Legend of Legend – Chapter 19

While hiding in the gra.s.s, he was deep in thought when Atlan’s hand closed over his mouth. Everyone was on alert as they held their breath. They could hear footsteps coming from a distance.

Lee-joonhyuk became very nervous. The sound he heard was pretty loud. At the very least, there were 10 people, and there should be a Hero like Atlan amongst them.

Lee-joonhyuk held his breath, while he lifted his two-handed sword.

“Vera will start it off. Then I’ll jump the enemy, so cast the barrier on me.

Lee-joonhyuk nodded his head instead of answering him.

After Vera met our eyes, she opened her mouth.

“They are within range.”

“Wait a little bit more.”

Atlan turned to look at the others.

“The moment Vera steps forward, you guys have to make a barricade. Don’t allow the enemies to approach her.”

These Minions were different from others since they had already experienced at least one battle. Their eyes shone as they nodded their heads. Atlan directed them with his eyes.

Vera lifted both her hands in front of her.

From the tips of her fingers, five streams of fire came out, and it traveled as it burned through the gra.s.s. When the flame she sent exploded into the surrounding, Vera stepped forward as she yelled.

“Charge!”

At Vera’s shout, the Minions moved their body reflexively. They ran as they positioned the s.h.i.+elds in front of them. Lee-joonhyuk was about to chase after them, but Atlan barred the way with his hand.
As if to indicate it wasn’t his time, Atlan shook his head. Lee-joonhyuk waited, while grabbing his two-handed sword. Soon, the Minions ahead let out screams as they died.

Kim-sarang, who hadn’t stepped forward, stood next to Lee-joonhyuk as she studied her surroundings. Atlan glanced at her as he spoke.

“Use your magic by aiming for the head of that tall guy. It won’t do anything to him, but it’ll draw his gaze.”

Lee-joonhyuk frowned at Atlan’s words.
It was basically a death sentence to draw a Hero’s gaze. Before Lee-joonhyuk could speak, Atlan ran forward.

Lee-joonhyuk gritted his teeth, and he followed after him. At the location where the gra.s.s ended, Atlan rose high into the air to meet a werewolf, who was about to attack Vera.

The werewolf broke through Vera’s magic as he charged forward. The werewolf was already damaged from the magic, and it reflexively raised its claws toward the shadow above its head.

The one meter long claws shot out, and it was aimed towards the falling Atlan.
In a flash, the ivory colored barrier covered Atlan.

Kah-ahng!

The moment the werewolf’s claws bounced off, Atlan’s sword sliced through the werewolf’s leg.
As the blood fountained forth, Atlan’s sword danced.

Ssska-ka-kak!

The werewolf retreated as it vomited blood, and its eyes changed to red.

Ah-wooooooooo!

It was funny to see someone roar into the sky during a battle, but the roar caused the surrounding people to freeze in place.

Once the Minions, who were forming a barrier, were frozen, the enemy Minions struck down the s.h.i.+elds with their axes.  Then they aimed for their necks.

During all of this, Atlan unhesitatingly swung his sword towards the werewolf.  However, the werewolf with the changed red eyes wouldn’t go down easily.

Its wounds were rapidly recovering. Atlan frowned when he saw this. Soon the 10 seconds would be up. It seemed he wouldn’t be able to kill it within that time frame.

Atlan lightly clicked his tongue then he retreated backwards. Atlan crouched then he yelled.

“Vera!”

The werewolf had chased after Atlan, and an enormous wall of fire surged forth in front of the werewolf.

The werewolf swung its claws, and the wall of flame was shredded. The werewolf unhesitatingly jumped forward as he cleaved through the flames. The werewolf closed the distance as he ran on all fours, and it was able to see the ivory barrier disappear from around Atlan.

Since the annoying thing disappeared, it ran in as it decided to end fight.

An energy bolt came from behind Atlan, and it hit the werewolf’s face.

Puk!

It took an energy bolt to the face, but its destructive power wasn’t that great. The werewolf ignored it as he charged forward. However, the momentary pause made all the difference.

Atlan took one large step, and he swung his sword. If the werewolf didn’t reflexively jump up, its torso would have been cut into two.

