These words provoked Qin Yi's painful spot. He said coldly, "Who said we broke up? I'm warned you before, He ShaoChen, not to meddle with me! It looks like you haven't gotten the message."

He ShaoChen's expression was sardonic. He returned, "You didn't break up? Then last time who was it that said when he got sick of playing, that he would give the other person away? Besides…" He smiled slightly. "Even if  you regretted the words and pretended to treat him nicely after, who knows when you'll change your mind again. Most likely the next time something doesn't go your way."

Qin Yi's expression changed dramatically and he forced out his words through clenched teeth. "Don't speak about things you don't understand."

Young master Huang and co were originally about to leave. They understood the logic behind the idiom "curiosity killed the cat" but this gossip was too explosive! If they didn't listen they would regret it to death. They wouldn't get bored of talking about it in the circle for an entire year. So they withstood the immense pressure and stood to one side, watching the drama unfold!

Luckily for them He ShaoChen and Qin Yi were too busy to take any notice of this group of cannon fodder.

He ShaoChen raised his eyebrow. "What don't I understand? Those despicable words and things done by you? Do you think I'm a three year old child?"

Qin Yi slapped the table and said angrily, "You don't know anything!"

He ShaoChen, "And what do you know?"

Qin Yi tightly clenched his first beside his body. His eyes were very dark.

That's right… what did he know? Wasn't the things he knew even less than He ShaoChen? As the person closest to Ye Ming, he understood him even less than an outsider. He could never justify all the mistakes he had made.

His lips moved and he said in a suppressed voice. "Yes I didn't know a thing and for that I have paid the price. But I won't make that mistake again. From now on I'll treat him well."

He ShaoChen said, "It's too late for that."

Qin Yi met his eyes and said, "Maybe it is too late but at least he still cares about me. If he wanted to choose you he would have chosen you three years ago. Don't you understand?"

He ShaoChen's face also changed. Although he wanted to push Qin Yi, how could he not understand this? No matter how much he said or did it wasn't any use. He was destined to lose because the one that Ye Ming liked was Qin Yi.

Even if he still had hope three years ago but from the day he realized the reason why Ye Ming departed, he knew that he had had completely no hope.

But… he still had a lot of regret.

Ye Ming helplessly ma.s.saged his temple and softly coughed.

Although this sound was very mild however both people immediately stopped. They looked like two obedient school children waiting for the teacher to speak. They both stared at him anxiously.

Young master Huang and co had heard enough to make them excited to the point of fainting. So this was the reason behind Qin Yi and He ShaoChen falling out all those years ago! But suddenly Young master Huang woke up from his excited state. His legs suddenly felt soft as he remembered his impolite behaviour towards Ye Ming previously. Young master Huang's friends had suddenly realized this too. Suddenly they all vanished like puffs of smoke, leaving him alone.

They must draw a line between themselves and this idiot!

Cold sweat ran down Young master Huang's face. This group of cowardly tras.h.!.+ He turned around and all but knelt down to Qin Yi. He said crying painfully, "Brother Yi! I didn't know this was my sister-in-law! Please forget everything I said before!"

Qin Yi: "……."

He ShaoChen: "……"

What should they do? The atmosphere suddenly changed. If they kept fighting it felt as though they would become as stupid as this idiot.

The two of them stared at each other wordlessly.

In this awkward silence Ye Ming suddenly laughed. He looked at Young master Huang and said faintly, "It's fine. You go ahead. He won't make trouble for you."

Although Ye Ming's voice was cold and his face was fairly expressionless however young master Huang saw a benevolent light in his eyes! It was as though a glow like the Virgin Mary shone out of Ye Ming. He was grateful to the point of tears and said, "Sister-in-law is really a great person! I'll roll myself out now. Next time little brother will invite you out to eat!"

Ye Ming didn't agree or disagree.

Young master Huang had obtained his forgiveness and didn't dare stick his nose in this business any longer. He disappeared with a trail of smoke.

Ye Ming turned back around. He smiled at He ShaoChen. "It's rare to meet like this. Don't stand, sit down ba."

This was clearly inviting He ShaoChen to eat.

