After making haste underground for the entire day, Jiang Yi reached a small city that was north of Summer Rain City, Osmanthus City!
After probing around for information in the city, he felt a weight lifted off of his mind. The army had just gone past Osmanthus City and was estimated to arrive at Summer Rain City in the evening. It meant that he had a whole afternoon to execute his plan.
Last chance!
At this moment, Jiang Yi remained calm and collected. He wasn't in a hurry to go pursue the army; he found an inn and had a good meal instead. He bathed himself and wore an embroidered robe before swaggering out of the city. In the empty wilderness outside of the city, he took down his human skin mask and changed it into a demon mask. He took out a spirit beast talisman and yelled, “Dragon Eagle, come out!”
“Chu-Chu!”
A giant black shadow formed in front of him. This Dragon Eagle was as tall as six meters; it was clad in black feathers which looked they were forged from steel, glistening from the light. The entire outlook of the Dragon Eagle was just like a moving castle.
Jiang Yi lightly pushed himself off the ground and leaped onto the back of the Dragon Eagle. He grabbed it by the neck and yelled, “Use your fastest speed and fly south!”
“Chu-Chu!”
Extending its wings, the surface of the ground had these violent winds. The Dragon Eagle's ma.s.sive body floated and rose straight towards the ninth heaven.
Jiang Yi's black hair was fluttering violently in the winds, and his eyes were shut from the incoming wind, narrowing into a seam. When he looked down at the city which was becoming smaller and smaller, sweat started to ooze out in his palm while he felt dizzy, too. It was just like when he looked from the paG.o.da in the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch.
“Alright, alright, stop ascending!”
Seeing that he was almost 30 kilometers above the ground, the people below looked as small as ants. Jiang Yi quickly steered the Dragon Eagle to fly south; he thought that with this height, even Vajra Realm martial experts wouldn't be able to hurt him from below, right? Let alone experts at the peak-stage of the Soul Travel Realm.
Of course… this was Jiang Yi's unilateral a.s.sumption. Vajra Realm martial experts were able to traverse the skies, and killing Jiang Yi was as easy as squas.h.i.+ng an ant.

The army's advancements were naturally slow because, underneath the main road, they had an additional defense battalion. The underground battalion had to excavate the tunnel as they advanced so their speed was naturally slower.
During these two days, Jiang Yi didn't appear; and they were just four hours away from reaching Summer Rain City, which helped rea.s.sure Xia Wuhui and Su Diguo. They weren't afraid that Jiang Yi would kill Xia Wuhui. However—once they got nearer to Summer Rain City, there would be more travelers and merchant groups. If they were intercepted and slaughtered by Jiang Yi again, Xia Wuhui and Su Diguo would suffer another humiliating blow.
“Swis.h.!.+ Swis.h.!.+ Swis.h.!.+”
On the main road ahead, there were several large merchant groups which all s.h.i.+fted to the side and waited for the army to pa.s.s by.
These merchants were obviously citizens of the Great Xia Kingdom, and when they saw Su Diguo's mount, they all knelt down. Su Diguo was the only Great General Lord in the Great Xia Kingdom and had utmost prestige within the kingdom.

