Little Cutie, Come Here (9)

Wei Xiaoqin clutched her chest with hand her, her other hand gripping tightly to the hem of Su Yin's s.h.i.+rt. She hid behind Su Yin, sobbing softly with her head lowered. Hearing what the leader said, she immediately lifted her head in shock. Her face white, she cried out anxiously, "Susu, Susu, you can't abandon me… I'm scared."

Su Yin felt Wei Xiaoqin's body trembling, her voice full of fear. She turned to look at Wei Xiaoqin's wide, tear-filled eyes staring fixedly at her. Her face had turned colorless in her feat, her quivering lips covered in blood.

Seeing Wei Xiaoqin like this, Su Yin, who was originally hesitant and afraid, immediately made up her mind. She raised her arms to protect Wei Xiaoqin. She rea.s.sured, "Xiaoqin, don't worry, I definitely won't abandon you and leave by myself. If we leave, we'll leave together, because we're friends!"

"Wow, how touching. I gave you chance, so don't accuse me of being rude. Both of you stay behind then." The leader laughed mockingly. She crossed her arms, looking at the two of them in disdain.

Su Yin turned to look at the leader, taking a few deep breaths. When she had calmed down, she calmly said, "Senior sister, this is the school. Fighting isn't some kind of petty matter here at Yizhong. Cla.s.s is going to end soon, and the teacher and the sports council members are going to put all the equipment back here. If you aren't careful and you stir up trouble, it's not good for any of us."

The leader frowned, exchanging a look with the girls next to her. She touched her chin thoughtfully.

Su Yin paused, then continued, "And my friend was born with a heart disease. She can't take too much shock. If you end up toying with someone's life, it'll be even more difficult to deal with. In fact, senior sister, you could even be accused of intentional homicide and go to jail for tens of years. Isn't that really not worth it?"

The leader frowned harder. She glanced at Wei Xiaoqin, half disbelieving, then turned to look at the girl on her side with short hair, raising her eyebrow.

The girl with short hair bit her lip, nodding minutely.

The leader's brow furrowed even deeper. She gave the two of them a measuring glance. After a long time, she finally spoke, sounding resentful. "It's not like I can't let you guys go, but she has to promise me not to pester Jiang Hui ever again…"

Su Yin nodded joyfully. "Of course, senior sister, Xiaoqin won't bother Jiang Hui anymore." As she spoke, she nudged Wei Xiaoqin with her elbow lightly. "Right, Xiaoqin?"

Wei Xiaoqin lowered her head silently. Large drops of tears slid down her cheeks, dripping to the ground. She raised her head, sniffing quietly, looking at the bullies and swallowing. She hesitated, then resolutely said, "No. Even if you beat me death, I won't give up on Jiang Hui." She paused, biting her lip, then coldly and clearly said, "I absolutely won't give up on him!"

Su Yin's smile froze on her face. She didn't know how to react. She looked at Wei Xiaoqin, unable to believe it. Helplessness rose up in her heart.

So she liked Jiang Hui this much, so much that she wouldn't even think of Su Yin's life? The other party had already prepared to let them go. Why did she… why did she have to say that? Wasn't she bringing about her own downfall? Was Su Yin wrong?

Seeing Su Yin's hopeless expression, Wei Xiaoqin panicked. She hurriedly pulled Su Yin's hands, crying, "Susu, I—I… I'm sorry, but I really like Jiang Hui, I can't… I can't not have him."

Su Yin's heart turned cold. She pulled her hand away from Wei Xiaoqin's, opening her mouth but not knowing what to say.

"Great! You're really too good!" The leader of the girls began to clap, glaring at the two of them. The corner of her lip curled up. "Since you won't drink the toast we offered, I'll force a forfeit down your throat. Take good care of them. Girls, go!"

The girls surrounded Su Yin and Wei Xiaoqin, pressing closer and closer. Su Yin unconsciously took stepped backwards, right until her back was against a tree trunk and she couldn't move anymore.

Seeing the girl's hand raised high, Su Yin closed her eyes unconsciously, her hands tightening into fists. She gritted her teeth, her legs trembling in antic.i.p.ation.

"You're d.a.m.n noisy, quickly get lost before I get angry."

Just as the girl was about to bring her fist down, a lazy but controlling voice came aggressively down from the tree.

When she unexpectedly heard the strangely familiar, Su Yin widened her eyes joyfully, looking up the tree. On a high branch, a teenager laid lazily on his arms. The light s.h.i.+ned on him, speckled through the leaves, giving him a gentle but heroic glow. He s.h.i.+ned so brightly that Su Yin's eyes filled with sparkling tears.

Xie Fei. Su Yin's heart softly cried out.

The gang of girls lifted their heads to look at the person in the tree. The leader frowned unhappily. She asked coldly, "Who's up there trying to play a ghost?"

"You're not worthy to know. I'll give you three seconds to leave, or take responsibility for the consequences."

The leader looked around, smiling disdainfully. "Oh, just one boy playing the hero saving the maiden? Laoniang will properly teach you a lesson. If you bother with trivial matters, you're looking to pay the price!"

"Time's up." The teenager in the tree leisurely sat up, stretching. He clapped one hand against the tree trunk, then jumped gracefully down the tree. He stuck both hands in his pockets, the corner of his lips raising. He lowered his eyes to stare coldly at everyone.

Xie Fei!

