Even though there was a mask between them, Bai Tan felt the beast masked man looked at him as if he was a joke. Anger rose up within him and he instantly leaped up from the water and landed back on the small island off to the side. He fished the konghou into his arms and used "Zhu Tian Hua Mo Zhang" to attack the person. He had already grasped the idea on how to use the attack properly, and its power was even higher than the time he'd used it inside of the Loulan Palace. The wave of sound from the instrument charged at the other fiercely, like great waves, but it was stopped by just one swing from the other's knife.

It was just a light swing, its power was neither too little nor too much.

Bai Tan didn't continue trying in the difficult situation, his hand stilled on the instrument's strings.

The beast masked man's postures of knife swinging were indescribably elegant and gorgeous. It was as if he wasn't holding a ferocious, blood-thirsty weapon in his hand, but instead, it was a calligraphy brush. The moonlight was its ink, while the lake water acted as paper, that allowed him to make a piece of art, however, he wished.

There was actually a second person in this world who could use this kind of "San Fan Po?"

Could it be…could it be…?

No, there was no way!

He had killed that person with his own hands, and annihilated his corporeal remains with his own hands, how could that person still be alive in this world?!

Bai Tan stared at the person intensely, his fingers pressed down on the strings, then curved into a claw shape as an idea popped into his head. His wrist exposed, a pale joint turned, and he softened, his hand plucked the fourteen strings lightly as if his hand flitted across the water surface. His red sleeve floated as it rippled, creating layers of wavelets. In his other hand, two of his fingers pinched together, as if they held onto an invisible flower stem, spreading open on the side of his cheek. Exposing the back of his hand that was pure white, his lips parted softly and released a sweet voice, that had a hidden bitterness within it, while reciting to a beat.

"Slowly I moved about, my heart intoxicated. Those who knew me said I was sad at heart; those who did not know me, said I was seeking for something…"

The Art of Moyin Shepo was used stunningly by him, as it expressed the story extremely well. The poem of《Shu Li》[1] was recited in such a way, it seemed as if he was both crying and tale-telling at once.

What he sought from this action, was to see that person's face behind the mask and to be rid of his own worry and fear.

Otherwise, in the days to come, there would've been no way he could've slept in peace.

Seeing the person put away his hook as expected and walk over the water, Bai Tan changed the tempo of his hand playing between fast and slow. The string sounds created deep emotions, as his recital created the sense of binding someone down tightly. Each sound was able to enter one's bone and suck out their essence, his extremely gorgeous, phoenix-like eyes seduced the man who walked closer and closer. He then reached his hand out towards the other's face, he, himself, transformed completely into a fox demon, full of affection.

Wu Yanfu had put his hands behind him and didn't move on purpose, with drooping eyes, he just enjoyed the sight of the youth's seductive look. He waited until the tip of the other's finger slowly touched his mask, then his own fingers acted as quick as lighting, he used "Cui Hua Zhe Zhi Shou" to seal his points and laughed inside.

Little fox, using Arts of Enchantment on your s.h.i.+zun? The one who will be losing from it, is you.

Bai Tan immediately froze in place and couldn't move an inch, that person used s.h.i.+yue to push aside the hand that hung in mid-air and turned to go behind him. His hand wrapped around his waist and embraced him, then he held tightly onto the hand that was placed on the strings. The man's hand was carefully all covered up by a cloth and because it was wet, his five fingers appeared extra cold, as they dug in between the gap of his fingers. He then directed his hand across the strings to air-play it, as if he was teaching him some kind of skill.

His eyes could still roll around, but he couldn't move anything below his neck, his eyes went from looking at the beast mask only a few inches away, to the konghou held in his embrace. Seeing the person really was teaching him some kind of fingering skills, he observed it carefully, fully focused. (TN: FUFU OML I HAVE A GUTTER MIND)

Obviously though, naturally Wu Yanfu wouldn't be so kind. As one of his hands taught him how to play, his other hand slid down from his nape. He unhurriedly grabbed onto one end of the belt on his wedding robe, and then pulled on it, slowly.

Bai Tan instantly panicked, but all he could do was watch as that hand pulled out all of his robe's belt. It covered his eyes and was tied behind his head.

Then, music came out from the konghou strings. At first, it was like the moonlight stirring water[2] and dreams falling, as flower petals flew, then it was like the wing spreading of a swan goose, an ichthyosaur[3] leaping within the water. There was an indescribable gorgeousness about it and with emotions that secretly shook underneath, it was the song of "A Moonlit Night on the Spring River" [4].

