I got a question asking if I was going to translate chapter 1-7, and my answer is no. As I've mentioned it in another post, the are hardly any differences between the LN version and WN version at the start. Chapter 1-7 is pretty much the equivalent to the already translated chapters that have already been done by Medium Well. Link is here.
Without further ado, here ya go. I'll work on Cheat Mes.h.i.+ after this chapter.
MHDL 10
Days went by as the two leisurely spent their time practicing the sword and taking breaks. They would chat until late at night and fall asleep cuddled together without realizing it.
Suddenly Garius opened his eyes and was overwhelmed by a cloudless night filled with a sea of stars, it was a breathtaking moment that blew away his drowsiness. And for a while, he continued to watch the glittering lights in the sky.
In the corner of his eyes blinked a bright light. It was not the same fleeting brilliance of the stars, but a radiance that tore through the dark sky similar to the moonlight.
At the same time, Garius who felt a presence quickly gripped the Sylphide dagger laying nearby and took a stance.
The source of the light was from the heart of the pond.
Garius gulped in awe as his eyes were taken away leaving him unable to even blink.
What entered his vision was a beautiful women floating atop the water. More accurately, she stood atop the water surface. Like maidens from fairy tales, her hair was a glistening golden blond and wore the same colored one piece that could only be described as divine. Her innocent appearance waltz on the pond on her toes, spreading ripples with every contact. It were as if a G.o.ddess had descended. (TN: HAMON OVERDRIVE!)
"It looks like I've been found out" Lady
The soft gentle voice did not resonate through the air, but resounded directly in his head. Furthermore she was around fifty meters away. Even if there were no other noise obstructions, it was impossible to hear a voice so clearly.
"Who are you…" Garius
Garius who suddenly became slightly paralyzed just barely squeezed out his question, but it was enough to reach his opponent.
"Who am I you ask… I'm rather lost as to if I should reveal anything to you. I am but a storyteller who watches over you from a "hole" so to speak."
The lady gleefully smiled at Garius
"This meeting is a blunder from my lack of cautiousness. Please forget this… would be a rather impossible request. For the time being, please gloss over this."
"What are you saying? Do you not have something to do with us?" Garius
"On the contrary it's nothing of importance. And also, I am visible only to you. At least in this current era." Lady
"If you have no business, then why are you here now?" Garius
If Garius hadn't forcefully moved his body, he would have known that just the act of speaking would not cause him any pain. But regardless, he made an effort to ready the special effects of Sylphide Dagger as precaution.
Garius did not let his guard down. Even if his opponent was a frail looking women, he was not such a fool to judge by appearance alone. In addition, this woman was using some sort of strange spell to restrict his movement.
The women tilted her upward. As if a signal, Garius followed along and rolled his eyes up while keeping tabs on the women.
A full moon was now hanging in the sky.
"Invited…By the moon" Lady
The women once again faced Garius.
Bewitched by her ever so slightly thin smile, Garius rebukes himself.
"However, us meeting like this must hold some sort of meaning. Excusing this as 'a guidance from fate' would be a rather ingenious way to cover up my mistake I suppose." Lady
"……" Garius
"Fufu, speechless aren't you? Well it can't be helped then. Let's start with a brief yet dodgy self introduction shall we?" Lady
Picking up the hem the skirt with her fingers, the women elegantly bowed and stated herself.
"Mine name is Elzanad" Elzanad (TN: エルザナード if anyone else has a suggestion)
"Wha–!?" Garius leaked out his voice unintentionally.
It was impossible. No… there's still a possibility. The more Garius listened, he found credibility in Elzand's words which spun him further into confusion.
"I am alongside you, and the one who watches over you." Elzanad
Within the treasure of the Midterria Kingdom that was pa.s.sed down throughout the generations, there stood a Holy Sword and Armor that was a cut above the rest. There were no actual names attached to the individual pieces, but together it was known as the holy relic 'Elzanad'.
In accordance to ancient literature, it was said that a G.o.ddess of olden times resided within the relic. However, no one believed in such frivlious talk.
"I'd be nice if you could call me 'El-chan' instead" Elzanad
"In other words, Ehm… are you the G.o.ddess that lives in the relic? Or a type of spirit…?" Garius
"Fufu, looks like I've been seen through already. So be it. If I were to answer that question, it would be the latter. It's rather presumptuous to name myself as a deity" El-chan
"Humanoid spirits are rare you know" Garius
"Oh, this? To admire the loveliness of the moon, I've decided to take on this form. If there is a next time, I might take on a different form. Like a bird maybe" El-chan
The women— No, Elzanad giggled like a little girl.
"Ah, one more thing. Since this was a long-awaited meeting, I'll let you on something rather troublesome" El-chan
Elzanad lifted her slender arm horizontally and pointed to her side with her index finger.
"Go east" El-chan
"East?" Garius
"Yes. Go directly east without veering off. There, a new encounter awaits you, maybe" El-chan
"Not only are you setting conditions, you're not even certain yourself" Garius
"I am no prophet, but in that direction exists the ones you seek. For you, this is a chance to find yourself. If you're not able to meet them there, you will most likely never cross paths ever again. To let this chance go by is rather regretful, is it not?" (El-chan)
Is this some sort of trap? If that's the case then she would have phrased her words to be more concrete and invitational. Beside, the fact that the national treasure had a spirit dwelling inside it was still unbelievable. There was no solid evidence.
"Now then, it's time for my departure. For the time being, I will continue to look over you" El-chan
Elzanad's body started to gently float upward.
"Wait, are you just going to leave me hanging and run away? I won't be able to sleep at this point" Garius
"I am always, and forever by your side" El-chan
"Again with that vague c.r.a.p. Does that mean you're already observing me—" Garius
The world was suddenly dyed white from the rays of light bursting out of Elzanad's body.
And thus the white world—
—became a blue sky.
"It's… morning?" Garius
While a little groggy, Garius woke up thinking about how he went to sleep in the first place. Sleepily he scanned the surrounding area. The golden haired women was nowhere to be seen.
"Nnn…Good morning Garius…? What's wrong?" Rippi
"No, it's nothing" Garius
A dream? Even for a dream it felt way too real.
(Mah, she told me not to worry about it, so I'll take her up on that) Garius
The women who named herself Elzanad said to head east. Even if it were a trap, their ultimate destination was along that direction. Being alert by all means not anything bad, at the same time it's not enough the change their course.
But now is different.
(I will respect only my personal choices. I will not return to the days where I accepted orders without thinking twice) Garius
Though Rippi was the one who asked to travel together, the one who agreed was Garius. Then he must venture forward with self confidence and pride.
Garius once again, steeled his resolve then and there.
