S = (1/4) AC 2 sin(2t)
“Morie?”
“Ha?” I was brought back to present when I heard her call me.
“I said, did you get it?”
“Ah, yes.” though I wasn’t paying attention the whole time. My mind was wandering. I don’t know why I’m doing this. I made an excuse for —- I really don’t know. Penelope gave me a puzzled look when I asked her. Well, I can’t blame her. Your cla.s.smate whom you’re not close to suddenly approached you to seek help, I understand why she was surprised. The only thing I can’t understand is myself.
We went to the library and that was where she tutored me. She shared her ideas about the subject. However, the truth is I already understood this lesson.
The only thought running on my mind while we’re together was — why am I here again?
“Do you want me to lend you my notes?” her eyes were covered with thick eyegla.s.ses, her hair was usually in pigtails but sometimes she let them down, like now. She’s kind and she’s one of those usual ‘geeks and grade’ who could be found in a cla.s.s. She’s a typical nerd but she only ranked around 2nd or 3rd.
n.o.body bothered her at cla.s.s, like me.
“No, I’m fine.” I said. It’s already six pm. The library would close soon. Both of us exited the place and then we no longer conversed until we reached the main gate. Maybe she was still guessing what I ate which made me approach her. We’re both engulfed by doubt ‘til we exited the campus.
“I’ll go ahead, Morie.”
“Ah – “ Penelope was about to leave but I stopped her. “Don’t go at Mirku’s.” Her lips parted then she looked at me in confusion.
“Their milk shakes were sold out,” I avoided her gaze. I looked stupid for what I’m saying.
“I don’t und—“
“No matter what, don’t go there!” I immediately turned my back at her and then walked away without looking back even though she kept calling my name.
After walking further, I felt the need to catch my breath because of nervousness so I leaned on the nearby wall. That was when I noticed on the other side of the road, there’s a familiar black car. A person was there, waving while smiling, his name is Albert.
“How are you Miss Jilliane?” It was been awhile someone called me that so it sounded awkward to me. He glimpsed at the rear-view mirror. Albert’s warm voice was still the same, wearing his formal suit and his hair turned whiter than before. I looked at him and he offered to give me a lift.
“I’m fine.” I missed this ambiance; sitting comfortably while looking outside the window.
“It’s been a long time. It looks like you’ve grown.”
“Yeah. But how did you know I was on my way out?”
“Well, it was only a chanced that I met you.”
“Oh.”
“Do you want to go home?”
“No.” It seems I answered loudly. “Sorry.” I sighed, “Please just take me to my apartment.”
He silently followed my order. When we reached there, he brought me to the front of the building where I’m staying.
“If you need anything, just call me,” he said.
“Okay.”
“Your father missed you.”
My dad? He missed me? When he noticed I have no plans in replying, he bid his goodbye.
“See you, young lady.”
Then he drove away.
11th floor. When I entered my apartment I switched on the light. I put my bag on the couch. It’s been a year since I become like this. One tear had pa.s.sed since I started living alone. I left home. Anyway dad has so much money, he bought me an apartment and supported me financially.
Only Albert had visited me here frequently. I don’t know if he was ordered to do so or what. As for me, I preferred to live here alone than to come home and see my dad everyday together with his new family.
7:35 pm.
“… three were dead in the said incident at…” The CCTV camera showed the scene while the reporter kept on talking. The place was near Mirku’s. That’s exactly what I saw. I just closed my eyes to forget what I foresaw, but it seems impossible. The only difference from the news I was watching was how… Penelope wasn’t there.
Another ordinary day…again… Murmurs… Rumors… Gossips… Everywhere…
Another new typical day, they’re still the same whenever I pa.s.sed by, judgmental eyes, murmurings, gossips, everywhere, even in the air. I pa.s.sed by the freedom board which was filled by the posts about the achievements of the students of White Knights Academy.
When I entered the cla.s.sroom, there’s was no Aya who came to meet me, which I found unusual. I noticed that a group of cla.s.smates stopped what they’re doing. They watched me ‘til I took my seat.
I saw in my peripheral vision that Penelope was looking at me. Her facial expression couldn’t be painted. I know she was puzzled by what happened. I think she also heard about what occured at Mirku’s.
“Morie!” Aya came out of nowhere. She grabbed me by the arm and pulled me out, running somewhere. “There’s something you need to see.” I didn’t complain. The cla.s.s should be starting soon but base on her tone of speaking, there’s something more urgent. Apparently, a bad news. She was serious, which seldom happened.
We moved towards the computer lab. n.o.body was there. One of the units was opened so she sat there and then she opened a site. Meanwhile, I remained standing behind her, watching what she will do next.
“Have you seen what they’ve been flocking for at the cla.s.sroom?”
“Nope.” I did not understand of what she’s been saying until…
“Look!” She showed me something which made my eyes open wider.
WHITE KNIGHTS ACADEMY
“HEARTLESS HEART BREAKER”
JILLIANNE MORIE
A blog came to my sight with this headline…
“What the h.e.l.l is this?”
“This blog appeared last week. And now it become popular in the whole school.” I immediately scanned the contents.
She doesn’t care about others feelings. Like what she did to those three guys she played!
She doesn’t hate or like anything. She has no heart.
She might look innocent and sweet, but she killed you three times inside her mind.
Jillianne Morie is a psychopath!
I stopped reading. I don’t know what I should react, I just stood there.
Who was the one who did this?
“Morie, a-are you okay?”
I smirked.
“Do you think I’m okay? After reading those nonsense?” I couldn’t help feeling annoyed.
She just lowered her head. I balled my fist while I feel so irritated. Calling me a psychopath is too much. I don’t care about the others but does it have to reach this point? I just want a peaceful life.
“Who’s behind this?”
“I don’t know, Morie. Sorry! I’m just worried about you.” She said in a low voice.
I sighed. I exited the lab without saying anything to her. I saw him outside, waiting. But I avoided his eyes. He’s leaning on the wall while his hands were on his pockets. Morris looks… worried too.
I feel him staring at me while I was walking away.