It was actually Xie Fei!

The group of girls were immediately scared silly. One after the other, they subconsciously began to step back, quivering from head to toe. The leader's legs softened, and she nearly fell over. She held her breath, cowering at Xie Fei, her entire face pale as a ghost. She swallowed her saliva before she spoke, her voice shaking. "Fei… Fei-ge, I didn't know— I didn't know it was you. I have eyes, but I couldn't recognize Mount Tai1. I beg you to let us go."

"Yeah, yeah, Fei-ge, we didn't know those two were under your protection. Even if you gave us a hundred guts, we wouldn't dare to touch your people."

"Fei-ge, you're magnanimous and forgiving. Why don't you let us go? We were wrong."

"…"Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

"I gave you a chance, but you didn't want it." Xie Fei shrugged, untying the jacket wrapped around his waist and throwing it to Su Yin. He wound up his fists. "It just so happens that I haven't exercised in a while. I'll use you to practice."

As he spoke, Xie Fei took a step forward. His right leg lifted and ruthlessly stamped on the leader's chest, so fast that n.o.body could react. The girl was knocked off balance by his kick and fell hard to the ground with a crash, leaving a long drag mark.

The girl clutched her chest, choking on air. She tried to support herself into a sitting position, but instead felt as though her entire body wasn't her own. It was like her bones had fallen apart. A slight movement would cause stabbing pain. The pores throughout her body quivered, a layer of cold sweat appearing on her forehead. She fell weakly back to the ground, furrowing her brow to endure the fishy taste coming up her throat.

The rest of the girls were given a terrible shock. There were even three or four girls who were so scared they couldn't stop their tears from overflowing. The two people farthest away returned to their senses first, turning to run away. Xie Fei's cold eyes flicked towards them. He grabbed the collar of the girl next to him and swung, throwing her right into their backs. In the next moment, the three of them fell to the ground, shouting in pain.

Xie Fei dusted off his hounds, turning back. The others fell to their knees, scared silly, not moving an inch.

Hearing the wailing around her, the leader's heart filled with ice. A s.h.i.+ver rose from her feet to her scalp, each of her pores feeling like they had been frozen solid. Her body felt as cold as an ice house. A blunt pain throbbed at her chest, just like an axe was chipping away at it constantly. It hurt so much that each time she took a breath, her chest would burn in tandem.

Xie Fei strolled in front of the leader, looking down at her pained and distorted face. He said coldly, "I don't care who you beat. It has nothing to do with me. But my people, you can't even touch them." He glanced at Su Yin, standing under the shade with his jacket hugged in her arms. Icily, he continued, "Whoever touches them dies. Got it?"

The leader followed his line of vision to SU Yin. She nodded her head nervously. She coughed, "I… I know. I… I don't dare to…"

Xie Fei nodded. "Get lost."Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

As soon as he finished, the rest of the uninjured girls pulled the four people on the ground to their feet, scrambling to escape. They flew away, not looking back once.

Under the shade, Su Yin and Wei Xiaoqin looked with wide eyes. It was her first time seeing Xie Fei fight. Indeed, seeing it yourself was much more shocking.

Xie Fei came before Su Yin in just two steps. Because he had just exercised intensely, his forehead was coated with a sheen of sweat. His beautiful eyes glittered under the sun. Su Yin's heart couldn't resist beginning to beat fiercely. The hands holding his jacket tightened, his faint, familiar scent slowly wafting towards her.

"Good girl, don't be scared. I'm here," Xie Fei said quietly, lifting his hand to pat her head. He lowered his gaze to look at the small, delicate girl before him. Remembering her scared but steadfast expression from earlier, a hint of laughter appeared in his eyes.

Su Yin withstood his touch, her face red. She began to smile as well, sweetly agreeing, "En." As she spoke, the hands hidden in Xie Fei's jacket tightened. She hesitated, then quietly said, "Thank you, Xie Fei."

Xie Fei always appeared before her when she was most helpless, helping her keep out the wind and rain.

"You're thanking me like this, without any sincerity?" Xie Fei laughed, raising an eyebrow.

Su Yin fell into a daze. After a long time, she still didn't know what she could give him. She bit her lip, disappointed. "Then, what do you want?"

"Don't they say that when a guy wins a fight for a girl, he gets a kiss?" Xie Fei's lips curved up.

"Huh?" Su Yin raised her head to look at Xie Fei in confusion, meeting his cool, half-smiling eyes. Her face flushed. She turned her head away, leaving him with only the view of her ender pink earlobes. "But… we aren't even a couple."

Xie Fei gazed at her flushed little face, thinking of her almond-shaped eyes that were as clear as two sparkling springs of water, beautiful enough to mesmerize anyone. His heart quivered. He covered the back of her head, pulling her into his chest. He lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, taking advantage of her daze, and took her hand in his, leading her towards the cla.s.sroom. "Let's go, little girlfriend.”

T/N: No author's note today bc there's no excerpt P: But a very very big thank you to Akisley for sending me a Ko-Fi ❤ Also I just thought this was funny, I was on the NovelUpdates page for this novel and I clicked someone's recommendation page and literally all the novels were ones that I was currently following lmao.

1↩: "to not recognize Mount Tai" is to not recognize a famous person. If you read webnovels, you've probably come across this often. Basically, leader girl is saying she made a mistake, not realizing what kind of power Xie Fei had, as her excuse.