Because of that song's heaven-like sound, even on this lonely island, with the huge lake and the dark, windy night, the sight was still a beautiful one. It was an eye-catching sight, if it had also been accompanied by the candlelight of the bridal chamber, a pair of red candles and an unforgettable night would've suited the occasion perfectly.

Wu Yanfu played in greater excitement as it went on and hatched a plan inside, since the little one just happened to be wearing a wedding robe, he might as well marry him today, that would be good.

The root of Bai Tan's ear flushed red from hearing the music, and his heart was all over the place. Suddenly, something slid down from his shoulder, it was the beast mask.

In the next moment, Bai Tan's earlobe was held by a pair of thin lips. The other kept Bai Tan's earlobe between his teeth and gently nibbled on it however he wished.

His drenched wedding robe slipped off his shoulders and Wu Yanfu's eyes drooped, as a dark look filled them, his finger followed the path of the youth's back and landed on his looming red, alluring bone spot. His finger poked at it with the intention of just trying it out.

"Mn!" Bai Tan whimpered softly.

The teeny tiny bone joint started to wiggle around, just as Wu Yanfu had seen it do the last time, its red became even more charming.

Wu Yanfu's brow jumped and a great wave of emotion rose up from deep inside of him, even his breathing became a bit faster.

Too bad, the little one didn't even know who he was. If he just took him like this, truly, it would be sad.

Mixed emotions of fear and panic almost broke through Bai Tan's chest, but his body couldn't move and only his long lashes quivered intensely. He was like a bird who had fallen into the water and was flapping their wings desperately for its life, tears built up within his eyes in an instant.

Who…who is this person?

His brain buzzed as if there were thousands of wasp in it, all of them were concentrated on that single question.

But he couldn't release a single sound, nor could he see the expression of the person behind him, he just felt a large hand, pressed onto his shoulder and his chest was pushed onto the konghou. His black hair was brushed to one side, flowing down to the ground. Bai Tan's eyes widened and his tears fell like the beads on a bracelet with its string broken, rolling over the fourteen konghou strings and onto the skirt of his wedding robe. They fell into the roiling dust and disappeared upon touching it. The slim and powerful hand held a golden needle and pierced it into the youth's pale white skin, then he let it swarm across his skin as if he was making art. Lines of red appeared where the needle tip touched and after his finger had gone through a whole circle, it was done in a short amount of time.

When a gorgeous epiphyllum had bloomed on the snow-like skin, the youth's back was already sweating bullets from fear as tears covered his face. His sweat mixed in with the blood and it slid down his back, drenching the thin clothing down there. It appeared like a virgin experiencing their first night, full of red down there.

Wu Yanfu gazed at the epiphyllum tattoo he had drawn on the other with his own hands, then it seemed as if spring breezes had pa.s.sed by his face as the corner of his lips moved slightly. He turned the head of the youth within his embrace and as expected, he saw a face that wished for death because of the shame. His eyes were shut tight, the roots of his ears were so red, it was stunning. The robe belt that covered his eyes was already drenched as strands of his hair stuck to the side of his cheek, he looked extremely pitiful just then. Where did he resemble the seductive fox from earlier anymore?

He was obviously, a little kitty cat that was bullied.

Wu Yanfu laughed without sound and tidied the youth's robe up for him, then turned him around to embrace him. He grabbed a hold of his chin and smoothed his thumb over the other's red, quivering lips. He lowered his head and bent down to lick away a tear at the corner of his mouth that hadn't dried up yet.

Heh, it was only this small of a lecture and he was already this frightened, how is he supposed to face him in the future?

Tan'er, once your s.h.i.+zun peels off this disguise, how would you keep yourself steady?

Feeling the corner of his mouth being gently pa.s.sed by the tip of a tongue, in that instant, Bai Tan smelled a familiar fragrance.

A type of sweet, medicine-blood smell.

Was it just his imagination? That smell…

He gulped out of thirst, and his mouth was as dry as a desert, feeling like there were hundreds of claws that scratched at his heart.

Wu Yanfu's eyes darkened and he reached out a hand to press and unlock Bai Tan's points. Not waiting for the other to return to his senses, he quickly flew over the water's surface and hid in the dark forest.

Bai Tan supported himself and removed the belt robe on his face in one go, then looked around with two red eyes. Realizing that the other had already disappeared, without a single trace left to be seen, his fingers tightened and grabbed onto the strings of the konghou harshly, breaking them. The sound of the strings rung out like claps of thunder, the energies within it exploded out and created an enormous circle of waves around him, then the water fell like raindrops.

He wiped away the traces of tears left on his face and tore off a corner of his robe, turning his head to look at his back.

