Chapter 1115 The Promised Companion Becomes Bullying (1)
Su Jian’an noticed Song Jiqing’s expression and was surprised to find that he looked serious.
Although he was a doctor, he was capable and bold. He was not as steady and serious as ordinary doctors.
Most of the time, he gave others the impression that he was easygoing and casual.
Su Jian’an was not used to his sudden sternness.
However, did this mean that what he was going to say was more serious than they imagined?
For some reason, Su Jianan’s heart grew heavier.
Xiao Yunyun was merely happy and didn’t notice anything unusual about Song Jiqing at all. Naturally, she didn’t think as much as Su Jian’an did.
She was smiling happily, and the smile on her face was as bright as the sun. She said gracefully, “Dr. Song, no matter what request you have, just name it! As long as I can do it, I will agree to it!”
At this time, she could only use such a heroic utterance to express her grat.i.tude to Song Jiqing.
Xiao Yunyun had already promised him, so the others had no reason to turn him down.
Su Jian’an followed along with Xiao Yunyun’s words and said, “Yes. Dr. Song, tell us about it first.”
If they could really help Song Jiqing, they sure had no reason to turn him down, nor would they do it.
Song Jiqing did not speak. His handsome eyes drooped slightly. No one knew what he was thinking.
After a while, he had a bitter smile on his face. His voice was a little low as he said, “Forget it. We’ll talk about it later. I need to get the cleanup of Yuechuan’s operation done.”
Hearing that, Xiao Yunyun got uneasy again. She quickly grabbed Song Jiqing and asked, “Is Yuechuan’s operation not over yet?”
She was also a doctor, and she knew better than anyone that the operation could not be declared successful until the last moment.
“If Yuechuan’s operation is not over yet, maybe… I got too excited.”
Looking at Xiao Yunyun’s shocked look, Song Jiqing suddenly felt that the little girl was quite cute. He comforted her with a smile, “Don’t overthink it. The operation is over, but there’s still some follow-up work to do. I can’t rest totally a.s.sured with their work, so I want to go in and keep an eye on it.”
“I see.” Xiao Yunyun breathed a sigh of relief and pushed Song Jiqing. “Then go in and do that now!”
“Tsk!” Song Jiqing shook his head in disappointment. “Xiao Yunyun, you are so heartless!”
“Well, you misunderstood my intention. I’m just being caring!”
Xiao Yunyun smiled cheekily and joked. She directly pushed Song Jiqing into the operating room.
The operating room door was quickly closed again, but this time, Xiao Yunyun’s mood was different from before.
She was no longer worried or afraid.
“Yuechuan and I have gone through such a great challenge together. In the future… perhaps nothing will get to defeat us, and we won’t need to be afraid anymore.”
Xiao Yunyun was both happy and excited. Her eyes suddenly became hot again, and she couldn’t control the tears, which kept falling from her eyes.
When she shed tears of sadness because of fear, she would go to Su Jian’an.
When she shed tears of joy, she would still go to Su Jian’an.
Xiao Yunyun turned around with tears in her eyes and subconsciously looked for Su Jian’an’s figure. “Jian’an…”
Su Jian’an was no longer nervous and worried. Seeing Xiao Yunyun like this, she couldn’t help laughing. She walked over and hugged Xiao Yunyun. She patted her on the back and comforted her. “Don’t cry. Yuechuan is fine. He will recover after a while.”
“I know that.” Xiao Yunyun cried and nodded. She looked at Su Jian’an with tears in her eyes and said in an extremely aggrieved voice, “I just can’t control myself…”
Su Jian’an didn’t expect that the little girl would defend herself.
She couldn’t help bursting into laughter and continued to stroke Xiao Yunyun’s back. “All right now. Would this help?”
Xiao Yunyun gritted her teeth, buried her head on Su Jian’an’s shoulder, and held back her tears after she tried hard for a long time.
She cried no matter whether she was happy or upset. Su Jian’an had never seen someone act this way. She thought helplessly, “What can I do with Xiao Yunyun?”
However, she was glad that Yuechuan had made it through this operation.
Otherwise, Xiao Yunyun would not just be crying like this.
After a long while, Su Jian’an let go of Xiao Yunyun and asked softly, “Do you feel better now?”
Xiao Yunyun was a little embarra.s.sed to look at the others. She lowered her head and replied with a “yeah” but didn’t dare to look up.
She had never lost control and cried out loud in front of so many people.
“The scenes from the beginning of Yuechuan’s operation to now will be my skeletons in the closet. The onlookers will definitely mention it from time to time and make fun of me…
“Alas, it’s so embarra.s.sing!”
Su Yicheng was the first one to know Xiao Yunyun and knew her well. He saw her embarra.s.sment at a glance and deliberately asked, “Yunyun, why are you lowering your head?”
Xiao Yunyun certainly knew that Su Yicheng did it on purpose. She raised her eyes and glanced at him, saying in a low voice, “I can raise my head, but you have to promise me a condition first!”