However, the strike was a critical blow. As the sword was swung in an arc, the werewolf’s two legs were severed. When the werewolf stumbled to the ground, Atlan threw his sword.

Ka-kahng!

Even during all of this, the werewolf was able to swing both of its arms to deflect the sword. However, Vera’s flame flew in after he had swung both of his arms.

Boom!

The werewolf fell over as it took the strike to the chest. Before anyone knew it, Atlan’s sword had returned to him.  He immediately cut its head off.

When the werewolf’s head was severed, Atlan placed the head on to the floor.  The werewolf’s red eyes looked up as it looked at Atlan.  Atlan spoke as he smiled.

“Warren. Have a nice trip.”

“I’ll get you back for this.”

After saying this, the werewolf’s head started to slowly disappear. Atlan stared at it, and when he looked up, Vera spoke in an annoyed tone.

“Don’t play around!”

Atlan smiled as he looked at the surviving Minions.

“I guess only the small fries are left.”

At his terrifying smile, the Minion’s bodies froze. Lee-joonhyuk appeared like a shadow behind their back, then he cut their throats.

Atlan smirked at the sight.

“He has the money fever.”

At his words, Vera didn’t get angry any further. Before anyone knew it, she had moved next to Kim-sarang as she spoke.

“Aim for the head. Your energy bolt can’t pierce through amor yet.”

She had hit the werewolf’s head, but it hadn’t done any damage. She had realized how weak her energy bolt was. Kim-sarang aimed an energy bolt toward the Minion’s head. Lee-joonhyuk was also running in towards the same Minion.

Puk.

A Hero was able to endure the attack, but the normal Minion was killed with a single blow. Kim-sarang’s body froze as she saw the Minion’s head break open. Vera spoke to Kim-sarang as she put her arms around her.

“They aren’t humans, so don’t feel any guilt.”

Those words were like a magicspell as it relaxed Kim-sarang’s stiffened body. These beings were trying to kill them. Moreover, they weren’t human as they possessed green skin.

Kim-sarang’s eyes shone as she let out another round of her magic.

When the fallen Minions disappeared, she saw gold coins appear. However, there were only about 10 gold coins. Lee-joonhyuk picked up his share, then he turned to look at Kim-sarang.

She had killed three Minions.

From the 15 enemies, Lee-joonhyuk had defeated 10 of them. Kim-sarang had killed three. The other two had been killed by magic used by Vera.
Lee-joonhyuk took his share of ten gold coins, then he spoke to Kim-sarang.

“You should pick it up.”

Anyways, it wasn’t possible to pick up gold coins from other’s kills. Kim-sarang approached at Lee-joonhyuk’s words, then she spoke as she picked up the three gold coins.

“Where do we use this?”

“It is used in transactions within the Dimensional Marketplace.”

She had heard about it last time, but she hadn’t heard the exact details. Lee-joonhyuk calmly spoke as Kim-sarang was going to ask her question again.

“We are heading towards there, so you can find out for yourself.”

“Yes.”

During all of this, Atlan picked up the item Warren had dropped when he died. Atlan smiled as he looked at the necklace with gems embedded on it, then he tossed it to Vera.

“He’s going to lose some sleep over this.”

“Yes. He’ll shed some tears.”

Atlan turned to speak to the group.

“We are going to go to the Dimensional Marketplace. We can rest when we get there.”

“Yes.”

As he moved along with Atlan, Lee-joonhyuk looked at the survivors. Since a lot of them were frozen in place by Warren’s roar, many were killed. They had started out with 15 Minions, but only 6 were left. There were no guarantees they will survive past the next battle.

Lee-joonhyuk turned around to look at Kim-sarang. Fortunately, Vera was always besides her. Atlan had taught him in a half-a.s.sed manner. He had almost died numerous times, but he would just tell Lee-joonhyuk to toughen up.

However, Vera was different. She stuck close to Kim-sarang, and she explained every question Kim-sarang asked. She even taught Kim-sarang an easier method for creating magic, while they practiced.

Kim-sarang seemed to have forgotten that she had killed her first Minions.  She was focused on listening to Vera’s story.
Well, he couldn’t blame her since Vera was the first one to give him an explanation to every one of his questions. Her personality was very different from Atlan’s, so it was understandable.

