Chapter 15
This was probably the heart of poor parents.
After Chen father knew the gender of Rong Yi, his att.i.tude towards him became much warmer. Rong Yi tried to interrupt with several attempts to return to his room, but all failed.
His boxed lunch was almost cold, but Rong Yi had to sit on the sofa and listen to the uncle praising his son. It really reminded him of the big-headed son.
“Yao Yao, this man, don't look at him. He may look fierce, and might not talk much, but actually, his temper is very good. [你看他从小学的那些拳打脚踢的东西,但从来不主动和人打架,很乖的。加上能赚钱人也大方,绝对是很疼老婆的类型。] Trust me, I'm his father, I know him best.”
So you didn't know he was gonna throw up on an Omega?
Rong Yi forcibly held a smile for politeness. “Ah, so it's like this.”
“And, he really likes children,” Chen said, shaking his head. “But what's the point of teaching other families children? Isn't it just a matter of getting married? Don't you think so? "
Rong Yi tried to touch the corner of his mouth. “Oh.”
“You eat together and live together, the feelings should be very good, right?” Chen father looked at him with antic.i.p.ation. “Xiao Yi…do you have a partner?”
“I…” Rong Yi just wanted to be honest, but after thinking about it, he realised that it would only cause him endless trouble to do so. In order to let the poor father give up any unrealistic fantasies as soon as possible, he swallowed his spittle and nodded. “I have one.”
Chen father's brow furrowed slightly.
“If you have a partner, why are you still living with an Alpha?”
[咋地,你还要指责我不守O道啊。]
[戎逸一不做二不休,从陈柯尧身上就地取材]: “To tell you the truth, my partner is also an Omega. So he's particularly rea.s.sured that I live with an Alpha.”
When this was said by someone like Rong Yi, it was simply too convincing.
Chen father was shocked. "So…you and Yao Yao…just…"
“Uncle, if there is nothing else, I'll go back to the room first.” Rong Yi stood up. “Have you had any dinner? Would you like me to help you with something?”
Chen's brow was tightly knit. "I'll go back right away."
After saying that, he immediately stood up and walked towards the door. He took two steps before looking back. “Don't tell Yao Yao that I was here today, okay?”
Rong Yi glanced at the camera in the corner of the living room. “…oh.”
When Chen father arrived at the door, Rong Yi heard him murmur a few words. "You young people, ah. Not very good, this is really not very good."
Rong Yi licked his mouth.
This was a good father and son. Not only did they look similar, but they were the exact same when they opened their mouths.
After Chen's departure, Rong Yi first ate the boxed lunch, and then searched the living room for the first-aid kit. After opening it, he wasn't sure whether he should laugh or cry.
Chen Keyao had not only put in the cotton swabs and iodine that had been used yesterday, but even the pads were thrown into the kit by him. Was he going to save this for the next injury to continue to replace gauze?
After helping him sort out the first-aid kit, Rong Yi couldn't help but clean up the cabinet where the kit resided.
The cupboard was a mess. Opening the door, Rong Yi could see a group of plastic bags tied together, and a wrench. He suspected that the toolbox Chen Keyao had mentioned earlier had long since had its contents scattered in every corner of the house.
After finis.h.i.+ng his shower, he went back to his room and read a novel in bed. It wasn't long before he heard the sound of someone opening the door.
Calculating the time, it was around the time that Teacher Chen would return home from a cla.s.s.
But because he had just experienced an accident last night, Rong Yi was a little scared. He crept up to the door and opened a slit to look outside.
As a result, Chen Keyao, who had just walked in with a large pad on his face, looked at him.
For a moment, both of them were quite embarra.s.sed.
“…you're back,” said Rong Yi.
After that, he didn't wait for Chen Keyao to speak and slammed the door closed.
After about half an hour, Chen Keyao knocked on his door.
“Are you asleep?” he asked, “is it convenient for me to come in now and say something?”
Rong Yi immediately jumped out of bed and organised his clothes before saying, “Oh.”
Chen Keyao came in with his own stool.
“My dad was here earlier?” As soon as he sat down, he went straight to the point. “What did he say to you?”
“Speak freely,” said Rong Yi, “is this what you're asking?”
“No, I just saw it just now, so I mentioned it,” Chen Keyao said, “whatever he says, don't take it seriously.”
“Oh,” Rong Yi looked at him again. “Then is there something else?”
“That… about last night, don't take my help for granted,” Chen Keyao said, “in fact, in that situation, you fighting others bare-handed was not very rational.”
“…”
How did this seem familiar? As if this was exactly what the police had said to Chen Keyao last night.
“If you encounter something like this, you should just sleep. It won't be too late to call the police once he's gone,” Chen Keyao said, “I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I hadn't woken up and heard him.”
Suddenly, Rong Yi felt a little shy.
His eyes floated around and he lowered his head. “Oh, I'll pay attention next time.”
Chen Keyao seemed to have been affected by Rong Yi's att.i.tude change and also become stiff. [他支支吾吾又说了些注意安全之类的话后,终于还是出口成贱。]
“If someone was killed here, it would be difficult for me to rent out the room.”