Since Ye Ming made the invitation even though Qin Yi heart said a hundred "no's", he still suppressed it and watched as He ShaoChen sat down opposite him.

Although He ShaoChen had achieved his objective however he didn't look happy. Instead there was a flash of darkness in his eyes.

Just then Ye Ming hadn't rejected young master Huang calling him "sister-in-law", and he had even acted on Qin Yi's behalf to make the decision to ask him to sit down. This demonstrated that inside Ye Ming's he still thought of Qin Yi as someone who was "his person", and that He ShaoChen was an outsider.

Although he knew he had no chance but this was still the person he had loved secretly for many years. How was it possible for him to be not disappointed? He ShaoChen's heart had many grievances but right now Ye Ming probably didn't have long in this world so he definitely couldn't let him be sad. So he could only hide his feelings in his heart.

He ShaoChen gazed at Ye Ming tenderly. He said, "Although I don't have any chance but if there comes a day when Qin Yi makes you unhappy, you can still come to find me. Don't worry, I won't be expecting anything in return."

Ye Ming smiled slightly. "It's because you're like this that I feel that I can't bother you."

He ShaoChen frowned. "I'm like this with my ordinary friends too. Don't overthink it."

Ye Ming smiled helplessly.

Qin Yi was unhappy. He took Ye Ming's hand and said to He ShaoChen. "Don't even think about it. There won't be any chances."

He ShaoChen's expression was of someone who couldn't be bothered arguing with him.

Ye Ming looked at these two people's disharmonious att.i.tudes and felt some distress. Although he didn't intend for it to turn out like this, but the reason for He ShaoChen and Qin Yi falling out started because of him. He still remembered that back then they were really good friends.

The meal pa.s.sed awkwardly in this atmosphere.

Although He ShaoChen knew that Ye Ming liked Qin Yi but he still had the desire to make trouble for Qin Yi. His feelings could probably be summarized in the phrase, "If I can't obtain it then you don't think about obtaining it smoothly either". Ye Ming couldn't do much so he focused on eating. However he also couldn't eat a lot and became full quickly.

It was only Qin Yi that found the meal difficult to bear. He felt deep guilt and regret over his actions. He had no retort for He ShaoChen's accusations and felt fear that upon recalling it, Ye Ming would become angry again. He carefully tended to him and almost didn't eat himself.

Ye Ming saw that it was getting late and finally bid goodbye to He ShaoChen.

Qin Yi accompanied Ye Ming back to the hospital and patiently helped him wash and get into the bed to rest.

Ye Ming was quiet the entire time. Although he didn't say much his att.i.tude seemed to have softened. Qin Yi helped cover Ye Ming up with the blankets and then held Ye Ming's thin hand. He said lowly, "Is it okay if I stay here with you?"

Ye Ming didn't reply. He closed his eyes and seemed to go to sleep.

Qin Yi stared at his side profile. Deep feelings welled up in his dark eyes: anguish and an unwillingness to let go. He gently lay down beside Ye Ming and spread open his arms to embrace him. A faint smell of medicine drifted into his nose and he said lowly, "I won't do anything. I just want to hold you."

You don't even know how much I just want to embrace you to sleep once more.

Even I didn't know until today how much I am unwilling to let you go. Even previously when I didn't know the truth, I used hate and cold words to obscure my deep feelings. But actually what I wanted was to keep you by my side forever, and never let you leave me.

Afterwards I finally realized that you also didn't want to leave. But the moment I realized that I also realized that it was impossible for me to keep you.

If in the beginning I knew what would have been the result? I probably… would have preferred that you betrayed me.

At least that way you would be still be alive. Even if you aren't by my side, you would still be living well.

Although they looked as though they had made up however there was still some barrier between the two people because they still could not fully express the words of their hearts to each other.

Mother Qin looked at the youth in front of her. It was clear that he really was very seriously ill however his eyes were calm and clear, not humbled. She nodded her head. "Okay."

Although the bodyguard behind her was very anxious however he couldn't stop her. He could only immediately notify Qin Yi and stand guard by the door and listen carefully to what was happening. If Mother Qin did anything to harm Ye Ming he could only be bold and prevent her!
