had always been open to their opinions thus far. " Princess, do you think this is what is best for our clan? Coming out in the open like this?" Oslo asked keeping his voice as level as he could. His concern was mirrored on several of the faces near him. Kyera smiled, having known this question ws coming long before it did.
"Oslo, I am not asking you or anyone else to reveal yourselves to the general public. I'm not even asking you to reveal yourself to the entire royal family. I am asking you to trust me and trust the Fourth Prince. I know that is a lot to ask, and I know it isn't the easiest thing after everything that has happened. We have to have a ally, and I think Clovis is our only hope." Kyera stated her case with a simple elegance that they had come to expect. She stood tall looking from each considerate face to the next. All six were contemplating the words but at the same time, their leader chuckled.
"Clovis knows I'm a s.h.i.+fter. As is the Tigress of the Empress Dowager. He has never turned either of us in. If there was anyone in the royal family that I thought we could trust, it would be Fourth Prince Clovis." Lazren offered without being prompted. He had settled onto a rock near by, lounging on it in a rather relaxed and wolfish way. The group glanced at him and seemed to take that in too.
"Then I see no reason not to trust you both, I'll be more than happy to go along." Oslo agreed straightening his vest a bit.
"I see no reason why not." The Fox guard called Fare agreed with a bit of a cheeky smirk. THere were general murmurs of agreement after that as everyone decided to follow Kyera's Judgement. She couldn't suppress a sigh of relief.
"Honestly, I can't say how glad I am you have all decided to place your faith in me and our future. If I thought there was a safer way, I would have chosen it. Your best interest is my heart." Kyera pointed out and there was a knowing smile from the six infront of her. They had no intention of causing trouble.
"We will meet you at the CourtYard of the Dancing Wind Palace." Oslo a.s.sured her before leaving with the others. Kyera nodded, smiling softly as she leaned against a nearby tree.
"That went well." Lazren commented watching her, noticing the stress and worry in her eyes.
"Yes… but that's only six people and you, Friend. None of them were hard to convince either. My greatest challenge lies ahead." Kyera warned staring at the trees beyond, her eyes trailing up to glance at the sun's position in the sky. She would have to return soon and meet with Clovis. She would have to introduce the three going with them.
"I know it may feel that way Kyera but in all honesty I think they will listen to you. Your people know you want what is best for them. You always have." Lazren reminded her with a chuckle as the pair headed back toward the city.
"That… that isn't quite true. There are some who have questioned my loyalty since the day my mother made her choice." Kyera replied. Lazren looked at her a bit confused, his eyes traced her face and looked deep into her eyes. He saw traces of shame and conflict.
"Your Mother?" He asked patiently. Kyera took a deep breath and ran a hand through her long silken hair. The silver strands slid through her pale fingers as her eyes delved deep into her memories.