Once the vivid tattoo of the blooming epiphyllum entered his sight, he instantly started to tremble.

That person knew the origin of his name[5].

Except for the old demon…

No, there was no way! There was no way that old demon was still alive in this world!

Not to mention, he'd removed the blood relic from the other's corpse, with no false acts at all, even if that old demon was still alive in this world, he wouldn't have the fear of facing him with his real appearance, and there was no way that person would be so kind as to teach him moves!

That person wouldn't let him remove his mask, could it be he'd seen him before and was afraid of being recognized?

Bai Tan rubbed the corner of his mouth, only to feel that a slight bit of the sweet, medicine-blood taste from earlier still lingered there and wouldn't disappear.

Could it be him?

Bai Tan furrowed his brows and recalled the yao ren's actions when they were in the ruins, his heart jumped with a thump.

Could that yao ren be more than what meets the eye? But how does he know the move of his sect and even trained to such a high level?

If he had such strong martial skills, how could he not have noticed it at all?

The effect of Huo Xin Curse was obviously still there too…

Bai Tan's thoughts became messier and messier, then he heard noises from not too far away and quickly tidied up his clothes. He cautiously looked towards the source of the sound and saw the outline of a s.h.i.+p appear within the thick mist above the lake.

He backed off one step and lowered his body, then dragged the unconscious Fu Lin from the side, to behind a rock. He stared at the s.h.i.+p with squinted eyes, the s.h.i.+p wasn't small, and there were five to six figures standing at the bow of the s.h.i.+p, one of them help a torch.

He feared Fu Lu and his people had come here and in this situation, Bai Tan wanted to escape first, but unexpectedly, he suddenly heard two familiar voices in the distance. It seemed like they called "sect leader," they sounded just like Ji Du and Li Wuzhang.

Bai Tan was overjoyed and once the s.h.i.+p approached the sh.o.r.e, he grabbed Fu Lin and jumped aboard the s.h.i.+p. The few people on the s.h.i.+p were surprised and Li Wuzhang was more delighted than he, himself, had expected. He walked over and looked him up and down, seeing him in a wedding robe, water-drenched all over, with red blush still left on his face, the happiness he'd immediately felt disappeared and what was left, were bits of suspicions.

"Sect leader, how are you here?"

Instead of answering, Bai Tan replied with a question, "How did you guys find me*?"

"Earlier, a person had their eagle messenger send this over," As he spoke, Li Wuzhang took an item out from his sleeve and put it in his palm. "The person also used the eagle messenger to guide us all the way here."

Bai Tan glanced over and saw the item within his hand was the earring Si You had s.n.a.t.c.hed away from him, he couldn't help but be shocked. He immediately took it and started to scrutinize it, he knew then it was the beast masked man who'd led them here, without a doubt.

"Sect leader, this person is?" Gui Yu'er looked at the youngster lying on the ground and surprise filled her face, she squatted down, "Is this the son of Fu Lu, Fu Lin?"

Once those words were out, Mi Lansheng's face couldn't help but change slightly, "Don't let him wake up, once he does, he will definitely lure that gu ren over. Gu ren are good in the water, and to meet him before entering the Zanglongdao, will be extremely bad news."

Bai Tan chuckled coldly, "It's fine, I've* already locked his death point. Even if he wakes up, he will just act like a living-dead and won't be able to do anything. Guards, lock him up and watch him, with extra security."

As he finished, he walked straight towards the s.h.i.+p's cabin. When he arrived in front of the cabin he'd slept in before, he pushed the door slowly open.

The yao ren was inside the bathing tub with closed eyes, hearing the noise, he opened his eyes and looked towards him.

Xiao's Comments: Wu Yanfu is definitely a s.a.d.i.s.t. He likes to tease and make Bai Tan cry and as horrible as that sounds, I'm loving it~

Translator's Notes:

T/N: Well, there was no spankings this time, though there was that.

PR/N: I almost got excited, the suspense is killllling me.

[1] 《Shu Li》- 《黍离》This is an actual, existing poem along with the lines up above. Full translation:

[2] Moonlight stirring water – 月华逐水, the stirring water part (逐水) is actually specifically referred to "hydragogue method"

[3] Ichthyosaur – 鱼龙, these are large, extinct marine reptiles. Literally translates to "fish / dragon" which makes me think it could be some mythical creature as well, but I wasn't able to find any information.

[4] 《A Moonlit Night on the Spring River》- 《春江花月夜》,

[5] 'Origin of his name' – epiphyllum flower is the flower that has Bai Tan's character in it (昙花)