Su Diguo nodded with satisfaction as he felt respectable as these groups of people who knew what to do, especially when the Xia Wuhui and the Divine Martial Kingdom's army was behind him.
“Chu-Chu!”
Right at this moment, there was a clear calling that echoed from the skies, which caused Su Diguo's pleasant mood to suddenly plunge. When he lifted his head to glance 30 kilometers into the sky, his expression got worse as he saw an individual riding on the Dragon Eagle and flying towards the army.
There were many individuals that had spirit beasts in the Great Xia Kingdom; those that had aerial spirit beasts were countable by the fingers. However, none of the Great Xia Kingdom's citizens would dare to fly their spirit beast right above Su Diguo's head and this ma.s.sive army. This person was obviously here with hostile intentions.
“Stand guard!”
Su Diguo bellowed, to which the Soul Travel Realm experts responded by leaping onto the carriages and nearby stone peaks. They observed closely at the hovering Dragon Eagle and the man seated on top of it.
“En?”
Xia Wuhui glanced through the curtains and had this change of expression; there was bewilderment written in his eyes. Didn't Jiang Yi possess an ancient species called Zouwu Beast? It was a known fact that no one individual could tame two spirit beasts.
If this person wasn't Jiang Yi, who could it be?
“Chu-Chu!”
The Dragon Eagle cried out lightly before it dove, causing all the Soul Travel Realm experts to tense up. All of them circulated the essence force in their hands, getting ready to launch their essence force attacks at any moment.
One thousand soldiers, who were equipped with the G.o.d-Exterminating Crossbows, all pointed it at the Dragon Eagle. Even more soldiers drew their bows and arrows, aiming at the Dragon Eagle in the sky. As soon as it approached them, they would immediately release their arrows and crossbow bolts.
Su Diguo was riding on a tall, strange beast while he pointed his halberd towards the sky. The halberd reflected light resplendently and had this terrifying aura as he looked at the masked man on the Dragon Eagle and shouted, “Who goes there? I am the Great Xia Kingdom's Great General Lord, Su Diguo. Back off quickly; otherwise, this Lord will not be merciful!”
“Hahahaha!”
After diving for several hundreds of meters, the Dragon Eagle stopped in mid-air. The man, who was wearing the demon mask, suddenly let out lengthy laughter and yelled out, “General Su, I do not have any intention to be enemies with the Great Xia Kingdom. If you do not attack me, I shall not kill anyone from the Great Xia Kingdom. I just want the Soul-Subduing Herb. Xia Wuhui, as long as you hand over the Soul-Subduing Herb, I will immediately leave. Otherwise… bear the consequences!”
“Jiang Yi!”
The entire army was in an uproar. Jiang Yi actually came again? And he was acting so ostentatious and unrestrained? He dared to threaten Divine Martial Kingdom's Crown Prince in front of this ma.s.sive army and countless experts? Wasn't he going do upfront plunder?
“How did he tame two spirit beasts? Was the Fire Phoenix also his spirit beast, too?”
Xia Wuhui had this stunned expression, but he was sure that that person was Jiang Yi; he could even recognize that voice even if it turned into ashes! His stunned expression quickly turned into anger as he roared out, “Go kill him! Kill that renegade!”
The experts from the Divine Martial Kingdom wanted to kill Jiang Yi and so did Su Diguo, but Jiang Yi was hundreds of meters above the ground. Their attacks could never reach him!
Su Diguo had this fury in his eyes as he yelled out again, “Prince Wuhui is our kingdom's distinguished guest. Since he is currently in my kingdom's territory, I naturally have the responsibility to protect his safety. This Lord doesn't care who you are, but leave now! Or else you will be viewed as the enemy of the Great Xia Kingdom! And we will kill without any room for negotiation!”
“Hahaha!”
Standing on the Dragon Eagle, Jiang Yi treated Su Diguo's threats as bullsh*t. He looked down at the dozens of carriages and shouted, “Xia Wuhui! If you are a man, then come out this instance! Is there any meaning in cowering like a tortoise? You have to let me know if you are going to hand over the Soul-Subduing Herb or not, right?!”
“Hmph!”
Xia Wuhui finally couldn't bear it any longer as he broke through the roof of the carriage and stood on top of it. He was followed behind by an old eunuch and surrounded by Soul Travel Realm guards.
Xia Wuhui glanced at Jiang Yi, who was high up in the sky, and snorted. “Jiang Yi! The Soul-Subduing Herb is with this Prince! If you have the guts, come and get it then!”
“Alright, this Young Master is coming!” Jiang Yi laughed as the Dragon Eagle dove.
The eyes of Xia Wuhui and the others brightened up. Countless Soul Travel Realm experts, even Su Diguo's weapons all glowed as countless essence force attacks were shot upwards. Plenty of long distance crossbows also shot towards the sky like locusts.

Jiang Yi's eyesight was abnormally sharp. When he saw the speed of those essence force attacks and the arrows, he stopped nine kilometers from the surface and didn't dare to descend anymore. Otherwise, this Dragon Eagle would be slain.