Whether she would raise her head or not was entirely her personal business. She made it sound like it was other people asking her to raise her head.
However, everyone was in a good mood after they learned that Yuechuan’s operation was successful. They didn’t mind agreeing to what Yunyun asked for.
Su Yicheng nodded. “Tell me about it. We will try our best not to refuse you if we can.”
“You can agree to it!” Xiao Yunyun slowly raised her head, glanced at everyone, and said, “My request is very simple. In the future, don’t mention or laugh at my crying today!”
Su Yicheng smiled and deliberately teased Xiao Yunyun. “What if we mention it? Will you lower your head again like just now?”
Xiao Yunyun fell silent.
Her face was red and darkened, and her emotions were extremely complicated. There was a fit of strong anger in the bottom of her eyes, but she had no way to vent it.
The others, including Xiao Guoshan and Su Yunjin, didn’t do Xiao Yunyun a favor and burst into unscrupulous laughter together.
Xiao Yunyun knew that everyone was laughing at her, and she wanted to cry again.
But this time, she didn’t feel like crying out of sadness. She would just cry because she was bullied.
Xiao Yunyun stamped her feet and looked at Su Yicheng angrily. “You can’t do this!”
Su Yicheng raised his eyebrows and began to play dumb openly. He asked, “What did I do?”
“Stop it!” Xiao Yunyun directly exposed Su Yicheng. “You were bullying me just now!”
Su Yicheng didn’t argue with Xiao Yunyun. He turned to ask the others, “Did I?”
Most people did not speak. Only Luo Xiaoxi stepped up, nodded, and said, “Yes!”
Xiao Yunyun rushed to Luo Xiaoxi as if she had seen her savior. “Xiaoxi, I knew you were the best to me!”
Luo Xiaoxi ignored Xiao Yunyun. She took Su Yicheng’s hand and continued, “However, I’m on your side!”
Now, Lu Boyan also couldn’t help laughing.
Hearing that, Xiao Yunyun stopped walking toward Luo Xiaoxi.
She looked at her cousin-in-law in disbelief and wanted to cry.
At this moment, she suddenly felt lonely and helpless.
“Didn’t we agree that they would stay with me together?
“It’s obvious that they are all bullying me now!”
Xiao Yunyun was truly about to cry as she complained, “You were not like this just now!”
Su Jian’an smiled and reminded her, “The world keeps changing every minute, let alone us.”
Xiao Yunyun was speechless. She really missed Shen Yuechuan, who doted on her and would never change his att.i.tude toward her.
They joked for a while, and then the operating room door opened again.
This time, Song Jiqing was not the only one who came out of the operating room. There were also other doctors and nurses who partic.i.p.ated in the operation, as well as Shen Yuechuan.
From a distance, Xiao Yunyun could only see Shen Yuechuan lying on the hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown and an oxygen mask. His hair had really been shaved off.
“Yuechuan is now bald…”
Xiao Yunyun wasn’t happy or sad about it. She laughed and burst into tears again.
However, this time, she didn’t need anyone to comfort her. Her tears quickly stopped.
She was probably having tears of joy.
Xiao Yunyun ran in the direction of Shen Yuechuan and blurted out, “Yuechuan!”
Shen Yuechuan had his eyes closed tightly and did not respond.
Xiao Yunyun didn’t mind that. She held his hand and felt the familiar warmth.
He did make it through the last surgery and was still alive.
An irrepressible joy spread on Xiao Yunyun’s face. She didn’t let go of Shen Yuechuan’s hand but held it tighter.
She would never want to let go of his hand ever again.
“Yunyun,” Song Jiqing reminded her, “we need to send Yuechuan back to the ward first. You have plenty of time to be with him. Now, let go of his hand first and let us finish the work, okay?”
Xiao Yunyun nodded obediently. “Okay.”
The others also quickly came over, but they didn’t call out Yuechuan’s name as excitedly as Xiao Yunyun did.
“All right.” Song Jiqing said to the nurses, “Send Mr. Shen back to the ward.”
“Okay.” A nurse reminded the crowd in a soft voice, “Please step aside, everyone. We need to send the patient back to the ward.”
Su Jian’an and the others were very cooperative and wheeled Yuechuan back to the suite with the nurses.
After they pa.s.sed through the living room and arrived at the door of the ward, Song Jiqing only let Xiao Yunyun and Su Yunjin in. He reached out to stop the others and explained, “You should wait in the living room for a while. Before Yuechuan wakes up, only two people at most get to accompany him in the ward. If he has too many people around, it will affect his rest.”
Su Jian’an nodded. “We get that.” After a pause, she continued, “Dr. Song, thank you for saving Yuechuan.”
“That’s what I should do.” Song Jiqing made fun of himself. “Besides, if I didn’t get to save him, Mu Qi would be likely to kill me. I was afraid, so I had to do my best!”