They moved quickly through the forest path. Their enemies could set up a trap akin to what they did, so they had to move fast to avoid such an event.

After moving for a while, the forest came to an end, and they were able to see a large mirror. The large mirror was reflecting back the forest, so if someone who didn’t know about it stumbled upon this location, they would think this was just a continuation of the forest. They would have never realized this was the portal to the Dimensional Marketplace.

Atlan spoke in front of the group.

“Let’s enter.”

When Atlan entered, he couldn see the Minions hold their breath. Vera spoke as she nudged Lee-joonhyuk’s back.

“You go in first .”

“Understood.”

Lee-joonhyuk took a deep breath, then he walked towards the mirror. How fl.u.s.tered was he when he first came to this place? It felt like he was piercing through the surface of the water. The sensation and the world he was in changed.

At first, he had a really high expectation when he heard about the Dimensional Marketplace. However, once he entered the place, he never had that thought again.

It was a run-down store with a person, who looked like a yeti, sitting inside. He sat with his gla.s.ses on.  The yeti was the Dimensional Merchant. His name of Bebe.

Atlan was conversing with him when Lee-joonhyuk entered. Atlan spoke when he saw Lee-joonhyuk.

“Bebe. Please show some items to that friend over there.”

Bebe’s gaze moved towards Lee-joonhyuk. As expected of a yeti, he was 4 meters tall, and he had really large eyes. His eyes shone like black marbles. Bebe grinned as he looked at Lee-joonhyuk.

“I guess he is a Novice. Did he earn some gold?”

Lee-joonhyuk approached him, and he took out the gold coins he had picked up. When he took out 29 gold coins, Bebe rested his chin on his hands as he looked at Lee-joonhyuk.

“Are you trying to buy some candies? You could probably buy the Android race’s candy with this amount.”

Atlan let slip a chuckle.

“Stop playing around.”

Bebe readjusted his gla.s.ses, then he pushed forward a little tablet.

“Put your hand on there.”

Once Lee-joonhyuk place his hand on there, a number floated on the top. The number shown was 1230G. At this sight, Bebe spoke as he placed his chin on his hand.

“You gathered a lot of gold even though you are only a Novice.”

Bebe took out a book then he spoke.

“Still, there aren’t many things you can purchase.”

After saying those words, Bebe opened the book. In a flash, Lee-joonhyuk saw the book unfurl endlessly. Then he was able to see the items on sale by the Dimensional Merchant float to the top.
It was labeled in foreign languages. Lee-joonhyuk was taken aback, so he turned to look at Atlan.  Atlan shrugged his shoulder when he saw him.

After looking at Lee-joonhyuk, Bebe pointed towards a pill.

“If you eat this, you’ll be able to use every language in this dimension. The price is 100G.”

“Aren’t your selling methods too unfriendly?”

“If you don’t want it, then I don’t care.”

Bebe seemed to use boldness to sell his merchandise. Lee-joonhyuk turned to look at Atlan, and he spoke in a calm manner.

“Just buy the pill and eat it. Those who use this place don’t care about such small sum of gold. ”

If he killed hundred Minions, then he’ll be able to earn 100G. However, they were talking about it as a small sum.

Lee-joonhyuk thought for a moment before he asked a question.

“Earth has couple thousand different languages. How many different languages are there in this entire dimension?”

Bebe grinned. The large smile by such a large being gave him the s.h.i.+vers yet Lee-joonhyuk didn’t think he was scary since his eyes were too large.

“This is why I’m saying it is a small sum. Just by eating this one pill, you can read and write hundreds of thousands of languages. It only cost 100G.”

Lee-joonhyuk let out a sigh. Even if he was only able to speak and understand all the languages on earth, it was worth the 100G.

Lee-joonhyuk nodded his head, and Bebe pushed forward the tablet.

“Put your hand on there.”

Once Lee-joonhyuk put his hand on the tablet, the 1230G decreased to 1130G. Then Bebe put the pill on top of Lee-joonhyuk’s hand.

“Eat it.”

Lee-joonhyuk stared at the pill in his hand. This was worth the lives of 100 Minions. Lee-joonhyuk closed his eyes, and he put the pill in his mouth.
