The ever-polite Li Erqin instinctively offered her thanks to Rong Si. "Thank you…."

(Minodayz: OMG … RMZ didn't get to rescue her but RS did! swoon and poor RMX.)

Rong Si's face reflected his helplessness (i.e. that he had no other option but to help).

Ruan Mingxian stood just short of them and was trying to find a way out of the embarra.s.sing situation. Un.o.btrusively, he took his hands back and stuffed them casually into his pocket.

Li Erqin tidied her hair that had fallen to her forehead and glanced at Ruan Mingxian.

Ruan Mingxian's eyes met with hers, and he was momentarily stunned. He then began to laugh at her.

Li Erqin joined in his laughter. "Thank you."

"I'm off then!" With a smooth wave of his hand, he went down the remaining steps and rushed off to catch up with the rest of his buddies.

Just as Ruan Mingxian approached his group of friends, there were sounds of snickering and boys' teasing laughter heard.

Li Erqin lifted her foot to take the next step down, only to find herself held back.

Looking back, she saw Rong Si quietly looking at her.

Li Erqin gave a perplexed expression.

Rong Si retracted his hands and stoically shot a glance at the departing Ruan Mingxian before speaking to Li Erqin. "Be careful."

Li Erqin didn't pay too much attention and said, "It's nothing."

Peng Zige was not in agreement and said, "Isn't this your second time already?"

Li Erqin looked over at him.

Peng Zige was all gleeful at her predicament. "Remember that time during New Year's? It was also on the stairs and then someone had also b.u.mped into you."

When Li Erqin recalled the incident, it still brought on a sense of trepidation. "I was almost disfigured."

"So you do remember?" Su Zi couldn't resist interrupting, "If it wasn't for Ruan Mingxian, you most probably would have disfigured yourself AGAIN."

"Again?" Li Erqin was muddled.

Su Zi reminded her, "During the first year's military training, you came face to face with the concrete pavement."

Li Erqin had a moment of recollection. "Ohh, that's right. That time I really smashed my face."

Suddenly they fell into mutual silence.

When they walked out of the school building, they went their separate ways back to their hostels.

As Peng Zige walked beside Rong Si, he spoke up, "I say, Ah Si."

"Yup?"

"I felt that this evening's pork ribs from the cafeteria weren't very tasty."

"Oh."

"So you also …"

Peng Zige's conversation was cut off when he was. .h.i.t at the back of his head by an incoming s...o...b..ll. As the s...o...b..ll shattered and fell about his clothings, some snow had dropped inside his collar. It was so cold that he hollered, "Who did it?!"

Turning back, he saw Su Zi and Li Erqin some distance away laughing merrily.

Peng Zige glared angrily. "You two …"

He didn't get to finish his sentence before he was attacked a second time.

He carelessly swiped the snow off his face and then said in annoyance, "Why aren't you …"

Once again he didn't get to finish what he wanted to say.

Li Erqin and Su Zi were laughing (LTAO ~Laughing their a.s.s off). When they saw Peng Zige squatting down to make his own s...o...b..ll, they hurriedly turned and fled. In the blink of an eye, they had disappeared into the darkness.

(Minodayz: This is soooo funny and cute – those girls are such a hoot!!!)

(I can just see LEQ tossing it to him.)

When Peng Zige stood up with his s...o...b..ll ready to attack, he then realised that his opponents had vanished. He was so confused that he subsequently forgot about being annoyed. "Ah Si …"

Compared to Peng Zige's disheveled appearance, Rong Si stood out more G.o.dlike and cool. "Yes?"

"Why did they attack only me and not you?"

Rong Si pondered rather seriously before replying, "Maybe because I look like I might have a nasty temperament."

Peng Zige laughed.

At the same time, as the girls were headed up the stairs to their hostel, Su Zi was asking Li Erqin the same question. "We already agreed that I'd target Peng Zige, and you'd get Rong Si. So why did you also hit Peng Zige?"

Li Erqin's face showed no compunction. "Because it's easier to tease Peng Zige."

MInodayz : wow! Were you as surprised as I was when it was RS who saved the day? I guess the author threw us off when we saw what LEQ was seeing as she was falling but like us, we expected it to be RS turn to save the day, so it was rather clever diversion but with our expected outcome! Lol

Snow Fight – what a laugh!!! I just love our s.p.u.n.ky girls!!! So much fun!!! I like that PZG was it!!! And the ending – hahahah LEQ you just nailed him! LOL

I am on the road still til after the new year and sadly, my wifi and internet access have been patchy, so hopefully we will have sufficient chapters to sustain while I am still on the road! LOL!