“…” Rong Yi's face went cold.
“So don't do it again.” Chen Keyao scratched his head. “And, uh…”
Rong Yi was not angry¹. “What?”
“Are you a little irresponsible?” Chen Keyao asked, “yesterday you agreed to help me change my gauze.”
“…”
Chen Keyao's wound seemed to have recovered quite well.
He had bought some medical gauze which made dressing up the wound more convenient. After he had finished dressing the wound, he saw Chen Keyao open a drawer and throw the remaining gauze into it.
Rong Yi felt that this person was simply challenging his bottom line.
He rushed to retrieve the gauze, then dragged Chen Keyao to the cabinet and pointed at the medicine box. “Do you seen this?”
Chen Keyao looked at the box, then looked Rong Yi's face. He then made a gentle “tsk” sound.
But seeing Rong Yi's frown, he was very understanding and put the gauze into the kit.
“How about this?” he said.
A slap to the head was needed to complete the task².
No wonder his students liked him so much. Bear children would of course like bear adults.
After a few days of peace and harmony, Rong Yi ushered in the first weekend of him moving into Chen Keyao's house
However, his short two-day holiday was full of arrangements, and he was temporarily unavailable to invite Zhou Li over as a guest.
The first thing on Rong Yi's list was moving in the rest of his luggage. When Rong Yi first moved in, he had only brought a small amount of clothing. [戎逸当初随身只带了少量衣物,这周末尾外套都穿重了,让他在心理上十分难以接受。]
He was now in a serious financial crisis and was reluctant to ask movers to carry over only a few suitcases worth of stuff. He planned to go into battle personally.
After he had dragged his suitcase home for the second time, Chen Keyao had just gotten up. Seeing Rong Yi's sighing face and his luggage at the door, Chen Keyao furrowed his brows. “You want to move?”
“Do you really want me to go?” Rong Yi dragged his luggage into his room.
Chen Keyao followed behind him, watching him pile his clothes onto the bed. He uttered a gentle “wow”.
“You moved all this by yourself. Why didn't you find a friend to help?”
“…I thought it would be easy.” Rong Yi was helpless.
“Are you done moving yet?”
“No.” Rong Yi shook his head. “I might have to do another run.”
“Why didn't you find me?” Chen Keyao had a very incomprehensible look. “I could've driven you.”
Rong Yi blinked twice. “…Did you get your car fixed?”
Chen Keyao looked at his face and suddenly smiled. “Thanks to you.”
“Your foot is a little strong, Chen Keyao said, “more practice would be promising.”
Not listening to the praise, Rong Yi kept his head up, not daring to look him in the eyes and not daring to say anything.
With a helper and a means of transportation, the rest of his arrangements were completed at once. After returning home, Rong Yi hesitated, again and again, wondering if he should take the initiative to find Chen Keyao.
“Repairing the door… How much did it cost?”
“It was expensive,” Chen Keyao said, “you can't afford it.”
“…”
“Are you going to pay compensation for your house tomorrow?” asked Chen Keyao.
Chen Keyao smiled. “I'm only teasing; the insurance company has already paid me.”
“…”
“I want to eat pork rib soup for dinner.” Chen Keyao said.
In fact, Rong Yi really couldn't afford to pay.
Especially as the next day, Rong Yi met with the intermediary to decide on a specific amount of compensation. He felt that he would soon be unable to pay Chen Keyao's rent.
In fact, his former landlady was really good. [虽然事发当时怒不可遏,但如今冷静下来,见他一个年轻人孤苦伶仃在外地某生活也不容易] He had given a good impression for many years, so in the end, the final figures were full of human feelings and were quite humane.
Unfortunately, it was still not enough to empty the entire deposit.
His spending habits were not so good, [距离月光一步之遥。] Not much was earned, but more was spent.
Worried about returning home, he hesitated and didn't tell Chen Keyao about it.
During this period of time, he found out that Chen Keyao was even more arrogant than him. Before, Liu Yuan had said that this person was not lacking money, and was only renting out the room to block his father.
If Rong Yi really asked for an extension on the rent payment, this person would probably agree.
But this was the most difficult thing to do. Rong Yi had already received so much favour but still wanted more. With the awkward relations.h.i.+p between the two of them, it was rather inappropriate.
But money, this thing, wouldn't fall from the sky by itself.
So how the h.e.l.l would he get through this?
The author has something to say:
Father Chen: You don't have to hide it. I know that Xiao Yi who lives with you is an Omega.
Yao Yao: Dad, don't talk nonsense to others!
Father Chen: And he is a h.o.m.os.e.xual
Yao Yao: …
Yao Yao: What?
[T/N: h.e.l.lo I hope ur day is v good!
‘not angry' it's difficult to explain but in chinese it is 没好气. I think the best way to explain would be like a no good feeling or nature. I think this is a chinese phrase which means ‘It was a bit of a nuisance to get the job done' in english.(●♡∀♡) a big thank you to Miccie for becoming one of my patrons!!!
I'm sorry for the late update, but I was v dumb and accidently deleted this entire chapter which I had already completed :((
